I am a firm beleiver that it is a gene that is past down from previous generations.

as I look in my family I have a first cousin that I thought was but died before I came out to everyone but he has two of four kids that are gay.

I have a nephew that is gay

I have a 2nd cousin that I met in a hook up room that was gay

i have another 2nd cousin that I always knew from his actions he had to be
met him in a gay bar as I was coming out. it was a funny meet

I think it is safe to say that we all know it is not a choice. something made us this way

my dad was one of eight kids . the best I can tell none of his brothers orsisters were but then the next generation there are lots. both my kids were adopted so that breaks the line of passing the gene

how about other guys do you have many gays in your family?

going back to my grandmother there are several within that family

One gay (female) cousin.

That is all I know, but I don't know much of my family very well.

Not many other people on my mother's side to check, but my father was one of nine children, and all but one married and had children, so I have at least thirty cousins. To the best of my knowledge, I'm the only homosexual in my family. However, there seems to evidence of what you might call "latency" here and there. My sister say she's "mildly bisexual" (she fooled around with another woman in college), and my brother is occasionally mistaken as being gay.

Lex

I have a lesbian aunt, but no other gays in the family

Then why bother even commenting, Matter of Splatter. There's no need to be rude!

As for me...I have one straight sibling and one gay sibling. And everyone thinks my father is gay though he has been happily married for decades (what Lex is talking about as latency).

I have a gay brother.

My uncle was gay he died of AIDs though when I was in 3rd grade. He wasn't out but our family knew.

My youngest brother is gay and absolutely evil and I also have a wicked lesbian sister that makes 3 out of 13 children, yes all by the same mom and dad. I have no contact with them for 14 years because they are very evil people. My uncle on my mother side has 5 children and 3 of them are gay, one guy my age and two lesbian daughters.

you are right.

I still keep my theory before i join JUB.
Gay people produce gayer children.

What do you mean by evil and how big was the age difference?

My family's pretty small so here it is in a nut shell. My moms sister has a gay son. My mom had three kids, my older sister, my older brother, and me. Does seem to happen on my moms side more often. We'll see in a few years when my sisters two kids grow up and a decade or so from now when my brothers son grows up.

As for extended family, dunno. I never see them. :(

Good post Jamie 01930.

My mother was an only child. My father had 4 brothers all married and all of their kids are also except for one in College. I have two brothers who are married with young children. As far as I can tell I am the only one.

I do have a Gay friend that has 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Four of the brothers are Gay and one of the sisters.

My partner is the only on in his family of 2 boys and 2 girls.

There is compelling research on environmental effects and a study involving reactions to pheromones. I would guess there are multiple causes for a person being Gay.

As far as I know, I'm the only one in the family. My dad is questionable and my brother's kind of feminine, but definitely straight. One of my cousins (I have over 20) might be gay, but might not be.

hmmmm....i have this older cousin - and although i'm out of touch with most of my cousins - little matter of 6,000 miles - i know that doesn't matter these days - but - anyway - when i do ask about him- it's like dead silence -and all my sister says is - He's not in tou ch with any of the family.. sooooo... idk -- but i \'m pretty good about jumping to conclusions. but everybody else is married with children - (except me ) married -without children - but of course i'm not gay - - "till later". That's my story and i'm sticking to it.

I have 2 gay cousins (brothers) and a lesbian aunt, all on my father's side.

I'm the only one. But then I don't have a lot of blood relatives... one sister, three first cousins, an aunt and an uncle, and three half-siblings, all straight. My mother was adopted, so her whole family is a complete blank, it could be wall-to-wall queers and nobody would know. And on my father's side, I have a hundred or so distant cousins, but I don't know them very well... if there's any queers there, they aren't coming to the family reunions and saying hi.

It feels very lonely, sometimes.
