Favorite Heart song?

For all the Heart/Ann Wilson fans!

According to Heart's official website, Ann Wilson has pretty much completed her solo album! It is not going to be a "duets" album like people thought, but there will be several special guests including: Elton John, Shawn Colvin, Rufus Wainright, Gretchen Wilson and Nancy Wilson (duh).

The album also has a title: "Hope and Glory". I think they are now aiming for a late spring release date!!

Cool......it'll be interesting to see how the track with Rufus Wainwright turns out.

I always liked Heart so looking forward to hearing Ann's album.

But to me, their first 4 albums were the best.

You should take a listen to their 2004 release, Jupiter's Darling. It's a rock album with a throwback to their '70's sound!

but I recently heard 2 hip-hop songs that sampled Heart's "What About Love"
and I did some investigation into what the sample was (since I didn't know it at the time)


btw the 2 songs are
-Rick Ross - "Shot to the Heart"
-Lil Wayne - "Something That You Forgot"

I know "Something That You Forgot", but what does "Shot to the Heart" sample?

They were also sampled by Eminem (Crazy in Love sampled Heart's Crazy on You) and either Ice-T or Ice Cube (I always forget which one) sampled Magic Man.

Also, Fergie just covered Heart's Barracuda for the Shrek 3 soundtrack. And Heart songs have been used on American Idol several times: most notably by Carrie Underwood (Alone), but also What About Love and Never.

Both songs sample "What About Love"


Actually, to get technical if you're interested,
it's the same beat for both songs.
The 'real' song is Rick Ross "Shot to the Heart." which will be on a real album in stores soon.

But Lil Wayne was able to take the beat [from a studio probably] and did his own unofficial version "Something That You Forgot" that's just for independent release like the internet and street mixtapes,
and his version dealt with his former relationship with the R&B singer Nivea...

So with all the threads popping up for great female artists/led groups like Pat Benetar and Fleetwood Mac, I thought I'd make one for Heart. So any fans around here? I love their Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen albums, and Ann Wilson has to be one of the greatest female rock singers around.

My absolute favorite. It's been a hell of a year for them, too. Ann Wilson released her solo album (Hope and Glory) and Ann and Nancy and the current band did a live recreation of Dreamboat Annie that was released on cd and dvd this month! Their current tour just ended and they are heading back into the studio for their new album.

Ann Wilson has one of the most amazing voices in all of rock

I sort of think of her as the 'female Robert Plant'. She can wail with the best of them... When that voice of hers gets cranked up, it's like a force of nature. Amazing stuff.

'Dog and Butterfly', although I really don't know what it's about, reduces me to tears every time I hear it... The melody is just so gorgeous.

I love me some Heart. 'Alone' and 'Never' are my favorite songs! Ann Wilson's voice is amazing. And even after all these years, she still has her range and power!

Hell yeah! I love me some early Heart. Ann's voice is fucking amazing. Definitely one of the best in rock 'n roll!
