Gay Men, Comic Books, and Geeking Out

Nice phone cover Gomaki! Love that it has Storm and Colossus on the back. And HnH, starting with Ian sounds good. Will visit your site soon. I would now but I'm running on 2 and a half hours of sleep and am about to crash.

cool phone cover... not quite the commitment of the amazing x-men sleeve tattoo was saw earlier... but cool nonetheless. Never looked that much into those - couldn't imagine any decal having sleek feel of the naked iphone.

Speaking of Comics, I'm mainly looking forward to this 'Age of X' plot coming up later this month. Looks like it will be awesome! Scarlet Witch dies before she can warp reality and decimate more than 70% of the Mutant populace and Xavier never formed the X-Men!!! *passes out from talking so fast*

What's the current arc called that features Hope? I'm only curious because i want to look into it.

Sinestro, I'm guessing it would be Generation Hope, which continues from The Five Lights. She's also been seen in X-Men: Legacy recently.

And welcome aboard, HunterWolf!

Ok ... just to show you ...as I promised... here are the pictures of the completed X-Men sleeve...

It is the original 5 with Xavier and Magneto. It took 36 hours in total.

Now those are totally super special awesome! :D

The comic books that I read are mostly X-Men related like Gambit, X-Men, and the Age of Apocalypse series. I also read some manga like Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, and The Legend of Zelda.

Thank you for the info Starkiller. I guess I should've realized her name would've been in the arc title since she is important.

I also follow comics but now I just buy trades. I am a DC geek. I own all the animated series and DC movies. I also watch V and Smallville. My ex liked comics also. He wasn't a DC guy though. I usually meet Marvel men. I wish I met more comic guys. I would love to date one. But most people don't know I know all that I know when it comes to comics and cartoons. I also think Young Justice has started off well. I read Wonder Girl wasn't available when they started the series but she is now. Love to see her. But would they bring in Donna or Cassie? I was a HUGE Teen Titans fan growing up. I wish they would do a Titans cartoon with the best line up of Nightwing, Wonder Girl, Jericho, Beast boy, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Kid Flash.

I'm with you Blue, we need more show adaptations of comics. I certainly would watch them all the time if I could. Especially a Green Lantern one. But I like both Marvel and DC comics, though some groups more than others obviously.

Ok so...dumb question, don't hurt me though: What are trades? When it comes to comics I mean >.<

Also, speaking of comic adaptions, they've got a few on the way, along with a new All-Star Superman animated movie that'll be released next around this time? ... Don't quote me on that last. But I do know I've read that they'll be bringing X-Men back, so those "Wolverine and the X-Men" re-runs will end some time soon. And they're also working on a new Spider-Man series that'll be based off Ultimate version. I personally liked "The Spectacular Spider-Man" before it was cancelled Disney bought out Marvel Entertainment...or is it all of Marvel?

I forget, whatever.

Bringing X-men back in what fashion? Like the supposed second season of wolverine and the x-men or a whole new series? I'm intrigued now if you couldn't tell.

'Trades' are trade paperbacks, starkiller. Multiple issues collected in a single edition.

I was really hoping to see a Green Lantern appearance on Smallville before the show's end. Thought I was going to get it with Alan Scott in the episode with the JSA. Sadly, there was only a quick snipet and a close up of his ring. And with a GL movie coming out... we'll probably never have a Smallville GL moment. This is sad!

I'm assuming it's going to be something different entirely since Disney doesn't own "Wolverine and the X-Men."

Ah! Okay I see, thanks

I was looking forward to a GL joining the ranks in Smallville, too, but I guess his power would have looked cheesy with the shows lack of stunning special effects. But they've done good with Clark's heat-vision, don't see why they couldn't just make green if that were case.

GL might not be coming to Smallville but Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are. Booster should be fun. I was hoping to see some form of Hawk Woman b4 the show ended. I really wish they would do a Hawkman series when Smallville ends. Can't believe they aren't even considering it! It would be perfect. You could even go through their past lives like they do in Highlander or Vampire shows and show the past and the present. Just a wealth of storyline with Hawkman and Hawk Woman.

There is the rumor floating around that there will be a Wonder Woman television series... Apparently the networks are not interested but the producers are going through with a pilot anyway.

You never know, another series might give us another chance to see GL, Hawk Man and Haek Woman on tv!

Looks like Wonder Woman is dead for now. They are having all kinds of issues with her. So, I just TRIED to read the Trinity trades. Wow, those were really really bad. I was shocked. DC did great with 52 and Countdown was good in my opinion. But Trinity was awful. DC needs to stop these big events. Does Marvel still do the big events? DC I am up on but Marvel not so much. I know Marvel just did the whole Skrull thing.
