Going up to my mom's while the rest of the family go to sis in-law's - my mom can't do crowds right now, so I'm spelling my son.

They'll stop by later in the day.
Depending on what's what, I may be on using the new laptop when things get quiet.

What does your normal day look like? Up/work/bed and such.
 
up at 6, by the time I'm dressed Ian will have made me a coffee and my lunch. I'm at work, which is only 10-15 minutes up the road, around 7.15 and I never have a normal day. My job as a visual merchandiser is different from day to day. I might be knee deep in menswear one day, the next day it could be knickers and bras. Or I'm down in the food hall.

I do shop layout, business unit l(men, women and kids and home and beauty) layout and grids, product merchandising, store presentation and appearance, décor implementation. I'm also the guy who dresses the mannequins and undresses them when the customer buys directly off them. I'm also on hand to assist customers with their shopping and give fashion advice.

I don't have a set routine, every time I think I might, it changes. My job includes being flexible and adjusting any work pattern to the needs of the store (and customer). I sometimes jump on a till or help with the stock-take.

And most importantly, I absolutely love my job.

I finish around 4, I come home, cook/eat. We're in bed by 8 with the telly on and a pile of sweets between us. At 10 telly gets switched off, Ian falls asleep soon after or has already hit the hay. I read for half an hour or so and the next morning it all starts again, unless I'm off and we go shopping or out for the day.

If you could spend one whole day as an invisible man/woman, what would you do?
 
Be a fly on the wall in the Oval Office, or similar.

Maybe look over Seth and Jason's shoulders while they skype each other, lol.

I used to be in mass merchandise - reset paint, hardware, and automotive departments, created planograms.

Done some warehouse layout in my day, too.
Now I'm on the purchasing (and some sales) side in wholesale/construction supplies.

Do you have a dress code at work? (Formal or customary)
 
Yes. Uniform shirt and khakis.

This can be answered by everyone now. Wedding: Large Formal or Small Intimate.
 
We had about 120+/- at our wedding back in the day - our son's had maybe 100?

Not Large by many standards, but big enough.

Buffets with seating diagrams, but people were relaxed.
My uncle called Square Dancing for ours - my mom's side of the family.

Do you like to cook?
 
I do but don't find the time to do it right. When I get home from work I go the quickest route.

Do you like cooking in a crock pot?
 
By fits and starts - I have to be in the mood, but I definitely like crock pots.
My 4qt that we'd had forever broke a year or so ago.
I'm down to just the 6qt and a small 1qt.

Haven't used so much lately.

Are you a news junkie?
 
I read the daily newspaper from here and from my parents hometown ( Have a lot of family there). Also watch the morning news when I get ready for work, the 6 pm and 11 pm news. I like knowing what is happening here and the world.

Do you dress neutral or bright colors?
 
Most of my pants are Khaki/Tan or Black. Usually wear solid color polo's - Black, Avocado Green or Bright Green, Russet or Bright Red, Navy or Royal Blue, even White or a Gold on occasion - some were from Vendor's others I bought.

Dress Shirts (for church on special occasions for the most part - White, Vellum, Lavender(didn't have a dark purple in my size - for Lent/Advent)) I try to dress in the correct liturgical color when I'm a Lector/Commentator.

I also have a lot of T-shirts - many are from Red Cross Blood Drives, some from Zoo Memberships, a couple Perpetuum Jazzile, a Tabasco, one from being a Chaperone/grunt parent at a High School Senior Bash (overnight lock in at the high school for the seniors).
Plus some vintage Cub Scout T's.

Where would you like to travel to if you had the time and resources?
 
Go to Ireland. That is where my family heritage is from. Like to look up distant relatives there.

Wales by way of Ireland, Germany, and somewhere in the Continental United States - the remnants of the tribe my maternal Grandfather's grandmother was from is currently NE California, but I really think it was much further East back in the day.

My kids get even more confused - add in England and France at a minimum.
 
Well, it was probably one of my Great Big Sea CD's. We just saw them in concert tonight, too - had a great time.

We have public transportation in my neighborhood, but I prefer driving my cars. I love driving. I only wish that I learn how to drive a manual.

Do you prefer your baths/showers in the morning or at night?
 
Both. Always shower before work and a quick one after.
