I just saw the last 15 minutes or so of Oprah and her guest was Mrs. McGreevy.
They showed a clip of Mr. McGreevy and his new boyfriend and in it they kissed each on the on the lips. The kiss was just a peck and lasted less than a second. The audiance let out a horrified gasp. WTF, her audiance is comprised mostly of women and presumably liberal so I couldn't believe they gasped. It is 2007, isn't it?
I think Oprah should have given her a real opportunity to address the rumors she's anti-gay. I was waiting for "I hate my jerk ex-husband, but it's important not to misinterpret that as hostility towards the gay community." But from her point of view, she probably does hate us all. I can't imagine what she went through, but again, I found her annoying and didn't have as much sympathy for her as I probably should have.
I'm just tired of Oprah's being so self-congratulatory. "I did this for the poor, and I did this for African children, and I did this for abused wives. . ." Self promotion to the max.
Her hairdress is gay.
Nate Berkus, her interior designer and frequent guest is big time gay and open about it.
Where's the homophobic Oprah?
Maybe it was a "WTF? They didn't use tongues! We wanted to see a proper kiss! We've been cheated" gasp - ok, maybe not.Maybe it was like a romantic "oooh, that's so sweet" gasp. Or was it really a shocked and horrified "I hate fags" gasp?
