gay chavs

Re: gay cahvs

I don't profess to be the spelling or grammar police but if I see a post rife with spelling mistakes/textspeak/netspeak/chav slang (whatever the hell it is, it's not English), it just makes me cringe.

IT MAKES THE POSTER LOOK UNEDUCATED & ILLITERATE.

Can nobody understand this?

I mean, sure, if there's a few typos and I can get the gist of what I'm reading, that's fine, but if I have to make an effort to read the post, that's too much.

If you have to post a post of "Am I a chav" and use chav slang, the answer is obviously yes.

Re: gay cahvs

If you have nothing better to do than flame someone, I suggest you find better things to do with your time.

I didn't mention grammar. I mentioned spelling. But apparently, you're too into flaming someone to know exactly what you're talking about.

His grammar was fine. His SPELLING was wayyy off. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell the difference between spelling and grammar.

I feel really bad for you that I have to explain this:
Spelling is (you can't use the same word in a definition about itself): forming words with letters according to the principles underlying accepted usage
Grammar is sentence structure, semantics and the like.

Learn what the hell you're talking about first before you flame someone, you might form a logical argument that way.

Welcome, Grammar Police.

Flame flame flame!
It's Sunday night.. Can't say I've got much else to do.
Bless your cotton socks mate. It'll be okay in the morning.

No need to explain the difference to me though.
I came out of school with an A in English Language, and an A in English Literature. :-)
Thanks for the looks up, though. ..|

Safe and all that. Brrrap!

wikipedia says

The term “chav” refers to a subcultural stereotype of people fixated on fashions such as flashy “bling” jewellery (generally gold) along with designer clothing in the Burberry pattern (most famously a now-discontinued baseball cap) and from a variety of other casual and sportswear brands. They often wear tracksuits/shellsuits and 'hoodies'. The Baseball caps usually consist of an MLB Baseball team such as the New York Yankees. Musically, chavs tend to like rap, rave dance, and RnB. Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism. The term has also been associated with delinquency, the "ASBO Generation", and "Yob culture".

Agreed. Furthermore, I think that guys who in real life speak in almost unintelligible slang (and write like that too) probably alienate themselves from others - it's like building a wall around you.

Is the thread title supposed to say "gay chavs" or "gay cahvs" - I'll be glad to fix the thread title.

Re: gay cahvs
