Gay Marriage Updates By State

Hawaii House Voted To Approve Civil Unions

‎"The House voted on a version of Senate Bill 232, which was amended by the House Judiciary Committee to include clarifying changes recommended by the attorney general. The bill now goes back to the Senate, which is expected to accept the House amendments and send the bill directly to the governor as early as next week."

Gay Marriage Reaches Majority Support In California

The survey released last week by Public Policy Polling found 51 percent of voters in the Golden State believe gay marriage should be legal, while 40 percent believe it should be illegal. That's an increase of 5 percentage points since September's results.

The largest increase in support came from Republicans and independents. Republican voters increased from 15 percent in support to 29, nearly doubling in 4 months. Sixty-six percent of self-identified Democrats say gay marriage should be legal.

^^^

The vote is known anyway, barring any surprises, that it will be 6-5 for passage.

Debate will then be scheduled, followed by a cloture vote, and then final statements followed by a final roll call.

This is all expected by EQMD to be wrapped up in the Senate by March 1.

Let me guess, the 5 have R next to their names?

The vote actually turned out to be 7-4 in favor of the bill, one vote higher then expected!!!

Three out of the four. The conservative Democrat was Norman Stone whom we all knew would be against it if he had to sacrifice a nut.

Take it stone is another DINO?

This isn't delay, it's movement -- we've been waiting to find out if they were even going to hear it. If they decided not to hear it, then we'd be waiting while the Ninth muddled around trying to decide what to do.

This is good news.

Actually if they had decided not to hear it, then the decision in the 9th would have come quicker, so it is a delay.

I know our side is asking the California Supreme Court to expedite it even further. Hope they succeed.
