Gay Marriage Updates By State

Beauty.

Now if Scalia would just die, Obama would appoint a libertarian to replace him, SCOTUS would be set to put an end to this nonsense by overturning DOMA in its entirety, directing Homeland Security to put NOM, the AFA, and the FRC on the list of domestic terrorist organizations.......

They've really underestimated the whole thing, it seems. They were guaranteeing passage after the mid-term when the votes in the Senate were up in the air.

They should maybe put it off for a bit to get more support, and in the meantime vote on the GENDA bill (which will easily pass). It would also give gay marriage opponents less time to collect signatures for a referendum.

Middle Ground in Gay Marriage Poll

The Iowa Poll commissioned by the Des Moines Register shows 30 percent of those surveyed didn't have an opinion on gay marriage, 37 percent were opposed to it and 32 percent were in favor of it.

About 17 percent of Iowans polled said they weren't sure what to make of a November vote that ousted three state Supreme Court justices for their role in a unanimous 2009 decision that legalized gay marriage, and 25 percent said they wouldn't vote on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

The poll was based on 800 interviews with adult Iowans contacted Feb. 13-16 by landline or cell phone. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.

That Wyoming vote (or, I mean, failure to vote) is rather surprising. I think 100% of us in here know that the same vote would have slammed through both chambers like a runaway locomotive five years ago.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris & LA Times Speak Up For Immediate Marriage Equality In California

http://instinctmagazine.com/blog/l-a-times-speaks-up-for-immediate-marriage-equality

You should quote some of the substance from the articles you give us links to. Like from the above:

California Attorney General Kamala Harris has asked the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to lift its stay and allow same-sex couples to resume getting married.

"For 846 days, Proposition 8 has denied equality under the law to gay and lesbian couples," Harris said in a statement to the court. "Each and every one of those days, same-sex couples have been denied their right to convene loved ones and friends to celebrate marriages sanctioned and protected by California law. Each one of those days, loved ones have been lost, moments have been missed, and justice has been denied."

That's not just speaking up, it looks like intervening with the Ninth! :=D:

Rhode Island Senate will hold it's hearing on the gay marriage bill Tuesday, March 10, and the House Committee may very well vote on it the same day.
