Favourite fragance

SOTD I'm wearing:

Le Male (Jean Paul Gaultier).

I love the commercials for this fragance...

(and the music is Callas' Casta Diva... sublime).

It's either early Callas or very doctored...hmmm...

I love the commercial too...and the fragrance.

My only issue with it is a lot goes a long waaaay. And I feel that within the last month everyone I work around has been wearing it and fanning it throughout the halls and I can't get away from the scent.

An ex wore it but I still like it.

I like almost anything Guerlain makes; I'm partial to Heritage, Habit Rouge, and Vetiver especially.

But I've fallen on hard times and can't quite afford Guerlain. I've found that discount and "impostor" fragrances run the gamut from quite nice to totally icky.

Caswell-Massey - Greenbriar

Greenbriar
A handsome blend of artemisia, sage, thyme and lavender with a citrus bouquet of grapefruit, bergamot and lemon, all supported by the exotic woodiness of sandalwood, vetiver and amber. This perfectly realized blend was created as a tribute sophistication with the charm of yesteryear.

I cant help but sit here and think that all these companies that we keep flashing up bottles of cologne must be giggling at the free advertising we're giving them!!!! ;)

Still, I might as well add some too...lol...

So the 2 that I'm wearing now are polar opposites, and I honestly dont know why... and I'm sure most of you guys will laugh your heads off...

My day - work cologne

Beckham Intimately... stop it I can hear you laughing ;)... Its really spicy...

My "good" cologne...

Burberry Brit - shit does that make me old????? :eek:Its sort of lighter and casual... woody I think...

I've done the Joop thing, the Polo thing, JP seems a little too much.. Armani could be next but I just dont want to turn up with the same thing everyone else is wearing... is that weird???

I love Aramis. Classic, masculine, rich.
It lasts a long time and a little goes a long way. 2 or 3 spritzs from the bottle will get you through 24 hours.
Hmmmm

On second thought, I don't think it's Callas (what the heck was I thinking?!?!?!? )... I blame it on me being just off the bed this morning (thus half asleep) mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa ](*,)

Yep, Le Male goes a looong way... just a little lasts the whole day. That's one of the things I like about it, but it's also dangerous in the sense that if you apply just a little too much it really becomes too much!

I'm lucky in that nobody wears it at work ..| And I always get great compliments when wearing it, it really works with my skin chemistry. This is one of the few fragances I repeat when I'm done with a bottle.

Really interesting when I test it not on skin I always scent a deep cinnamon note but for some reason on my ex it took on a completely different quality and was almost powdery with the vanilla notes really clear.

This scent goes many directions based on skin chemistry as I've noticed. Someone else I knew wore it and it smelled so trashy on them while - as I mentioned - my ex smelled great with it - he actually always smelled of sophistication...

212 Sexy Men
D&G Light Blue
Thierry Mugler Angel
Burberry London (For Women) ---> I love the smells...it's kinda feminine but I like the jasmine scent

angel smells really strong, sensual and bold

I did a little hunting on the 'net and found several places to purchase Coriolan by Guerlain. It is delightful, described as a sharp woody, mossy fragrance possessing a blend of lemon, juniper and bergamot followed by hints of oakmoss, ginger, coriander and patchouli.
Ankh, thank you for starting this thread, it is both educational and enjoyable.

I like fresh and slightly sweet which is compatible with my body chemistry.

Azzaro Chrome
CKone
CKbe (but TOO sweet)
Lanvin
and many others

I prefer the subtle ones to the soapy or sweet ones. I'm wearing Cerruti 1881 most of the time and for evenings it's usually Declaration from Cartier. I used to like Kenzo until they changed it (at least I think that's what happened). My all time favourite was the original Lamborghini but that was a long time ago (sigh).

Trouble with the soapy ones is that they sit on top of you instead of becoming a part of you.

Opium? That's the one that smells like insecticide, or am I confusing it with Poison?

Me too don't like wearing too much perfume on my myself, it causes headaches and of course not everybody will like it.

So to get a lasting effect I impregnate my shirts with fragrance before I put them in the wardrobe. Next time I wear the shirts they will have a light and pleasing smell that lasts all day long.

I scored a tester of the new Hugo Boss Element on Friday.

Not bad, I reckon.

Jean Paul Gaultier - Le mâle
Kenzo - L'eau pour homme
Diesel - Fuel for life

I have to admit something. I know shit about colognes and fragrances and everything. But I absolutely love Curve. It. Is. My. FAVORITE. I don't know what specific kind I like but I'm pretty sure I love all of them.

There was another one my sister got me once called Lucky. I loved that stuff too.
