Pat and Neil have aged very well. I love Pat too. She's right up there with Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner, and Heart (and I can't forget about Joan Jett, can I?). She definitely has one of the best voices in the industry. Some of my favorite songs include: "We Live for Love," "Shadows of the Night," "I Need a Lover," "Wuthering Heights," "Treat Me Right," "You Better Run," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Heartbreaker," "I Need a Lover," "All Fired Up," and "Invincible."

You know... it's so sad to me that there just aren't many good singers left.

Gone are the days when you had Stevie, Tina, Joan, Pat, Annie, Olivia, Cyndi, Whitney... now it's all just sluts like Britney, Shania, Beyonce, Pink, Mya, Jennifer Lopez and all those other whores. Even Mariah Carey, who used to sing, now just belts out a lot of gibberish and squealing noises as loud as she can over some hip hop beat while she plays with her tits in the video and some no-name repulsive rapper brags about how she blew him.

Sure, a few like Christina Aguilera can sing, but the rest of them just have their "vocals" processed in the studio until they sound like robots. They can't sing live.. hey.. some of them like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie aren't even famous for being singers.. just for being sluts. Doesn't stop them from making records or being famous, mind you.

Gimme Pat Benetar any day, thanks.

I always thought it was about suicide. A friend of mine at school was heavily into the album at the time, and her brother's roommate had hung himself over in the Freshmen dorms. Her brother couldn't handle living there after that, and stayed in my suite for the rest of the year. We never played the song after that.

Wow. I never thought about the song like that. I thought it was simply about not letting assholes know that what they say hurts you. Interesting insights. I feel old (not really ;)). I was around DarkEmoBoi's age when the album was originally released. I loved to smoke some good weed and listen to Pat, Joan, and The Go-Go's.

Loved this song a lot in its day- but never saw it as suicidal ! If anything it's antithethetical to that, it's about not letting the bastards grind you down. Don't let it show !

I have always thought "Don't Let It Show" was an incredibly beautiful song and really showed the range Pat's voice could carry...

I love all of the selections above, but I'm going to go with "Le Bel Age". "Painted Desert", "Sex As A Weapon", "Everybody Lay Down", "Anxiety (Get Nervous)", "Little Too Late", "Looking For A Stranger", "Treat Me Right", "Promises In The Dark", "We Live For Love", "I Need A Lover", "Hell Is For Children", "Precious Time", "In The Heat Of The Night" "Ooh Ooh Song" and "Diamond Field" are other great hits.
 
Pat has an incredible catalog - hard to pick just one. "In the Heat of the Night", "Don't Let It Show", "Hell Is for Children" and "Promises in the Dark" are all songs that really show off her amazing vocals.
