How long did it take you to finish the game? And is the end as good as people are saying it is?

No I haven't started it up yet. I'd like to, but alas I'm going to be nice and wait till the weekend to show it off to the boyfriend and other people who want this game.

For now I have to beat that bloody Dirge Of Cerberus Game.

Microsoft fucks everything up. They should just disappear.

I'll officially start my game as soon as I get that damn memory card in the mail. It should get here hopefully today, if not tomorrow. I don't think I can wait any long after that. I may just go to GameStop and buy one there.

Um...nothing really. Just that the two I own are full and there's nothing on there I'm willing to delete. So I had to get a new one. You get them cheaper online, but you have to wait for shipping. Urgh.

It's the regular black PS2 8MB memory card. I got it for like $10, new! Deal, huh?

I goto Wal-Mart because they're rather inept there and sell TWO official PS2 memory cards for the price of one...because they're morons here... So I have 3, one is empty.... My sister has one and that's only why I have three and not four.

Are you talking about this one? I've seen those around, but I can't myself to get them. All my PS2 stuff is black. My memory cards must match. Anal retentive. I know, I know.

The red & blue cards was Sony's response to all the people bitching about the expensive black ones back when the PS2 came out.. When you think about it, it's quite a lot to pay for 8MB, especially when you can get 60x that for the same price.

Thank god they kept the black ones around...god knows what I would've done without them. Probably spray painted the red ones black.

I've been meaning to ask, how is that Cerberus game? RPG?

It's reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid, minus serious stealth action.

It's camera is kinda shitty...and the Action is broken up by the plethora of cut scenese.

It's level up system is interesting to say the least. You have the choice of leveling up or trading your EXP for gil.

It's alright. I'm truly only playing it for the story and tying up the loose ends of VII.
It's not bad, it's easy... really linear though. But hey it's not SO bad.

It's like Devil may Cry meets Metal Gear Solid. Oh the Voice acting on most characters is sub-par I suggest playing with sub-titles because half the time they illegible.

It be great if the Camera was better and the action wasn't so broken up.

Hmmm. I'll pick it up after I finish Final Fantasy XII, and Bully.

The voice acting on FFXII isn't bad. I expected it to be god awful, but it's pretty good, actually. Basch's voice is right on.

PENELO = Death. I hate her already.

In every FF game there has always been one character I abhor. FFVII it was Aerith. In FFVIII it was Selphie. In FFIX it was Eiko. In FFX it was Yuna. And in FFXII it's Penelo.

I mean I'm sure her name is not pronounced like I think it is..but god...I hate the sound of her really. "Pee-Na-Low."

Vaan says her name in the game...but I completely forgot how he pronounces it. I say it Pee-Nee-Low. It just makes me hate her that much more.

Reminds me of this movie with the lady that played Zelda in Sabrina the Teenage witch and Claire from Six Feet Under...and a bunch of other people...like Bruce Campbell....and he called the girl Penelope "Pee-Na-Lope" ad she was stupid So I'm doing hate association here.

I got the collector's edition and collector's guide on Tuesday. I actually like Penelo *ducks for cover*. I'm barely into the game so far (I'm at the part where Vaan is roaming the city), so i don't have much of a sense of Penelo's character other than that she's more mature than Vaan, but I'm always drawn to Final Fantasy's obligatory sprite girl (Yuffie, Selphie, Rikku, etc.). I can't help it.

I finished the main story, plus a couple of sidequests after about eighty hours. That included a ton of power-leveling (sometimes, brawn really does beat brains...) and just standing somewhere to stare at the sights. I didn't really care for Penelo, but I'm glad that they didn't run her into the whiny character type. The voice-acting, save Fran's, is simply excellent.

Dirge of Cerberus was grade-A bullshit. The only thing worthwhile in that waste of two dollars were the CGI movies.

Can you NOT save on the world map? I'm a bit confused by that.

Um...how did you not try? You should be able to save in the world map. When you're traveling from city to city, right? Is this really the only FF game you can't do that in?

There is no world map. Well there is, but you don't use it in a sense like, travel between places in a jiff until you get late in the game. And there's a save point right before you get to do that travel-in-a-jiffy-thing, so yeah, no need I guess.

Oh my god...so you have to go back to a save crystal to save?! You just can't save anywhere?!!! That's...insane!

It's going to take some getting used to.

Anyway, I just finished navigating the Barheim Passage, and I'm on my way back to Rabanastre, but I'm taking my time kill everything I lay eyes on...except for the T-Rexs.

How far off is Nabudis? I would look it up in the guide, but there's no index.
