Gangnam Style-yea or nay

It's not high art and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a fun booty shaker, FAR more fun than the Macarena to do at weddings, I'll tell ya!;)

Of course I tweak the words a bit and say " oppa gangbang style"!--%--

Its just another novelty "song" that will be forgotten in 12 months. If there is a God.

The video did the trick.
without the video, this song wouldn't be this popular.

Agree with you. The big shots from his record comapny sure did loads of PR work! And it is a stupid song, I don't understand it, plus it's kind of like the Ketchup song: a fad.

People actually danced that stupid choreography in front of me randomly on the street! I rolled my eyes, gave them a look, pretend to smile, and walked away. Really felt like telling them that I'm not Korean.

So a big NAY!

Americans were entrenched in Korea during MJs era? Doesn't apply, Koreans (therefore the Korean language) don't have the ability/influence Americans (ergo, English) have on foreign culture.

I suppose it doesn't matter...no one will remember his name this time next year and in another year or so someone else will break his YouTube record. 'Tis the ever-evolving life of the Internet.
LMFAO, Justin Beiber, Rhianna, etc are also popular in those countries and they sing in English.

Welcome to the new global economy. Korean pop music is starting to invade America. Just because they don't speak English means nothing. As long as the beat is good. For a Canadian, I am surprised by your narrow minded views.

It is currently the number 1 most viewed video on youtube; and it's on its way to one billion views. I personally like it so I give it three thumbs up. I think the lead singer's very funny and I like the beat. What are your opinions on this video? What did you like about it?
You're a few months too late. The song's BEEN popular for a while now. It was to the Fall season what the "Call Me Maybe" song was to the Summer season: overplayed and overparodied.

What I think made "Gangnam Style" a popular song was the stupid dance that goes along with it. Take away the dance, and nobody would've given the song more than half a listen.

The people who don't like it are jealous ...
You can shout "get off my lawn"

It's definitely a guilty pleasure. It's really catchy and yeah.. I've listened to it. I don't mind.

I can't stand it. Thankfully these things usually have very short lives and people are on to the next flash in the pan. Unfortunately we have to put up with it until then.

Steven.

I think this is just a fluke and most likely won't lead to a trend.

So many Korean pop acts have tried to break into the American market but have little to no success.

^ This. Think before you post, please. It's just a trend because Westerners still find Asians cute in their stereotypes/xenophobia. English songs are popular worldwide because English has been the lingua franca for 150 years. Duh.
