GCB!!! (Good Christian Belles) on ABC

Do you guys think that Cricket knows that her husband Blake is really gay?

I think she knows!

In the episode, Cricket is at her Western clothing design office, she asks for design advice from her husband Blake. Blake suggests corduroy ("Corduroy never goes out of style," he says), and then he says that a blue cowgirl hat matches her outfit better (gaydar alert?)

But then she invites him to a romantic evening together, the both of them.

Blake declines, saying that he has a meeting with his ranch assistant, Booth......

Cricket sighs, then says, all in a huff, "Fine! Book me an appointment with Jorge!" (the personal trainer)

I think she knows her husband is gay.

What I'm curious to know, is why she still stays married to him.......

The way he said he had to go to the ranch made it sound like they did have this "Arrangement".

He looked at her as if she was suppose know what the deal is.

I will be interested to see how this develops :-({|=

I'm just wondering if JayQueer knows that "boi" is a term lesbians use to describe a young butch dyke.

80% of my family was born and raised in Texas, so it pisses me off to see Texans portrayed as stupid rich white Christian Republicans. Not everybody in Texas is a member of the Bush family, for fuck's sake..

This show isn't attempting to satirize all Texans, or even all Dallasites for that matter.

The name of the fictional town is called "Hillside Park". That's no coincidence.

It's satirizing people from Highland Park, Texas, a very wealthy enclave of Dallas. Think Beverly Hills, California, but take out the liberal Democrat Hollywood celebrities & entertainment executives and replace them with conservative Christian Republican oil barons & Dallas' social elite.

Yeah, I know.

I'm all worried. Last time I was all up in it about a TV show like this was Moonlighting but that's because I wanted to shag Bruce Willis.

it was okay. I just find it hard to believe that Kristin Chenowith and the main character were in high school at the same time. Somebody must have been held back alot. Sorority sisters would have been a tad more believable-at their time and station in life who even remembers high school?

It kind of felt dated, too. I'm sure it would have been more "new" 20 yrs ago.

This thread makes me cringe in many ways. I never knew it takes only several-minuted-trailer and some posters to make one completely obsessed and jittering for more...and now acting like a hyperglycaemic ADHD kid on drugs after only one episode.

It's not really that special, although the men are gorgeous. It's not really that funny or smart. Watching the show is like watching high school kids in MILF mode. The main reason I watch this is because of the sarcasm directed toward Christian extremists; that just because you're religious doesn't mean you're better, morally or mentally, from others.

Also, because of Kristin Chenoweth. She's awesome.

And I like it better when the title hasn't been changed yet. It delivers the message sharply and bluntly.

Just imagine: GOOD CHRISTIAN BITCHES (yes, I'm not censoring it).

OMG!!!

I think I found new guilty TV pleasure, especially since the series "Desperate Housewives" is now ending.

This Sunday is the series premiere of GCB (Good Christian Belles), loosely based on the book, "Good Christian B*tches." It will air on ABC in the United States.

The synopsis, from Wikipedia --

Isn't this exciting? A new TV drama set in Dallas, with hunky White cowboys?? One of the characters appears to be a closeted gay man (played by Mark Deklin)....

Kristin Chenoweth will star, along with Leslie Bibb. Does anyone else remember Leslie Bibb 10 years ago from "Popular" on The WB?

This new show will be soooo entertaining!! I love their Texan accents and over-the-top Dallas "Dallatude"..........lol

I wish I could visit Dallas right now, and find me a hot Texan hunky guy to marry!! :D

(TexPatriot, are you there hunny?) :p

Watch the trailer below --

Was soooooo happy to see that Mark was a part of the cast. Been crushing on that guy for years...love when his roles call for a southern accent.

Never thought he was unnattractive, but I'd never looked twice at the guy from J.A.G.(can't recall his name)...he's definitely caught my eye now though.

As for the "Belles"...I'm LOVING "Carlene", and I have to say that Annie Potts looks GREAT!!!

Defintely digging the show so far, and it could be the perfect replacement for my Sunday night dilf fix, with the 'Housewives finally throwing in the towel. They should TOTALLY scoop up James Denton!!!

You are obsessed, and you will deal (!)

Last episode was great

Anyone notice the most loving married couple on the entire show is the one with a straight woman and gay man?

I see what they did there.

Was hoping to see pics of Mark Deklin in boxer shorts from the end of last week's epi.
Anyone?

I've got you covered (or uncovered?)..........

Here's a pic of Blake Reilly (Mark Deklin)....

And here's a pic of Blake's now-former boyfriend, Booth....

I found a good article on "After Elton" -- it's an interview with Mark Deklin. He talks about his character on GCB, Blake Reilly.

The character of Blake Reilly is unique on TV because it's about a closeted gay man who is comfortable with being married to a woman, and yet he pursues relationship with men outside the marriage. It's essentially an "open marriage" because the wife, Cricket, knows that her husband is gay and agrees to this arrangement.

It's a good read -- even though Mark Deklin is straight, he is very appreciative of his gay male fans!

http://www.afterelton.com/tv/2012/03/interview-mark-deklin-gcb?page=0,1

After Elton: And knowing you have a gay audience, you know they’ll be paying attention closely to what is going on with your body!

Mark Deklin: Believe me, I am well aware of all that! All the time I’m thinking potentially when it comes to physicality I am facing the harshest critics out there, so I am well aware of this and I am doing my best to make my gay boys proud!

A few more photos of Mark (he's such a hottie!) :D

I tried to put myself through another episode (doesn't help they had a banner of it on hulu plus.. I tried watching 2nd episode))... but ughhh... I just went back to watching a Spanish telenovela (El Talisman)... those are so much better and the guys are hotter.

GCB is almost unbearable. I just don't get the appeal of this show at all I'm sorry.

What gay audience does this show get? *facepalm*

Judging from the man worshipping, you're supposed to have an image right now.

imdb says that 10 epis were made so that will run out the season and hopefully get picked up for fall - its getting better numbers than PanAm or the end of Bro & Sis scored.

OMG.......I just watched the latest episode (the 3rd one) online!!

GCB is totally my favorite scripted TV show! :) (Real Housewives of Atlanta is my favorite reality show)

The 3rd episode featured more character development of Blake Reilly (Mark Deklin) and Crickett Caruth-Reilly (Mariam Shor). We learn that Crickett also has her "men on the side" -- and we meet her HOTT Taekwondo instructor (whom she also has sex with, on the side)....

Is it inappropriate if I have a crush on the pastor, played by Taylor Jacob Moore?? He's soo cute!!

Did I mention that the the Taekwondo instructor, played by James Ryen is super HOTT?

lol

Oh, and Mark Deklin & David James Elliott were shirtless, several times in the episode :D
