Again, understood. You probably have not seen many asians before when you were younger, and you probably don't see many of them now; our specific racial features probably do not register sexually in your mind because of other racial features that you were probably more exposed to as you grew up (which I can bet were probably that of Caucasians).

And it is way terrible how our society treats different races sexually and whats the worst of it is it is not overtly racist its something on the sub conscience

But do you realize that you are doing just that to asian guys? If you think it's horrible how certain races are being sexually percieved differently from others (that, according to you), shouldn't you take the first step and put effort into altering your own perception?

Also, when has the idea of hating asians ever came up? We're talking about perceiving asians differently when it comes to sex.

Well, he was the one who originally expressed a disappointment towards the sexual perceptions of difference races. What I'm saying is, if he think's that it shouldn't be that way, he should first re-examine his sexual view of asian guys. Because he specifically said, 'asian guys just don't do it for me'.

Also, I would re-consider about using the term, 'prejudice'. In this situation, it seems a bit strong.

^Because the word has a definition, certain behaviors fall under that definition. Writing off an entire race as undesirable can reasonably fall under that jurisdiction. It may be an erroneous assessment, but it's not unfounded.

I'm a young White male, and I find Asian men extremely attractive, particularly the tall manly looking ones. I do not consider this to be an Asian fetish, considering I'm attracted to other types of men as well as a particular body type. My 'preference' (which seems to be controversial in these forums) are exotic men with dark hair/eyes and tan skin, which can be any from Mediterranean men to Asian men.

It's not always "creepy old men over 40" that can be attracted to Asians, but young normal college guys as well.

First off, its incorrect to label this a "fetish". A fetish is something thats "a sexual attraction to materials and objects not conventionally viewed as being sexual in nature."

^^^I originally had a small inkling against entertaining the idea, but on second thought, I think you might have a bigger point than what I first gave credit to.

Porn does seem to play a bigger role in shaping sex-culture and pop-culture than many of us would like to admitt, despite the fact that porn comes up constantly in gay conversations (undeniably). Specifically, it is a major factor in shaping stereotypes. As you said, in these porn videos (which I've never bothered to look at but am well aware of), these asian guys are disproportionately femme. If I may also add, not only are they mostly twinks, they're also all hairless! And now, these are the "official" stereotype of asian guys (however unconscious) in the western gay community. Whoever doesn't fit in the stereotypes is considered "an exception". (even though there are more asian guys who have many traits outside the stereotype. I guess in the webster dictionary, we should re-define the figure of exception to around 55%. lol)

And it doesn't end there. Now, with these new stereotypes, other porn industries go out to search for the very asians who fit the 'asian stereotype' and reject those who do not. With this representation of asian guys in these newer videos, the original stereotype is only re-enforced. See the endless cycle?

For many gays of whom I've encountered, they'd make fun of the fact that I'm asian and that I'm hairy. Some even show a sarcastic smile and a subtle face of disgust ('What?? A HAIRY asian??'). That goes to say, if the hairless asian twink is not bad enough, now we have something even worse for these guys: a hairy asian semi-stud!!!!

That's essentially what the OP and I have been getting at, that Asians are considered a fetish to many. They're not individuals, they represent something that's "abnormal," something that's not typically considered desirable or sexual. Of course the people who typecast Asians simply explain it as a "set of preferences" but unfortunately they never stop to wonder where those preferences come from.

Yes I know, I purposely contradicted myself hoping to shed some light to this dilemma. Gaysians aren't really perceived by others as sexual, therefore those who are sexually aroused by them are labeled as having a fetish for them by those who are NOT aroused by asians. And a fetish is pretty much a sexual taboo which doesn't help the situation at all.

They feel like it's an attack, and like you're asking for preferential treatment. These kinda discussions always seem to upset their sensibilities so they'll make a comment about how we're all equal and we should shut up our complaining.

Well, some people are like that. Not all. Some. I think it's important and fair to acknowledge the size figure.

Regarding preferential treatment, why that view? Don't these certain people realize that when you're in the group of the 'other', it would come as no surprise that there would be more discussions about that 'other'?

That's the conundrum, not only are minorities marginalized, they're not allowed to express displeasure about it either. Any discussion about issues that affect minorities it bound to get a few comments such as "I don't see what the big deal is" or "Quit being such a whiny bitch" "Why are you always blaming your problems on everyone else?" from a white person or two (or five).

But perhaps it's not their fault: they simply don't realize how big of a problem that 'marginalizing of minorities' actually is. In fact, they most-likely don't even think that they're marginalizing (otherwise, they wouldn't do it). In their minds, they're just doing an innocent thing and to them, all we're doing is whine-bitching. They haven't worn our socks before, so it's harder for them to imagine what the big deal is.
