This is excellent news. Just in time for election day.

No, a week before election day. You want it to tighten up a couple days before, not a week before.

That is Gallup's "traditional" model. If you've read fivethirtyeight.com's analysis of that model, it's not exactly the best. Very few other polls use that. It doesn't take into account first time voters or people who may have switched their party affiliations. Gallup's "expanded" model is far more in line with the other polls and gives Obama a larger lead.

Post all 3 of Gallup's daily tracking poll's....don't cherry pick the one that shows the closest margin. Their registered voter poll, the one they've been using the whole race, has Obama up by 7 today, and their new "expanded likely voter" poll has Obama up by 7 as well.

I mean, they all hate socialism except the minimum wage and the bail out and the stimulus checks, right?

I love stimulus checks, I hope President McCain sends me one like President Bush did.

Well you're shit out of luck on that one bud.

McCain is finished unless can overcome a 9-13 point deficit in Penn.

I believe Kerry was 'up' several points (5-7) this time 4 years ago. Exit polls on the day of the election had him winning. Then throw in the "Bradley Effect" and this race could be a shocker.

The Kerry being up by 5-7 points is nothing but a Fable.

MP, thanks. Wasnt Kerry up in some polls in Oct 2004 or is my memory wrecked? :-)

He might have been up in some polls, but on average Bush was ahead.

To be fair I think our candidates this year are both better than Kerry and Bush.

Hmmn..

Intersting, since the Yahoo poll I looked at today didn't look good for McCain and Palin, especially in a state by state breakdown.

Of course they were doing well in places like Arkansas and Mississippi, but it looks unlikely they will gain the electoral votes needed..

Too bad,so sad..

It's nice to see you republicans stick to itness..But it's time you face facts..

America hates you,and wants you to go away.

Listen to America, cause we'll be screaming in your face in 6 more days.

I wonder if Democrats will surround the White House on election night and chant ''Get out of Obama's house?"'..

Nah,that would be tacky..

Yeah -- kinda like your post.

This kind of crap is the reason I've been distancing myself from some Democrats. You didn't write that kind of stuff before you decided to vote for Obama and Obama supporters became your buddies. I know; I've been reading your posts a long time and we've been friends. I'd have noticed if you wrote stuff like that. "America hates you and wants you to go away"? What kind of nonsense is that?

America does not hate Republicans any more than it was unAmerican to oppose the Iraq war.

About half of America supports Obama, not all of America, not even most of America. So where do you get off saying "America hates you"? Obama supporters don't own America and are not entitled to say who "America" loves or hates.

^ Everyone's entitled to the same level of campaign rhetoric that you are.

If you're objecting to over-generalizations, you might start by not lumping all Obama supporters together in your blanket attacks.

Walk as you talk. LOL.
