Oh, don't be jealous of the fact that I may or may not end up with the coolest weapon in all of Final Fantasy history at my disposal!!! Bwhahahahahaha!!

Hear those bongos? Yeah man, the spirits are comin' for ya!

I'm like ten hours into the game! Come on.

You will miss so much without the guide. By now you've probably already missed a hunt or two, possible even lost the chance to get the strongest weapon in the game. I'm still shocked at how many side quests there are. It's insane.

@Theyoungman: How do you level up quickly? I'm at level 19 with mostly everyone...except Fran...she's at 15 right now. Which isn't so bad! I haven't been ignoring her completely.

You sould get that Guide book. YOu have already past the part where you can level up fast. The guide doesn't tell you because its a trip that takes some good reflexes, determination, patience, and you need to give Vaan the first quickening spell.

I'll try to explain. You you want to, you can start over (I already did once), You must beat the mission where you have to get the SUNSTONE (with Penelo). Make sure you have built up enough License point to get the closet quickening spell north of Vaan's grid.

After you get that, prepare yourself to go through the Dalmascan Western Lands (make sure your by yourself). Run directly west, hold down R2 and avoid all the enemies that you can (because they can kill you fast). Keep running until you reach a "teleport save crystal". Once you've reached that you should have already seen the big bird (its nuetral) flying very near the enterance of the save point.

Save your game and get ready to beat the shit out of that bird with a ton of quickenings. Heres how its done: If you already know how to take advantage of the quickening spell, then you should have minimal problems getting multiple hits on any target. Use it on the bird (from a distnace) and just rapidly mash the X and R2 buttons (press X faster than R2).

The bird is a level 27-28 and has over 4022-90hp and will take away around 400 of your hp if he attacks you (or he can just comit suicide on you and exploxed which can denfenitly kill you, but will probably only try once). After you attack it, if you didn't kill it, run back to the save point, restore you Hp and MP and do it again. ONce you kill it, save the game, quit back to the menu and load the game again and do it again because if you don't the bird won't reappear for about ten minutes. Make sure you never let him get close when you attack it. Just run back and forth to and from the save point.

There is a 25% it will hit you once throughout the whole thing, if you are fast.

Repeat this over and over and you will level extremely fast. You should reach level 20 in under 4 or 5 hours of your game time.

PS: If you get lucky, the bird might drop a very rare Burning Bow. This is the most powerful weapon that you can get this early in the game. It has 65 attacking power. Jusy make sure you have the lisence to use it. It is 3 lisences under Swords 1. I was lucky enough to get one.

Now you can continue with the game... ..|

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope it helps you guys out or gives you battling tips. :gogirl:

PS: If you already grabbed the tresure chest in front of Dalan's house (one of the chests your not suppose to touch), then you won't be getting that Zodiac Spear (most power weapon in the game) later on.

I suggest that you start over and get that Book if you want the most out of the game.

See ya! :D

PS; I forgot to mention the bird will give you from 1900 to 2100 EX points when you kill it.

FUCK!!!! Where the hell were you a week ago?!!? I so don't want to start over right now...

I have the strategy guide already, by the way.

During the SunStone time, I did venture out a bit, but I got to a place where the standing up birds, whatever they're called, were a bit harder to kill, so I just gave up and went on with my mission. I think that's the path I should have taken to fight the bird you're talking about. Urgh. I wonder how long before I get back to Rabanastre.

Thanks much for typing it all out, by the way! ^_^

The birds I was talking about only fly. I wasn't talking about the ones you encounter. You just ignore all the nenemies and just run straight west until you reach that save point. the bird is at the enterance to the save point. You will havea a mission wherey ou have to pass through there. If you tried this earlier its hard to do. it doesn't take long to get back to Ranbastre
after you get a higher level. Just make sure you avoid the monster that are up to level 40 and over.

Anyway. Your welcome. :)

Hey, once you're back in Rabanastre, how hard is it to kill the T-Rexs? I've been dying to do it.

And I understand about the flying birds. But I remember an area where the birds things that walked were considerably stronger than the others. Straight through that area is probably what you were talking about. But like I said, I pussied out and left.

I really need to sit down and play. I've had the game for nearly two weeks, and I'm only 10 hours in! That's ridiculous!

!

Not really. Your still too weak to take him down alone at level 20. It would be the same situation that you would be in if you tried fighting him at under level 10, but you wouldn't die as fast.

I suggest you fight him much later because the only way to beat him by yourself at level 30 and lower is to use quickening and avoid being attacked by him.

I dunno if I missed anything. I had the hunt system explained to me and now I'm out to get the rogue tomato.

Maybe I'll see if there's an FAQ and use that until I get the guide.

Yeah both Fran and Larsa sound awsome. Vaan sounds like he has a whinny voice.

PS: Do you ever get eh feeling that Vaan and penelo are brother and sister because they look so much alike?

You just got me hyped to play the game, soI'm going to turn it on. See ya!!!

Yay! I won a guide on Ebay :P

I'mt oo weak and I'm only about 2 hours into the game. I got my ass kicked by the Mutant Wolf or whatever.

Yes. And after playing for 4-some hours and gaining the Protect spell and being at level 8, I beat that bitch.

I'm soooo weak. It's very refreshing.

I have some fond recollections of the times when enemies had HP less than one freaking million. Stupid Zodiac Monster.

I seriously want to have Baltheir's babies. Or Basch's.

so ... i've been trying to do two of the mark hunts, lost in the pudding and crime and punishment, both in Garamsythe Waterway, but for the life of me can not enter the other gate that leads you where the hunts are. Am I doing something wrong?:(

 Just wait till you boys meet up with Al-Cid

Whilst browsing my artbook my eyes befell his figure and I was stricken....
His accent's ok, I like the accents in this game. Fran and the rest of the bunny gals are just so sexy. Eastern euro chicks with thick accents get this gay boy doubting himself...

Anyway, I love the direction of this game. Sometimes i feel that Vaan is just a side character, he doesn't seem to have many of the heavy issues most protagonists in FF have.

Basch = brawn, the hariy caged scene won him a permanent spot in my party.
Balthier gets a bit annoying...
The Viera frighten me... the scenes where they talk to the wood.... I think the Viera are one of my fav additions to FF. FFXI had the cat girl mithra but that fell to a meh imo.

But I must say again... Al-Cid, is the sex :gogirl:

There's only one gate leading to Garamsythe now, the one where you first killed the rats at the beginning of the game. There should be a huge door to the East when you come in, jsut go through, then stick to the sides so you can reach the very bottom. I have to warn you though, the fiends there are a little on the difficult side if you just got the hunt.

I agree that the Viera are very beautiful. They lok almost like the playboy bunny things.

Anyway. Vaan feels like a side character because he is just along for the ride, just like penelo. They don't know their purpose in the whole thing. Vaan decides to just go along for the ride to find he purpose, so him finding his purpose in the whole thing is his story. Sure it doesn't feel right, but it doesn't nbother me at all.

You know...I've loved Final Fantasy since the beginning of the series! I just don't love it as much as these guys do!

I'm at lv. 8 and the killing is good, especially with Penelo in the party, but I know she leaves after the sunstone mission is completed.

But while I had her, I took the opp. to kill that fucking flowering cactoid. It was all good, I could survive the hordes of monsters it called to its aid when I was just Vaan, but he would run out of MP to blast that little fucker. Whenever I would get close, it would eventually use 1000 needles on me.

Thank god Penelo had 50+ mp. Fuck you flowering cactoid!!!

I seriously lurve this game.
