What is your favorite movie(s) and performances of 2008?
I haven't seen as many films as I normally do. By now I have usually seen most of the awards front-runners. So, guess I have a lot of catching up to do!!!
But, from what I have seen:
*** "Across the Universe" -- saw it twice in the theater, best movie all year! Can not get the soundtrack out of my head. If the cd isnt playing 24/7, I am singing it to myself lol
*** "Grindhouse" -- the experience in seeing it at the theater was awesome. Not as great on dvd, but still a lot of fun. Normally not exactly the genre I congratulate, but this is an exception!
*** "Evening" -- it flopped at the box office, but the ensemble cast is beyond amazing. So much talent (Toni Collette, Claire Danes, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Vanessa Redgrave, Eileen Aitkins, Natasha Richardson)... Loved it. Depressing as hell though...
*** "Enchanted" -- Amy Adams is spot-on and defintely awards-worthy for her performance as a Disney Princess. Great movie all around. A lot of fun. So far have counted eighty-something Disney references in the film. You notice something new each time you see it!!!
I still need to see, or am dying to see: "Margot at the Wedding", "Sweeney Todd", "Juno", "Charlie Wilson's War"...
