what was the incident that triggered all these weird trips down romper room lane?

what caused it?

and when for the love of god can it end?

it has always been the tradition at JUB that when someone asks a serious question we all respect the thread and strictly answer the question asked

otherwise, conversations have always been one of the more enjoyable aspects of this place and it seems you cant have one with out mutual screams of "hijack!!!" and "I'ma tell mommy on you !!!"

there are few threads going in hot topics and when one or two get going, someone pulls that juvenille sabotage thing and it all ends

once you make a thread and send it out into the ether you rescind your controll over it

it is not your property

it belongs to JUB

give it a rest

the bitching is more tedious and hujacking than the stuff being complained about

im offering the perspective that time away and distance has to offer

you guys are out of controll and ruining each others fun seemingly just for the sport of oneupmanship

When a thread starts to get hijacked, then it´s a free for all IMO

Well, if some one wants a thread on topic and says that they want it, what is the reason on just ignoring that person an continuing the Hijack?

People can do what they want with their threads, I have had a lot of threads hijacked before, just one thread lately I asked for it to stay on topic, but it didn't. I took it as a slap in the face. Possibly over reacted. But I really don't see why you'd continue to hijack a thread when a person simply asks that they want it to stay on topic.

I started a thread recently in which members starting getting hostile with one another, I asked them repeatedly to stay on topic and not attack one another, I reported it.

and the quote I posted is what I was told by a MOD.

basically if you post in HT there are no rules, people can say what they want within reason, as long as it does not break the CoC they are fine, if you find it offensive you can report it.

but otherwise.........give as good as you get! if its changed direction then follow it.........if you want a srious conversation then post it somewhere else.

Oh deary me, yet another thread about people whining about people whining about whining.


For the record: anyone and everyone is free to hijack any thread started by me, usually if it wasn't for a damn good bit of entertaining hijacking any thread that I start would be dead long before the end of the first page.


Also, hijacks usually don't just come out of thin air; something posted in the thread tends to have lead to it going 'off topic', and frequently the hijacks are some of the most entertaining bits on JUB.

and just to be clear here.... i am not whining, i am noticing what is occuring and asking how we came to this point

its rellevance i cant even guess at until i understand what has caused it.

there is a trend that has taken hold of the place

that trend is to accuse people of hijacking followed up by the threat of post reporting...

dont threaten just do it... report what bugs you.... ask any of the mods ... i do it all the time... they agree with me maybe ten percent of the time...and i dont look like the latest denizen of romper room by innitiating a round of......

honestly? the overall bitch factor around here has been over the top.

it's gotten to the point where the boards are just not fun anymore.

i don't know about anyone else but i find i tend to only join in with members i know or on threads i've had a heavy participation in already.

why it's come to this? how we got here? i don't know myself. all i know is that there is a level of disharmony of late that feels like a heavy fog.
