Get in loser, we're going shopping

Ok. I'll jump in. I need pants that fit the thinner me and some smart canvas shoes before we hit Budapest.

I hate shopping generally--but liked to check out CD stores that had a wide variety of music---the big one I really loved in NYC closed (fucking Amazon is taking over the world)----there are a few small one's left in the city but sadly seems Amazon.com is becoming the only game in town.

Recycling is best, of course, but, you know, I read once that barge loads of used carpeting leave the States everyday headed for China where it is used to make clothing to be shipped back to the States.

Your favorite hood sweater could be made from someone's piss-stained bathroom carpet. :)

These people say that the carpet could be shredded and marinated to make imitation pork dumplings.

I just pick up the bags of clothes people dump outside charity shops. Any old thing will do..

I like looking at Goodwill (and similar shops) for weird T-shirts.
Lex

Me too! I have a Metropolitan State t-shirt that I love and I didn't have to go to Denver to get it. Just to Lansdale, PA.

My very favorite t-shirt was purchased at a thrift shop on the northern edge of St. Paul. It's for the Buffalo County Humane Association's building drive, and features a cartoon dog and cat in hard hat and carpenters toolbelt. On the back all the sponsors are listed. For a while I had no idea where Buffalo County even was (turns out it's along the Mississppi River in Wisconsin) - but I totally love the shirt.

The only time I enjoy shopping is at flea markets and farm/yard sales. I live 20 miles from the Mall of America, since it opened ('92) I've been 3-5 times.....once was to smoke pot on the roof.

There are several places in Rochester that Sir Ron generally loves to leave some greenbacks...

The Record Archive is an independent music store with new and used records, CDs and DVDS.
World Wide News in Downtown Rochester is still a good newsstand. It used to be bigger and better , but the internet is doing it in.
Olindo Cash and Carry...Rochester's mega-Italian import supermarket
Outlandish, Rochester's leading LGBT store.

Cupid darling, dont you know that Mall and especially record stores are practically dead? ^^

But I do love to shop at Thrift stores like Goodwill, Value village, etc..
where else I get my 80's clothing?

I know, but I love record stores. I hope they don't all close down.

If you really into record, dont forget to snatch Lana's vinyl for home deco
It's a must "have" for homosexuals ^^

So will you help me buy some new clothes? My fashion sense is nonexistent.

I'm a sucker for clothing and sunglasses. One of my favorite places to shop is at South Coast Plaza, though I try to do more window shopping than anything else.

I buy most of my stuff online these days. If I'm bored I might go to JB HiFi or Dymocks, but mostly crowds just piss me off.

Oh, and while I was at Dimple the other day I found this

However, the closest record shop (HMV) is in Glasgow (8 miles away) after the one in Clydebank closed a few years back, which is a pain.

don't necessarily know if I'd call 'em favorites, but the 3 most likely stores you'd find me in...
Home Depot, Walmart, Target

I used to go to GoodWill somewhat regularly to look for CD's & other stuff (not clothing. I wont wear used clothes of any type)
Been a while since I've been there...as others have said there doesn't seem to be much good stuff there anymore.
I'll occasionally stop in a Habitat ReStore (don't find much there these days either)

Its been years since I've been to a fleamarket but I did used to enjoy that (I only know of one now, and its not close)
