I just a read blog post where the blog owner went off on a tirade against Cody Cummings and the fact that he claims to be straight while dabbling in some gay/bi activities for the camera. Lots of cursing and silly remarks followed and I eventually got bored.

It made me think however - with most of the gay porn industry's top guys being gay for pay (and remarkably straight) - does it really shock you to find this out? Does it bother you that the guy getting you off is actually thinking of his favorite lady?

It seems so silly, but it seems some gay guys thinks that acting gay means committing to it...

I say - hats off to them. It is a fantasy industry and if you play the role, we will come and watch.

Who ever tirade against someone for no good reason is a bad person.

ha

its amazing what viagra and straight porn will do to a "hetero" man.

I think that they are at least bisexual, but I also think its not up to me to sexually define another person. I think that's a personal choice.

I actually think the fantasy often, is that the guy is really straight, and that straight men are atttainable, when in fact, hetero men would usually prefer picking Burger kings garbage cans than have a cock rammed up his ass for cash. I think its a fifty fifty mix on the truth of the sexual preference of gay porn actors. I think there are just as many pretending to be straight, as there are straight really just doing it for the cash. IF you have an anal fetish, why not do gay porn? who knows. human sexuality is complex.

I somehow don't really believe that a porn site's merch department is a valid source for determining someone's self identified sexual identity.

Well said :slap:.

Personally, whether he's straight or not doesn't affect me in the slightest or my enjoyment.

The fact whether or not HE'S enjoying it (to the point where I can tell the difference} is what turns me off or on.

As I said in another thread, I would watch more gay porn if so much of it wasn't slick, professionally produced crap. Give me some lower budget/amateur stuff where the people are doing it for a good time, any day.

I couldn't care less if they're gay/bi/straight or anything else in real life.

However, I do understand that part of the fantasy is suspension of disbelief.

It's not like I'm gonna have a chance to date or meet them but part of the fantasy is that I could, theoretically, pay them to have sex with me.

Then the whole dominance thing is a real turn on.

There was some flap a month or so ago about some enraged schmuck purporting to be "Cody Cummings" going on a tirade about fags and how he's not a fag because he's never fucked a guy. Perhaps this is what your blogger was het up about.

But unless he was drunk-blogging, there was no reason to believe that it was actually Cody who wrote that, since he'd be shooting himself in the foot with such statements... I suspect he's as straight as the average Joe, but women don't as a rule give a shit about online porn... his audience is probably 99% guys, and perhaps less than 50% of that number is looking at the chick.

Oddly, Cody is one of the few straight stars I find interesting. The way he looks at the woman he's fucking is really something... like he really enjoys her.

Personally, I like a twinky little switch-hitter better. And I do like knowing that the boy is gay... I can ignore him being straight, but an honest-to-goddess faggot turns my crank more. Give me Brent Corrigan over Cody Cummings any day.

particularly cummings seems to inspire hate in some people. i think there is an entire thread more or less about that lying around here somewhere.

i never quite get 'complaining about porn performers'. its not politics or high art, its just motherfucking porn. watch whatever gets you off and leave the rest be. if cummings doesnt do it for you for whatever reason, just dont watch his stuff. simple as that.

He probably got upset because Cody Cummingz is straight, but he is extremely homophobic & disrespectful to his gay audience. Oh, and he has own exclusive website from a porn company whose customers are about 95% gay men.

Cody Cummingz is NOT "gay 4 pay". He doesn't do anything "gay" other than let a guy suck his cock, and even then if the guy gets too close, Cody Cummingz pulls away & acts disgusted.

On his official blog, he typically answers questions by "female" bloggers only, but not by "male" bloggers. On his weekly "live shows," he flirts & answers questions from users with female names, but ignores the men.

Cody Cummingz has also made derogatory comments about straight guys who actually f*ck other guys on camera for money (you know, the guys who actually are "gay 4 pay"), saying gay sex is disgusting, and that they're "sell outs" -- but Next Door Studios took down his comments after people on the gay blogosphere took notice.

When confronted by the limited scope of the "gay" things he does in camera, Cody Cummingz says that "people need to respect his limits" but he forgets that he is essentially a straight porn star who works for a gay porn company, and he is being paid many times more than what he would earn working in the straight porn industry.

Sure Cody Cummingz has the "looks"..........but if you want an example of a douchy, self-obsessed, homophobic guy...........look no further.

(I know I misspelled Cody's last name -- I don't want to link to his site)

I don't understand why people say that it's so obvious that gay-for-pay actors are in reality gay. It's a job, like any other job. In the end, you end up getting off, and you get paid up to 10 times better for doing gay stuff. If I were doing porn and doin it with a woman paid 10 times better, I'd sure as hell switch over.

People that are doing porn in the first place probably aren't too hung up with their sexual habits. To them, it's just a job (albeit, probably enjoyable at some times and not so much at others).

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; I don’t consider porn actors to be exhibiting their true sexual orientations while working in front of the camera.

The biggest misconception, in my opinion, resides in the fact that people confuse their acting – portrayal of sex – as actual sex.

Sorry to cast aside the curtain, but I doubt many enjoy staying hard for hours, posing in awkward positions, going through all the cleaning rituals, and perhaps being teamed up with a fellow performer they are not attracted to, in front of a group of support staff while being filmed.

In my opinion, it isn’t real sex; it is two people putting their bodies into various positions and going through various motions to simulate what sex is for a target audience to consume as fodder for personal fantasies.

To me, that is what professional porn is.

Now, if you view it in that context, than you must ask yourself; if these individuals are being paid for this work, than will the true professionals among them really balk at preforming with a member of the same gender? Especially if they are paid several times more for their role?

Their only true sexuality is revealed when the go home and actually seek out a relationship. The people to whom they have the ability to be physically/romantically attracted reveals their authentic orientation.

The rest is just make-believe.

In short: (professional) porn isn’t real, people. ;)

Couldn't agree more. Money will make people do things they would NEVER even consider doing under normal conditions.

People seem to pass judgement way too easily and try to talk about stuff they have no clue about.

Most gay4pay guys are really bisexual. You don't need to feel emotionally attached to a man to be bisexual. If a straight man tries sex once with a man and decides it's not for him, fine. If they're doing it repeatedly, then it's suspicious.

You can say it's for money but there are plenty of ways to make money without having sex with men. They're at least a little bisexual.

Who ever tirade against someone for no good reason is a bad person.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. If you have sex with men you are at the very least bisexual. There is no way that any man will get it up for another man unless he has at least some interest in him sexually. Any man who profits from gay sex and then claims it's all an act is fair game. Sexual politics must be played constantly if we are going to achieve an even playing field for straight and queer people, and nobody, no matter how cute, can be exempt from the play. I empathise with any gay man who has had a gut full of this bullshit that male porn models dish out regarding their so called straightness. It's like they believe their own spin.

And I agree with Sultan that once is credible - but I would think it amazing, sorry - ASTOUNDING - that any man who's really never had sex with another guy before would go on camera to have his image thrown right around the world of him having sex with a guy for the first time, with those pics and video never being retrievable. What curious guy would do that?

Theatre, and cinema actors make love to one another, kill and maim one another on stage, or on screen with sufficient professional skill to make us believe that the action is real.

In reality the actors are not murderers, nor for the most part, are they in actually in love one another.

Why should porn actors, who are also working for a living, be judged differently?
