And this fear of gay adoption is based on...?
I used to believe that gays would not make fit parents. I mean how could they, it was so unnatural. My belief was based on ignorance, until...
I have an older cousin who is a lesbian. She and her partner have been together for 36 years. (An incredible family scandal many years ago, but it helped make the way a little easier for me) About 20+ years ago, her brother died of a heart failure and his wife, because of her depression over the husbands death and other health issues, committed suicide. The grandparents were too old to take in the 3 year son, and there were no other siblings, so all concerned (along with the knowledge and consent of Social Services) decided to allow the child to be raised by my lesbian cousin and her partner.
Except for a couple of incidents as a teenager (and who didn't have "incidents" as teenagers), their life as a typical suburban family was remarkable for its lack of drama. They did everything as a family, even attending family reunions, which is where I was able to see this young man grow up before my eyes.
This child is now grown and recently graduated from college, and I can say from first hand knowledge that this young man is intelligent, articulate, talented, and extremely well adjusted (and from all signs, heterosexual). Anyone who has watched this young man grow up is completely convinced that gay parents can (and do) raise children as well or better than straight parents.
Anyone who disagrees is just speaking from pure ignorance. Wake up, and see the evidence all around you. What used to be rare, is becoming more and more common. As Martha Stewart would say "It's a good thing".

...And if gays do get marriage then the next thign will be gay adoption and that is REALLY one fo the worst things to do. So yeah slowing down or stopping gay marriage wil only be a good thing.
