Cute campaign.

that was pretty cool. too bad the mcdonalds i saw in paris looked nothing like that...

Aww, a painful and awkward commercial that hits a nerve with people.

This makes me want to eat their food somehow.

They opened a location in the Louvre. You can munch a Big Mac while gawking at the Mona Lisa now.

There is no god.

Thanks for posting it, it is pretty sweet. I have about ninety-billion other thoughts being served about it, but it being sweet is one of them :-)

Am I the only one underwhelmed with it as an ad?

I mean, it doesn't really do much with the idea of having a gay character in it. I mean, does he come out to his dad during their lunch? And why not show that then?

I mean, it's nice to see gay characters in commercials for big businesses, but there was practically no need for it here, given that it didn't really serve the commercial at all.

I don't know, perhaps it's just not an effective ad in my view, or maybe I'm just a jaded cynic, but I didn't like it.

[STRIKE]Unfortunately,[/STRIKE] McDonalds here is usually full of straight lowerclass immigrants who hate gays, so I doubt this ad will make me like this fast food chain much more.

I like the 'come as you are' theme.

i stopped going to mcdonalds because their food evaporates if water or light touches it. everyone knows they cook their fries in gasoline. not to mention its gotten progressively more expensive. i love how their automated drink machines only fill 3/4 of the cup.

but this commercial had more realism than many gay themed films in america.

I love my MickeyD's...

Isn't France one of the places that McDonald's being firebombed a few years ago?

This is the reality for many if not most gay guys. It's not that easy coming out to a father who is a macho ladies man. I see noting wrong with that aspect of the commercial. Just the fact that this is the situation but the kid still has a boyfriend so young says a lot.

The ad seems ok to me. Not sure what else gay people would expect from a 30 second ad from a fast food chain. Maybe have the kid show his dad his gay porn stash on his phone? Or tell his dad all the dirty details about how he gives his bf a blowjob?

This ad certainly is much more than McD would ever do in my country, at least through any mainstream media.
