So I advice those who are indeed arguing the immigration debate to be careful indentifying the immigration debate as solely being tied to latinos. (stats show that immigration also comes from Asia (philippines and China in particular, let us not forget the irish illegals and canadian illegals all over the country). Do not tie illegal immigration to race its a problem in general. For example, an illegal immigrant drunk driving and hitting an innocent man on the street is not an immigration issue rather it should be a drunk driving issue.


The key problem in illegal immigration is that it is somewhat a crutch for our country. LEt me explain, in the agircultural sector illegal immigration is the bulwark of the industry. Becuase of this the USA has one of the lowest food costs compared to other industrialized country. We can feed our own people which is foundational for stability. When famines have become more common in the modern world as in the case of the rice shortage *recently) it was evident that the US could whether that storm simply because it can cheaply produce its own food which is really due in large part to illegal immigration.

Secondly illegal immigrants then provide a subsidy to the american people 1) by keeping food prices low and secondly cheap labor that stimulate business from construction to the garment industry and even day care so that the other parent could go to work.

Lets be real in terms of certain businesses like hotels, agriculture and other services, illegal immigration provides a subsidy that keeps certain product cost low. Immigration through cheap labor provides a subsidy to the spending capacity of americans but becomes a burden when the government has to provide services to them.

We need illegal immigration subsidy but only to a point. So in a sense yes we have them but we only need so much. The question should be how many does the country need and how do we control that?

Let me explain something to you about diversity. Some kinds of diversity are fine such as being gay, being a US citizen that happens to be white, being a US citizen that happens to be black and on and on. But people such as yourself take it to the EXTREME.

I can tell you, however, that the US did not select the Irish, Italians, Poles, Jews, etc. who migrated to this country in the 1800's and early 1900's whether your idyllic fantasies tell you otherwise or not. Most immigrants were poorly if at all educated with little skills and less prospects. They were hated and disrespected by the native populace just as the Mexicans and Central Americans are today. They worked hard at occupations that no one else wanted. They are now the same "backbone" of American society that wants to keep out everyone else.

There were no controls placed on the Poles, Germans, Jews, etc, who came to this country (because they were white), and they have managed to assimilate perfectly well enough to try and keep everyone else (who is presumably NOT white) out, so I fail to see the problem.

Wow who is the racist? Listen I do not have a issue with those that come in LEGALLY GET THAT? They did what they needed to do. Mexicans are just as hardworking as anyone else, and no more adept at crime than anyone else. Thats really disrespectful. Men and women have died for this country. That flag is a symbol of it. I understand the USA is no big deal to you and another member on here. Why not try living in another? I am willing to bet you have not done military service for this country? Because if you did you would appreciate it. So these people are here for the money? America first is a way of thinking that most people have in this country because its OUR COUNTRY.

My friend, for the sake of size I deleted most of your quote but exaggerating my points isn't going to diminish the validity of my argument. As far as xenophobia, I was mostly referring to anti-immigration in general, but since this thread is only two pages, a simple review of your posts would atleast suggest undertones of bias. Unless I'm misreading your posts, it seems you're applying the worst cases to the general race, as someone else suggested.

As said again this is not about anti-immigrant. This is about anti-illegal immigrant what is so hard to get about that?
