oh damn dude, did i really forget to say "As Good As It Gets"
and oh yea, do you like Kevin Spacey?

I saw "Contact" in the theater 4 times during its theatrical run in 1997. I thought it would be a contender for all the Best Picture awards until "Titanic" came in and ruined everything. I bought the VHS tape of "Contact" when it came out, then bought the DVD when it came out. Stupidly I lent the DVD to a friend and never got it back. Still haven't read the book yet, which is supposed to be better and more detailed.
The "gay dude" in "As Good As It Gets" was played by Greg Kinnear (not gay in real life, sadly).
^^Wich bathroom mirror shot? The one with her dad?
The one where she realized her dad was dead or dying, and she runs down the stairs and to the bathroom to open the medicine chest. The entire shot happens normally but then it pans out from the mirror on the medicine chest, so it makes you think that you've been watching everything up to that point in a mirror. But that would have been impossible, because the vantage point of the mirror could not see the upstairs and all that. It's a trick shot that is done so well, I didn't even realize it until I saw something that talks about it. Somewhere there's a clip, possibly on YouTube, where Robert Zemeckis explains how they did it.
AH YES!! I love that shot!
