Florida or California?

Prices of real estate have dropped quite a bit in California. You don't have to spend $500k unless you want to. Depends on the type of home you are looking for. There are some places that are under $200k now. It depends on what you want, the area you want to live in, etc. Gay people tend to flock to beautiful places. Beautiful places tend to be more costly to live in because the demand is higher. So the most gay friendly areas tend to cost more than other areas.

Lets said just a nice regular neighborhood in LA near no where popular like the tv studios and stuff. for 150k is that possible? In a good Neighborhood

I've only been to Cali, but I'd say California anyways because I prefer more of a dry heat than humidity, and yeah it seems like there are more conservative people in Florida than in California. In Cali I would probably want to live in the cities of San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles (in that order).

You can a 2 bedroom condo in a suburb for as little as $100k.

Prices vary a lot depending on the city. Venice Beach next to the beach, you can't find anything...even a shack for under a million...inland...the prices get a lot cheaper.

You could live in a beautiful city like pasadena and the single family homes start at $200k. As you move farther east form that, it typically gets cheaper.

$150k single family home is a little tougher to find.

Here is a small home in Eagle Rock (which is in between Glendale and Pasadena) for $100k: http://www.realestate.com/CA/Los-An...-Angeles-CA-90041-22144908-home-for-sale.aspx

Do a $50k remodeling job...add some bedrooms...and you have a $150k home.

I've lived in South Florida for a little while.I really can't stand the fucking place,or any part of Florida for that matter.

South Florida is like Brooklyn with Palm trees..Full of pushy N.Y Jews and Guidos...I grew up around both, and I really don't have much use for either of them..

In Florida, especially in the summer, it's hotter than Satan's balls. The humidity is incredibly oppressive. Also, then you have the bugs that you need a .38 to kill..

If you venture more than 3 miles west of I-95 ,you're dealing with crazed rednecks. No thanks.Miami is only slightly better, but no one speaks a fucking word of English. That can get a little tiresome. But at least you can get laid in South Beach..

California is no bargain either.Outside of San Diego and a few places up north, that state state is a shithole too..

I'd say the hell with both of them and move to Portland Oregon..

Very well said..|

If you like earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires, and drive by shootings you can have Cali...and the 3 strikes law is ridiculous. A person can get sent to jail for life (the taxpayers paying for it) for stealing a slice of pizza.

This is the first time I've ever heard anyone say they don't like California because of mudslides and wildfires. LOL.

I wonder how the neighborhoods are

Now i saw houses in Sacramento and they are very affordable i was amazed on how cheap and nice the houses are in Sac. I done research on that city and it seems pretty interesting and its very nice from the pictures downtown and stuff. I know Sac is a little rough around the edges with crime.

Like this house in Sac a house in nj in my town for 99k would be a old run down duplex that needs to be Tear down.

Both have beaches, but in Cali the water is so cold all year long you can't go in unless you have a wetsuit.

and good luck getting on the beach in Malibu, they have that shit gated up and there is no access between the homes that are built like row houses.

Wow. Didn't know that about Malibu.

First thing I'd do is get medical insurance and find a doc that can recommend me the right plants to cure my "insomnia."

You don't even need medical insurance. Just go to a marijuana doctor for $100. They issue you a prescription card and then you can go to any medical marijuana store and buy whatever kind looks appealing. Too bad proposition 19 didn't pass, but it will someday. Regular weed is $200 for 1/4 pound. No one really cares about it if you're not bothering anyone.

I've lived 3 blocks from the ocean in San Diego for 21 years. I love it here and wouldn't dream of moving. Temperate climate, health-conscious society, low humidity, great place for exercise, and love my year round garden. Decent air quality and we're not near a major fault line.

As a born-and-bred Floridian I can certifiably tell you that Florida is shit. The people down here are psychotic, the weather sucks, the job market is almost non-existent, and it's one of the poorest states when it comes to LGBT rights.

I'm not kidding about the weather; it's completely unpredictable, and a cool day half the year is upper 80's.

Thats my impression of Florida. And it's conservative. And it's always in the news with it's thousands of pedophile teachers and missing children. Did I mention it's humid as hell?

No thanks florida. Give me Cali. :sex:

HI GOOD MORNING MY NAME IS ANTHONY
WHAT´S UP

The water is cold...however...i have a friend that has a home on venice beach and he swims in the ocean almost every day, all year long, without any wet suit, when he is at that home.

Wow. He must have a high tolerance for cold. I'm the same way. I can't swim but although it's November I still take cold showers sometimes.

I like SoCal a whole damn lot.... I dunno about the rest of the state... even LA because I havent spent much time at all. I flew into SF and it looked incredible just flying over to make a connection so it is on the bucket list.

I have been in Florida quite a bit too.

So if I had to choose I would say Cali.... florida is desolate in most areas and I didnt get the same vibe from the people.

As far as weather and disaster goes you have to choose what happens 99% of the time and Cali wins that too. Everywhere on earth has some shitty natural event that can kill ya if your not prepared.

Finally, someone mentioned being close to Mexico... that my friends is a total plus.
