[.REC] this movie's perfect from the beginning to the end

We have a shared interest. Can't beat a good horror, especially Hammer.

The 1963 Robert Wise version of The Haunting. Are you really seeing what you think you're seeing? Are you hearing what you think you hear?

It's in B&W, but still far superior to that crap film with Liam Neeson.

And was there ever a more frightening movie than this one?

Hmm. I like the original Exorcist, Poltergeist, It, and Nightmare on Elm street series. I like to watch them around Halloween, even if they don't really scare me so much now. But back in the day, they did scare me once so I have nostalgic memories.

Night of the Living Dead. The original b/w version.

Very scary stuff....

Legally Blonde...and it's sequel...the horrifying,

Legally Blonde 2, Red, White, & Blonde...

I run screaming everytime.

Wah I love horrors! And my best friend loves them too so I'm in good company!

We mostly enjoy zombie films, not so much for fear but generally because, let's face it, zombies are the epitome of awesome! :D Favourite that comes immediately to mind is Braindead, utterly hilarious rather than scary but hey.

I know everyone hates it, but I'm a fan of the Saw series. So very intelligent. It's not really much of a horror, more a thriller, but I guess it fits in the genre.

Oh and I really enjoyed Orphan recently.

It depends on what you're looking for really, a fun film, shocking scary or creepy scary. I can probably make more accurate reccommendations then. ..|

With Halloween right around the corner, I'm gearing up for it by watching some of my all-time favorite horror movies. As you can tell from my list, I have a penchant for vampires, especially Dracula.

1. Horror of Dracula (1958 )--Christopher Lee's first performance as the Count, with Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. Great stuff! ......

Christopher Lee? Never heard of him! ;)

Seriously, I like all those you've listed and would add three of my favourite Vincent Price films, all pretty camp:

Theatre of Blood
The Abominable Dr Phibes
Dr Phibes Rises Again

I'm a great fan of horror movies, but I find that truly good horror movies are frustratingly difficult to come by; thus I find that, nine times out of ten, I'm disappointed by them.

Dead and Buried is a bit of an unsung gem for me: a cleverly-convoluted plot; a great script; a brilliantly-built and heavily-sustained sense of atmosphere; a wealth of creepy sequences; a great cast of quirky characters; some genuinely shocking moments and there's even room for some wonderfully subtle and unexpected humour in amongst all the impending dread!

I also have to mention two films which were adapted from the classic ghost stories of the master spooky-tale-teller, M. R. James: Whistle and I'll Come to You and A Warning to The Curious. I won't say any more about them; I simply urge you to watch them...

I must say that I have been waiting in anticipation for the release of Trick 'R' Treat; responses from audiences at test screenings gave virtually unanimous rave reviews, with people calling it the freshest and most exciting horror film since the first Scream movie. However, it seems that the film has been outrageously neglected by distribution companies; meanwhile we get films like the utterly dire Saw series in seeming abundance...

TThe Haunting is excellent. I think B&W can sometimes make a horror movie even more effective.

Indeed. You can't get the same visual effects with colour. That's why the new The Haunting with Liam, which relied upon in-your-face CGI effects to scare people, failed dismally.

As far as I'm concerned, your mind creates the scariest movies out of what isn't shown on the screen.

That's why Alien succeeded so well. The horror was in all the people aboard the Nostromo. I mean, look how terrifying those 2 little blips on a computer screen were.

(By the way, I tried to find 'the door' scene from The Haunting but couldn't. I'm sure you know which scene I mean. Scared the living crap out of me. ;) )

Pure genius:

television movie that scared the B-Jesus out of me while I watched it on youtube:

and of course....

;)

[.REC] this movie's perfect from the beginning to the end

I just watched the American version called Quarantine which got decent reviews.
It was better than I expected, could have been great. Had the perfect set up yet fell back on the blair witch project shaky camera and way to dark.
Didn't know of REC until seeing Quarantine and can't wait to see it as it is supposed to be as you rate it.

Interesting gay zombie flick,... very cool for me but that's my scene my friends weren't as impressed.
Otto is a hot gay zombie. My kind of guy. Like his style.
A dark comedy, horror, or just a mind game? Cool how the zombies are used in such a political way to represent homo phobia, bigotry
The full version is a NR or it would have been a "X" in USA.
The gay zombie orgy and sex scenes are funny but just as well could have been cut & it wouldn't hurt the movie.
Theme is only gay guys turn into zombies.

Well is saw quarantine and REC

and REC is way better...
problly due to the fact that the US version is just a copy/paste

For the original movie thy cast a real show hostess
the actors didnt know what would happen next and 90% of the movie is total improvisation
and so on...
the movie is hot

thats what makes the movie more realistic than the US version ;)

One of those original Alien trailers is still by far to me the scariest ones ever made.

bahahaha,
I only saw the first one!

Was too scared to see the second one.......

I loved Psycho. The first Night of the Dead, black and white, was pretty good too. Dead of Night was interesting as well.
