I just saw this on Perez. Disgusting.
SICK!

Chinese chefs have come up with a way to keep a fish alive while deep frying it! It even keeps trying to breathe while waiting to be eaten and people pick at it!

Wow, I hate PeTA, but even I think this is cruel

Ugh I saw it on perez too and that is so fucked up. Why would they come up with such a ridiculous way of cooking/eating an animal like that? Its like the purposely tried to harm it just to come up with something exotic to eat.

Yeah I got to agree that is very cruel the thing can't breath, half its body is burned and fried, and it is being eaten. I expect PETA to comment.

The chef is an idiot !!!

I'm not religious but living things are for food only and not to make fun off.

There are some species of carp which are known to be almost impossible to kill, not unlike zombies. This may be one. Or, the fish may be having residual neuromuscular type movements post-dispatch. I don't know but I don't think the fish looks actually alive, just moving.

Is a chicken with its head chopped off alive as it flaps about?

If the fish could be considered fully dead, I don't find it aesthetically appealing. It's a superfluous indication of freshness. Besides, fish heads are tasty and should generally be eaten.

Well, lobsters are kept in small tanks until a consumer comes along to select the one they wish to eat. Then it's boiled alive. What's the diff?

I find the idea appalling too, but I don't think the practice is any different than our practice of boiling and consumers lobsters.

Ya I can't fathom what compels them to be that cruel. At least kill it properly before you eat. Seems to me eating things alive is some kind of trend in china. Here's another video .

The difference is they are making fun of the fried fish but still alive.
People who don't respect animal is not good.

I understand how the foodchain works, but that's just cruel! No way in hell could I eat something that is blinking, moving, and with a beating heart. Gross! I am so glad I have a strong stomach for this kind of material or those videos (the second one was even more disturbing) would have made me very ill!

That's why I never had lobsters. But on their defense, they don't serve it alive. They boil the whole thing before it is being served.

It's insanity! Have you seen the fur farm video ("courtesy" of PETA) that shows various animals (cats/dogs/raccoons/etc.) being skinned alive while they blink, bark and writhe around? That trumps this fish video by a mile. I was severely disturbed.

Both videos show butchering on the upper belly. This indicates evisceration to me. Though I'm unsure, I suspect there isn't a beating heart. Perhaps the guts have indeed been left intact? Chinese chefs?

I would like to do the same to those that find that funny.

I can't be too sure, but I've seen similiar videos. It is all horrible. I remember in high school in my peace studies class, we watched a video involving similiar cruelity. Watching cows getting branded, pigs left to hang upside down while squirming in their uncomfortable wounds, and other horrific stuff. I'm surprised I didn't become a veggie!

Oh? Hmm I see. I'm not the most technically minded when it comes to that stuff #-o All I know is if it is blinking, I'm not eating it!

First the octopus, now a fish :(

In Japan they do a similar thing but make sashimi/sushi with the meat and serve it beside the carcass with the head and fins still moving. I've heard some places do it right in front of the diners. They eat dolphin and whale as well simply because it's exotic.

WW2 made the whole world USA and the world went vegan because of it?
