Guys this film is completely crap, the sex scene was good but the storyline was completely homophobic.... Gay guy fucks girl but not gay guy fucks girl and than becomes straight. The line in the end when he says I was gay but as soon as I met you something changed was crap. The lead actor was not hot overall just watch the straight scene at around an hour into the film after don't bother as the gay guy becomes straight....its a film christian people would use to convince young gay teens.....

That's what I got out of it too. But the lead actor is really gay in real life, so if it's based on his life, he fell off the wagon.

I felt like the movie was more complex than that. He seemed to still have some kind of feelings for his ex in their last scene together, and the woman, rather than agreeing with what he was saying about what had changed since he met her, told him he needed to go figure out who he was. I took the movie as being about a man who had no identity and was trying to find one, rather than a gay to straight plotline.
 
Here's an interview with him about the movie. It's a lot of pretentious talk but he says it's not really about labels, it's just about human connection.

There are actually quite a lot of European films and shows that have gay men sleeping with women. Interestingly though, it strongly varies from country to country. For example in French productions, I got the impression that nearly every gay character is at least open to women or has sex with one if only the opportunity arises. Same goes for some countries in Eastern and Southern Europe. In Germany on the other hand, strangely only lesbians sleep or fall in love with members of both sexes. Gay men are almost always "strictly dickly". And IF they ever do dabble in women you get a typical reason for this like alcohol, drugs or something like that.

The only two real exceptions from the recent past I can think of right now are the movie Coming In (which actually flopped big time) and a TV show called Lena Lorenz. The show has a gay couple in it and in the episode "Gegen alle Zweifel" a girl has a crush on one of the boys. At first he's reluctant to her but after she finally stops trying to flirt with him and accepts that he is gay, he suddenly kisses her and we see a very short but quite romantic sex-scene. (It's actually his first time ever with a girl.) Later his BF finds out about him cheating and is obviously mad, especially because it was with a woman. He even suspects that his boyfriend can't be gay then and breaks up with him... However, a few episodes later, they get back together.

Was Coming In the one with the politician, the one about the guy who drunkenly slept with a women and then ended his gay relationship for her, or the one where the guy is a hairstylist who gets a head injury and becomes straight? I distinctly remember those three being movies with this subject, but I can't remember their titles.

Though I think there might also be another one, can't remember the name but the plot was something along the lines of some lady sneaks out of her apartment into the next one and there's some really hot gay guy who shacks up with her while his sugar daddy (or something along those lines) is out.

There's a lot (some have been mentioned here I think before) of non English ones, so it's hard to find them online, let alone with subtitles.

Diverso da Chi (?) is the one about the politician. I Kissed A Girl is the one about the drunken sex. Svingeri/Swingers (and its many remakes) is the one about the window. I think there are two movies called Coming In - totally different movies and stories (one with the head injury). This is the one being mentioned, I think...and yes it's impossible to find. The most I've seen are some clips on Scenes of Male Skin. I'm sorry to hear it flopped.

Thanks for telling us about Lena Lorenz. It is just about impossible to ever find any new information on shows.

Here's the episode - I think the specific scenes start about an hour and 16 minutes in. It's very sweet. How refreshing to see a show allow a young gay man to explore his sexuality in a way tht isn't grim and needlessly angst-ridden.

I do notice Germany has men drunk or out of it most of the time. When "Forbidden Love" was still on, they would have Christian (who had been straight before he found love with a man and was then suddenly gay) mostly just cheat with women if he was drunk. I think they did this twice with him. And there was another German soap that did this once - was it All That Matters, with Deniz? (I know he also briefly got involved with a woman, and has since reverted to completely straight since his partner died).

All That Matters also had Deniz bf Roman have drunken sex with a woman, but they never show anything (kissing, etc) and they just play it off as a drunken mistake no-one needs to know about.
 
Yes, I actually do know about many more shows that contain this topic. I'm born in the 80s and even though I considered myself gay from very early on, I was always kind of fascinated by gay guys sleeping with women. As a teenager I even recorded a lot of those shows on DVD. (Which is kinda strange because I only much later realized that I am into women as well.) I haven't watched most of these DVDs in ages now, but I still own them. I will post about it here from time to time.

Meanwhile here is a French mini series called "I Love You Two" from 2018. The whole show is available with subtitles on YT, although they divided it in 12 small parts. It's about a gay couple who plan to start a family. Both are gay but one of them had a girlfriend in his teenage years. One day he meets her again and immediately falls in love with her, totally to his own surprise. They have sex and enter a relationship. Of course his BF doesn't know about her and she doesn't know about him being gay. Later on, because he feels lonely and he is aware that something is wrong, his BF has a one night stand with a female, too.

Thanks! Another I'd never have known about. So refreshing to see this as a topic. France really does seem to be more willing to break these taboos. Do we see the boyfriend with a woman or is it just mentioned? I see him and his lesbian friend making themselves have sex to conceive a baby.
