I just read through the thread today, and I am too really frustrated that you haven't done anything after all this time!
You guys are obviously at a level where I think he'd accept you for who you are (I mean, a photo of you and him on his bed, right?!), so either you can start coming on to him, or just take the route of having a deep talk about your feelings for him. I really don't think it's healthy where it's at anymore.

Take it from someone who's been in this situation before. You have to basically take a look at it all and weigh the advantages and the disadvantages.
Advantages -
1. could create a long lasting relationship with someone you care about.
2. ease your mind after months of craziness. (you seem to be really really stressed - NOT GOOD)
Disadvtanges
1. Potentially ruin a great friendship.
In the end, i think for your own sake you have to make a move. It's destroying you inside and you owe it to yourself to find out if there's anything there. It's not healthy to be going through all this. Believe me, i've been there for. My story: Years ago, I had lusted over this guy and we flirted all the time (who was st8 at this point). One day we were just cuddling on the couch and i just leaned in and kissed this guy. It lead to 2hrs of kissing and making out and will probably go down as the hottest night ever. Man we were great at kissing.! hahaha
Anyways back to your story.... you have to be dumb to not think there's a connection there. My only thing is that even know he wants this (i'm sure of it) he still may react negatively. you have to expect that. I believe he'll be into it but i wouldn't push it too far for the first time. Maybe some cuddling, rubbing and kissing. Nothing too crazy.... BEST OF LUCK

I must have been under a rock to have missed this thread, since Coming Out and Relationships is one of my favorite forums, anyway ... I've read this entire thread and this is what I have to say:
I don't feel bad for you ... I think the "tearing me appart emotionally" you're experiencing is all of your own doing. All the signs are there that this guy has a thing for you and the subtle physical hinting back and forth is just building up frustration for both of you. Years ago I myself have been where you are now - twice - too shy to make a move, and I discover later on that these two guys were in fact gay and bi, repectively, and wanted to play - now I live with those regrets knowing that these guys would not have ended friendships had we made moves (now of course time has passed and we've moved on to our own relationships, so there's no longer any curious needs between us). No honest-to-goodness straight guy in his early 20s is gonna sleep in the same bed with a guy in such close proximity night after night and suddenly quash his active interest in girls. Sorry

sorry for the late update, ive been really busy and depressed lately.
seeing that my friend lives quite far from me now there arent many experiences.
theres not much i can say anymore.
We do however chat to each other EVERY day.
I asked him the other day if he misses me and he replied with "Misses me Allot!!!!"
Im gonna visit him soon, were gonna be alone again. Do you guys think it will be wierd if I ask him if i can sleep like we did last time "in the same bed" will he think its wierd, because there are other beds in the house.
I just want to lay in his arms

If he sleeps in your bed with asking, just ask it, as if it were a perfectly normal thing.
However, I've to the conclusion that relationships with friends don't work out - having said that, that's from my own personal experience, and ultimately, it's a decision you have to make.
Nobody can tell you what to do, you have to learn it for yourself!

Were there other beds during the other times? You should say something like, "Hey we should have a slumber party like old times..." Then see what he says about it when you say it in a joking way.

I dunno, this thread does confuse me, I can't believe you guys have gone so long without at least doing something other than slight spooning. Oh well, I think you're just going to have to take a gamble or regret it the rest of your life.
Just echoing what other people have said already, you will either lose your friend or lose yourself. Personally, I would take the loss of a friend, at least you could COPE with that, as opposed to just being absolutely tortured as to whether or not anything will ever happen.

A few years ago, I had a long time, dear, friend out at my family's place on Cape Cod, on Wellfleet harbor. My parents were there, too. It was a little, tiny, thin(interior)-walled, ranch-style, two bedroom, "cottage". Den, and I, had been to P-town, and had "a few".
We were out on the patio, about 2am, having a smoke, when I said, "I think it's time to get naked, and snuggle!" So ... we did! Mind you ... our bedroom had two twin beds, and our closet bordered on my parent's room closet. Still, sound travelled ...
We went back inside, dropped our clothes, and snuggled up together in "my" bed (right next to the closet). I was "spooning" with Den, his back to me (I get too warm when someone is holding me), and nothing else "happened". We just slept together. (Quietly!)
Next night, we didn't go into P-town, but did walk around the harbor with my parents. When we got back to the house, it was suggested we check for ticks. Den, and I, went into our room, and got as far as taking off our shirts. I found a tick on my shoulder, and immediately went back out to the living room, so Dad could get it off me, with a tweasers. By the time I got back into "our" room, Den was fast asleep in his own bed.
The night after that, we were back in P-town, and had a serious run-in with our buddy "Captain Morgan"! (And a nearly naked bartender at the "A-house"!) After bar close, we "discoverd" the "dick-dock", in the rain, while everyone else was at "Spartan Pizza"! Nothing really happened (well ... a few "low key things" did), and Den somehow ended up with a "new" cap, from who knows who, and also managed to loose his drivers' license and credit card! (Never did recover those! And ... nothing "happened" with them, either!) But, I also remember the two of us holding each other up as we weaved back to the car on the P-town dock. I also remember Den taking the keys away from me, and we slept, in the car, in the rain, for a few hours.
We got back to the house a little before 5am! And, without a word, Den, and I, were "naked spooning" in "my" bed, again. (And, once more, nothing "happened"!)
At around 2pm, as I was waking up, I rolled away from a warm, naked, Den, and fell flat on the floor! Luckily, I didn't get hurt!
There is a lot more to this rambling story ... but ... my point is ... just "merely" sleeping naked with your "Buddy" can be a marvelous thing! And though we had "done things", with each other before this trip, just snuggling up to Him, completely naked, was more than enough, that time around! In fact, I may cherish "that time" more than the previous others!
Over the last ... who knows how many years ... Den has been living with his Husband in Melbourne! It's been TOO long since "My" Kev, and I, have seen Den and Stephen!
Sex with your friend would be GREAT!
But ... if it may not fully "cum" to that, "just" naked snuggling can be far more Precious!
