Gays set to legally marry in the UK

So he says but i'll believe it when things get done, instead of just words.

There's little Cameron can realistically do. As Winternight says, the case for gay marriage is 99% achieved and the remaining 1% involves tackling the churches which is a battle no politician will emerge with much kudos from.

And it's worth remembering that if there's to be 100% equality for everyone, it's not just the good old C of E which needs sorting out, but the Roman Catholics, the Jews, the Muslims and all the other intransigent adherents of one version of medieval mumbo jumbo or another.

I'm not just refering to marriage in terms of conservatives. Labour have done more for the LGBT, although i'm not sticking up for them in other areas.

If we had had 12 years of tories instead of labour then i don't believe we would be where we are now.
So i'm just waiting for actual results of any kind before i have more faith.

What in your view could the present UK government do to improve LGBT equality?

If this happens I'm going to work on getting British citizenship faster! (my dad has it) The UK is close enough to Europe, is a part of the EU, and you guys speak English! Also the vast majority of guys who seem to be into me are from there so why not move there!

Wheras I'm doing the opposite and fleeing to Toronto...

Seriously, i think it begins in education. If we were to impliment the same things such as the lessons kids have on drugs, not jumping into cars with strangers, tolerance for the other gender etc. The playground at my school was a breeding ground for open prejudice but nobody would have called a black kid a 'nigger'.

Meaning things can be achieved if the public education was willing to stand up and teach the kids its also wrong to be homophobic. Not to mention the effects it has on all the gay kids in the school which isn't fair.

But not in that really annoying way where they get a bunch of drama students in assembly to dance up and down, sit on their chairs backwards and say "hey kids , do you know its wrong to smoke?" etc.

Eventually this will have a knock on effect through the generations for the future. So in the future there will be less opposition.

Also David Cameron said he wanted to achieve 4 things for the LGBT when he became prime minister. Hazzard a guess that he hasnt achieved any yet??
