What is your favorite movie(s) and performances of 2008?

I haven't seen as many films as I normally do. By now I have usually seen most of the awards front-runners. So, guess I have a lot of catching up to do!!!

But, from what I have seen:
*** "Across the Universe" -- saw it twice in the theater, best movie all year! Can not get the soundtrack out of my head. If the cd isnt playing 24/7, I am singing it to myself lol
*** "Grindhouse" -- the experience in seeing it at the theater was awesome. Not as great on dvd, but still a lot of fun. Normally not exactly the genre I congratulate, but this is an exception!
*** "Evening" -- it flopped at the box office, but the ensemble cast is beyond amazing. So much talent (Toni Collette, Claire Danes, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Vanessa Redgrave, Eileen Aitkins, Natasha Richardson)... Loved it. Depressing as hell though...
*** "Enchanted" -- Amy Adams is spot-on and defintely awards-worthy for her performance as a Disney Princess. Great movie all around. A lot of fun. So far have counted eighty-something Disney references in the film. You notice something new each time you see it!!!

I still need to see, or am dying to see: "Margot at the Wedding", "Sweeney Todd", "Juno", "Charlie Wilson's War"...

Best movie I saw all year: Ratatouille.
Worst movie I saw all year: Ratatouille.

...I don't get out to the movies much.

What is your favorite movie(s) and performances of 2008?
Are you living in the future? You created the post in 2007 and want to know about favourite movies and performances of this year?

My favourite movies of 2007 were The Bourne Ultimatum and Hairspray.

Movies I've seen multiple times this year. "Hairspray" - 10 times -, "Transformers" - 5 times -, and "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married" - 4 times.

Waitress
Stardust
Eastern Promises
Sweeney Todd
The Starter Wife

I loved Stardust! Eastern Promises was good...

WAITRESS was bad! It was much better a few years ago when it was called "The Good Girl" and starred Jennifer Aniston. About 10 friends came over for dinner one night and we watched WAITRESS together. We all agreed we had essentially seen the same movie before called "The Good Girl". Only difference-- one works as a waitress, and the other is a store clerk... Plus, The Good Girl, is a bit darker and doesnt try to be so "cutesy".

I have yet to see Sweeney Todd.

My first favourite movie of 2008 is Sweeney Todd. I can't wait to see it again. I still haven't seen Charlie Wilson's War. I want to see The Savages as I've heard it's really good. Cloverfield is out on my birthday so I might go and see it after work that day.
