My first coming out was to my best girl friend, last year. Few days before the actual coming out, i told her that i really needed to talk to her in private when she had some free time. She said ok.
Over the next following days, she was always either busy or not reachable (which was strange), and that change in her attitude started to annoy me big time, because she knew perfectly well how important it was to me. Days pass and i run into her, confront her about avoiding me, and demand a 1-on-1 talk later that day.
The conversation went like this:
Me: (nervous as hell, dry throat and all) Yeah..... You know.... Errr..... Well.... i'm kinda.. gay.
She: (starts laughing)
Me: (wtf..)
She: (relieved) That's cool, bla bla (+rest of the support speech). I was afraid you'd say... that you were in love with me.
Me: (face palm) Oh god... No. You're a girl. Eww. I wouldn't even touch you with a stick. (laugh)

She had a history of messed up friendships because guys managed to fall in love with her. She was afraid i was one of them.
Ah, foolish little girl. <3
