Okay they completely had a guardian casting agent angel on their side when they lucked out and found Tamara Braun to replace 3x Emmy winner Sarah Brown in 2001.

But Vanessa ("The Most Beautiful Girl In The World") Marcil ?!? Hell no ... and the show knows it's a huge mistake in the making.

They have hired numerous ethnic look alike Marcil actresses over the years to test the waters and see how a re-cast would work out.

Remember Hannah (Lisa Vultaggio) from 2000? She was drop dead hot but she lacked something (she WASN'T Marcil!!!!).

And even in 2004 Carly told Sam that the only reason Sonny was spending time with her was because she reminded him of the love of his life, Brenda.

Leave well enough alone, GH. There is only one Brenda Barrett. :wave:

remember when they Eva Longoria on as the Brenda double that Jax kept seeing?
those too have fairly similar looks. just ask Tyler...he was engaged/married to both of 'em.
 
...Oddly enough I feel Kelly Monaco would have been a good Brenda recast. I love KM as an actress Im not really feeling the direction Sam is going in but I do like KM.
 
Yeah, I remember Longoria's blink-and-you miss her appearance on "GH." She was on "The Young & The Restless" much longer and quite capable as a psycho babe.

As for bitchy Sam?! Oh hell yeah, bring her on. Kelly Monaco is no longer a snooze fest.

Yeah, BenBen, sadly her "Vegas" got renewed for a fifth(?) season and also (sadly), I'm not sure if it's my screen only, but your spoilers are coming in WHITE, thus unreadable. More like teasers :)

WOW ... a Hospital show called General Hospital is actually going to focus on the hospital?! Whoever came up with that idea, needs a raise! ](*,)
 
Actually, 44-year-old "General Hospital" has been focusing on the hospital a lot more lately over the past year.

Sadly that's not due to their own respect for the institution the show has become. ABC daytime saw what a huge hit ABC primetime had in "Grey's Anatomy" (YAWN) and tried to replicate that with what they already had.

Of course, still mixing in some "Sopranos" every 20 minutes.

it was nice to see Jay Pickett's fine-ass back on daytime tv. i used to sweat Frank Scanlon so hard...well until Port Charles started all that silly ass supernatural stuff. speaking of PC i would LOVE to see Lucy Coe return to GH but after her character's experiences with the vamps and all that, it would probably be kinda hard to take her seriously.
 
Pickett is looking hot isn't he? And the dude's gotta be pushing 40 if not.

As for the downright wonderful Lynn Herring <sigh!>

When "Port Charles" got cancelled four years ago, I remember ABC daytime presdient Brian Frons making it a clear point that he didn't want Herring nor Jon Lindstrom coming back to "General Hospital."

He was only interested in Kelly Monaco.

He obviously never saw the Emmy-deserving work she did in 1993 when Dominique died and she agreed to become the gestation host for Dom and Scotty's baby.

I am not a crier but that woman brought tears to my eyes in those scenes! Damn good actress Herring is!

The only episode I watched of PC was the first one. Did Kelly Monaco's character get involved with the vampires story lines?
 
I'm pretty sure that Kelly's character was biten by Michael Easton's vampire character and she too became a vampire.

I think the show ended with that entire cast being vampires (in the summer of 2003) but I'm not sure at all because I never watched "Port Charles."

Oh this is nuts!!!

I don't know if BenBen posted this in his unreadable spoilers but apparently the death of Emily is just getting flat-out weird ... and stupid.

I knew something was up. ABC daytime president Brian Frons' date for the 2005 Daytime Emmy Awards was Natalia Livingston -- who won that night!!! Beating much more deserving thespian Robin Christopher whom has played Sky Chandler Quartermaine for over 20 years!!!

I knew she was too much of a teacher's pet for him to let her go.

Okay, apparently she does die this week. Then she comes back to haunt Nicholas the same way Alan is doing Tracy.

And apparently the two of them are going to work together to solve some crimes this fall.

And to top it all off, somehow Emily will come back from the dead next summer and reveal to us that we never really saw her die.

Just so Livingston can persue nighttime and movie projects.

Are you serious?!?! Why didn't they just write her out of the show for a while and send her away to "protect" her from Anthony Z. That would of been much more believeable.
