Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

It has nothing to do with "concepts about choice", vague or otherwise.
If, after having assigned us authority over Creation, God stepped in and started interfering with every last individual life -- or, for that matter, even one -- what would His word be worth?

One minute, you state evil is a consequence of making free choices, the next that choice doesn't bear on the situation. Now, the problem is actually a different vague concept, that of supernatural fealty...regarding interference...with us...about something...

If you ask me, a god that willingly allows foot-roasting has bigger problems than a reputation for half-baked promises. Personally, I'd take the half-baked promises if I were you.

You highlighted minor elements and missed the point. Your error is sort of like looking at a new minivan and saying, "It's just like a barn -- they both have doors!"

There's no comparison in my statement, God chooses to do nothing to stop children from being tortured to death because we haven't comported ourselves with his wishes? so this is nonsense.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

When I ask if you are satisfied by the answer you are giving, I mean in general. ...

... I think if your answer really is satisfactory you would be willing to give it to the parents. You think the answer is adequate, so you would say something as you already stated "Your daughter was burnt to death because of poor human behavior; God is good, and though he could have prevented your daughter's prolonged misery, torture and death, he allowed it so that we could do something about such things."

If you could give a reply like this, I agree with you that you really do find your answer satisfactory, and there is no problem with god's un-willingness to prevent evil. (I would not give this reply.)

However, if you think such a reply about the daughter's miserable death is lacking something, then it doesn't seem like a satisfactory answer after all.

Your underlying premise seems to be, as is purported by most Modern religions, that God is actively watching over, and keeping track of, Everything that is happening in Creation. He is, additionally, capable of intervening, directing, manipulating, Everything that transpires, right down to the tiniest of details.

In other words, We, and Everything around Us, are under His Control through the Grace of His divine Will. That premise completely negates any concept the He granted US Free Will.

That view goes even further to give Us a convenient excuse to justly deny our Own Responsibility, and Culpability, for Our actions and inactions. "That has nothing to do with Us/Me because God let it happen."

I have to respectfully disagree with that basic contention.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Let's go with this for a moment ...

Supposedly, we are created in His image. Each of us are a little piece of God. Therefore, He does have care, and concern, for Us, and how we're doing. However, not being a Puppet Master, He also granted Us "Free Will".

pHeassed down his wishes, and desires, for the ways we might comport ourselves,
but also left it up to Us as to whether we would listen, and follow, or not.

We're also free to misinterpret, and even purposefully distort, His teachings. We are the ones left to create/manipulate the conditions in which we live here on Earth.

"Good" and "Evil" do, indeed, become evident through Our choices, and Our actions, because we Know how to "behave", but choose not to.

God is not a dictator nor interventionist. It is Through US that His positive intentions are carried out, or not. We are the physical beings in the physical World. We can choose to accept that Responsibility, or even deny and/or actively work against it.

What happens here is not God's doing, it is Ours. :goodevil: #-o ](*,)

So he intervened long enough to pass down his wishes and desires to us, and then never intervened again???

Yeah! Our Loving Parent kicked us out of the nest so we would learn to fly on our own. (o) ..| (group)

Our loving parent letting us fly?

View attachment 1055206

On July 4, 1946, eleven guards of the Stutthof concentration camp were publicly hanged for what was described as "sadistic abuse of prisoners." Among those hanged were five women: Gerda Steinhoff, Wanda Klaff, Jenny-Wanda Barkmann, Ewa Paradies and Elisabeth Becker, all of whom had been judged and sentenced during the first Stutthof Trial, at Gdańsk between April 25 and May 31, 1946.

Not sure how this relates to funny anti-religious pics?

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

I fail to see how a "loving parent," who intervened at one point before, could allow his children to be so cruel to each other. He obviously kicked his children out of the nest too soon, when they were too immature, and should now be sued by the state for neglect.
