"North by Northwest": Ah...I'd forgotten about that one. It's a great movie that I've seen several times. Ever notice the house on the hill? That's one of the most beautiful dwellings I've ever seen....
That house is a Frank Lloyd Wright house very close to Mount Rushmore.

Josh, I will say that Ordinary People is probably the single most underrated movie of the late 20th century. The acting is superb, highlighted by an absolutely inspiring choice of Mary Tyler Moore as the Mother.

Yes, I agree.

It's absolutely 'required viewing', as far as I'm concerned.

There are so many levels of emotions going through it, one never really gets to the bottom of it....

Favorite movie is a three-way tie for me. "GoodFellas", best crime movie bar none; "A Christmas Carol", but ONLY the 1951 version with Alastair Sim; and "Boys In The Band", the wittiest and most quotable movie I've ever seen.

Auntie Mame ( Warner Brothers, 1958 ) is far and away my favorite movie of all time. It's hysterically funny, riddled with wit and innuendo and some very classy slapstick; it's also wonderfully poignant without being sappy, and gives a slashing critique to the hypocrisy of conformity; some of the most fantastic costumes ever to grace the silver screen, Orry Kelly's finest work; dazzling sets and photography; and a central character that highlights Rosalind Russell's multiple talents to such an amazing extent that the author of the book (Patrick Dennis AKA Edward Everett Tanner III) whence it came reenvisioned the character based on her performance when he wrote the sequel (Around the World with Auntie Mame).

Reading some of the above, I am delighted and amused to see how many of people's all-time favorite movies also appear in the "Worst Movie You've Ever Seen" thread... and how many of them I, myself, loathed and abominated. It's all a matter of taste, I guess. :)

^ God, how gay can get this thread?
Even The Boys in the Band or Muscle Force wouldn't surpass that.

my most favorite is probably The Princess Bride, but others are:
Amadeus
Iron Giant
Manchurian Candidate
All About Eve
The General
Duck Soup
Galaxy Quest
Bringing Up Baby
Sound of Music
The Lion in Winter
oh, and Wall-E :D

So nobody liked "Bagdad Cafe".

And it seems no one liked "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" either.

Fight Club

Btw, Quanchi, I like a lot of the ones you listed. :D
