The truth is, many to most Americans too would like to learn about the interesting cultures, for they find it interesting and even fascinating. However, when it comes to sex, however committed or casual, a gay asian guy, as current, cannot usually turn the heads of other gay guys, usually (but not exclusively) white guys.

Okay, there was an incident that happened to me about a week ago that's interesting and even kind of funny.

First, I think it's important to mention: when you go on m4m in the sfbay region on CL, if you type in "no asian" or "no asians" in the search box, you'd consistently find at least 6 ads in the search results. A couple of times, I found that there were even as many as 13 ads! You won't get merely the same number of responses when you type in "no blacks" or "no whites" in the search, which falls more in the occasional range of 1 to 3 ads. (If you don't believe me, experiment for yourself! http://sfbay.craigslist.com/m4m)

Regarding the "no asian" ads, most of them made a simple statement like, "NO ASIANS, THANX!!", "please no asians. sorry, just a preference", "all race open but no asians" (right......), "if ur asian, no response", "azns 2 'da back of da line!!" or something related to these. However, one particular "no asians" ad caught my eye. The poster made more than just a simple 'no asians, thanks' statement, "prefer white and latinos and plz NO azians. Sorry, never really been interested in them and probably wont ever. just not into the hairless twink type, ya know?" (note, he himself is a hairless semi-studded twink, according to the picture of his torso at the end of his ad)

Later, I posted my ad. In it, I included a statement of "primary and strong preference" for other asian twinks and studs and also two of my pics (my eyes and face are censored in the CL version)-

As expected, I got my regular dosage of responses: the majority was from the middle-age and old-age groups, the few college-agers were black and hispanic, only a few were more muscular than my definition, so on and so forth. Many flaked, some showed genuine interest.

And guess what? One of those few who showed interest and were slightly more muscular than me was him, the white hairless semi-studded twink !! In his e-mail were not only his torso pic but one of his face as well (I guess I learned what he looks like. LOL!). He said that he really likes my pics, called me cute, and stated his stats; in his stats, he included that he's a "good-looking white guy". Now what was he doing, responding to my ad, I thought to myself. It was then that I decided to try a little experiment. I responded back to him by saying, "no thanks, not interested. Sorry, white guys don't really do it for me." I was wondering if he was going to respond back saying anything. While I took a guess that he wasn't going to, he in fact did. In his response back to me, he called me a racist fag and that guys my built "are pussy boys and not even men!"

Just a quick recap of what he stated earlier in his ad-

And here is his response back to me when I told him that I'm not interested in white guys-

I think the best thing to do was, like I did, to simply let it go. If you try to teach slow learners a lecture, they only get even more angry, and in the end, barely anything is achieved. Besides, my semi-psychic intuition seemed to have told me that this guy realized his hipocrisy several minutes after he sent his "racist fag!" e-mail to me. It also picked up that he may have either felt embarassed or annoyed that he didn't realize it earlier. That said, I think he truly did learn his lesson, even though he didn't admitt it out loud.

(Don't ask me how I logically figured these things out, because logic was not involved. I just somehow knew).

But I wasn't even hurt from this incident. Nor from any of my other craigslist incidences. Uh, sometimes a little annoyed. But never hurt. At any rate, I get over it in no time.
