I love stories like this. They are still trying to find Bachmann guilty of something. Hoping they continue until they actually find something. This comes with an unrelated video that I haven't seen before.

It's a rare story when you get TWO Republican Presidential candidates in one scandal, but the Kent Sorenson story gives you that.

FBI officials executed a search warrant at former state Sen. Kent Sorenson’s home two weeks ago and confiscated computers and other materials connected to presidential campaign politics, his lawyer told The Des Moines Register today.

“We were not notified that he was the target of any investigation,” attorney Theodore Sporer told the Register. “They took computers and things that would be used to verify or validate communications with presidential entities.”

1. Was there probable cause?
2. Was a search warrant issued?
3. Were any laws broken?

I don't like stories like this. However more on the side of the angels you think you and those you support are, partisan witch hunts(and mind you, I loathe Bachmann especially and all she stands for) only will mean your hated party can do the same to their opponents and you have no moral credibility whatsoever to stand on. Ends DON'T justify the means and this is not something ANY federal agency should be allowed to do. ..or ANY party that controls the branches of government.
 
So the FBI is the Gestapo now. Or are they the Gestapo because they searched someone with right wing republican connections...

They searched someone BECAUSE they had conservative connections.
 
If the sole reason they searched the house was for political reasons, that should be something any genuine liberal or small government conservative would be appalled by. It would be the same if a conservative White House used federal agencies to do its bidding to subvert progressive opponents. Doesn't matter if they are wrongheaded pricks who are vile people...you don't get to subjectively unleash the power of the federal government to harass your opponents. It's wrong when anyone does this because the law then becomes an instrument to enforce what those in power want. The law applies to everyone... or at least that should be what we strive for.
 
I'm not following your statement. The article doesn't say it was for political reasons. They had a search warrant and the FBI gets search warrants on other citizens and take their PCs etc. If you know of another link that says it was for political reasons then I might change my opinion.

The FBI and IRS both are traditional weapons used by the federal government against LGBT rights organizations, so naturally we are sensitive to this type of harassment.

The people claiming our legal system is being used to beat up their team are just as ignorant as anyone who would give a carte blanche pass to their own party. The sad thing is they only SAY people are giving a pass when they are on the losing end of an argument.

Ben, you are correct, they searched for political reasons. Those being that the suspect was involved in a political manipulation of some sort and broke the law. So you are in part correct. However, the Obama controls gravity arguments just make ya look like a tin foil hat saleman. So how much for a shiny fedora... Sausy needs a hat =)

Seriously guys, does Obama control everything? Limbaugh is saying that now that the economy is getting better, that it really isnt. The Obama mind control trick is making Americans spend so much more this season.
