Glee! [merged]

^That's a RL drama story between Diana and Ryan Murphy. Ryan basically flipped the bird ever since Diana refused to guest star on the New Normal when he asked her. So turnabout is fair play and she got sacked from Glee.

Don't mess with the Velvet Mafia of Hollywood.

what I read was that Diana wasn't able to do the episode because she had already had committed contractual obligated promo engagments for her movie 'The Family'

I watched the show early on but as it got more over the top ridiculous and the auto-tuning went through the charts rarely watched, just saw some recommended clips. Murphy has fucked a great concept and should have been replaced years ago. Now "Glee" is at best a guilty pleasure and honestly haven't felt the desire to watch in a long time. Especially when following this thread over the past few years things have gotten worse. This show should have been gold but Murphy is a fucking egomaniac who simply isn't nearly as clever or talented as he thinks he is.

Finally got to watch "The Quarterback." I thought the episode was pretty decent, it never hit me hard emotionally like I expected. (This coming from someone who had tears in my eyes watching the ending to Toy Story 3 or even worse during Imitation of LIfe.) Primarily because there was no actual reason for Finn's death so everything seemed contrived, overdramatic even. All we're told is "it doesn't matter how he died, but how he lived" but people die unexpectedly all the time for various reasons. I *can* understand why due to Cory's real life death (like Kurt alluded), but it didn't make this feel any less hollow from that standpoint.

Wasn't a fan of Puck & Beiste's scene in the locker room, sort of thought Santana carried way too much of the story, and didn't understand why Kurt & Blaine were on opposite ends of the choir room until the end. Did the writer's forget they're engaged now?

What I really liked, I thought the Hummel's in Finn's room was really well played. Carole's breakdown was as raw as it could get from a mother's standpoint, really one of the best performances. Watching Lea was hard as well, I think she has done a great job of carrying on like a pro. Like I mentioned weeks ago, I haven't felt like she's been phoning it in as Rachel she's been playing her every bit as obnoxious, entitled as ever without skipping a beat. But in this one she is completely broken and it was sad to see the contrast between the two.

Ultimately I was glad the focus was on the old New Directions and not Blam & Them, every episode should take note.

I had not watched Glee since the spring of 2011.

Problem I have with series-television nowadays is that too many have become serialized. Not soap-opera in their content; but the approach of carry-overs, one storyline and another, from beginning to end of a given series. That gets to feel, for a viewer like me, as though it's a job.

With this Cory Monteith Tribute eppy of Glee, I felt there were at least two songs too many. And not having Dianna Agron, especially, and Heather Morris was lacking. It didn't feel right in connection with the history of the series and the relationships of the characters. And, though I understand the reason why the death of the character of Finn was not explained (as noted early by Kurt played by Chris Colfer), I still think the cause of the death of Finn should have become established. (I tend to think auto accident.)

I immediately removed this episode from my DVR. (I recorded it just in case I would not have been available as it aired.) And I don't intend to return to following Glee. I've moved on. But I am most sorry, in general and for human reasons, for the loss of this actor. I'm sorry he died.

^Car accident has been played out already. You missed the fucked up season 3 when Quinn got in a car accident on her way to Rachel and Finn's wedding due to texting on her blackberry. She was in a wheelchair for 2 episodes and shat all over Artie.

The problem with Murphy is he has good ideas but he doesn't know how to expound them. So the first one or two seasons are fine of any series he creates then everything falls to shit because he hasn't planned out any arcs.

I have moved on as well. Ryan Murphy has made this show unwatchable. I taped all of last season, and I couldn't even get past the 2nd episode. I wanted to just fast forward to the performances.

Yeah, once the show returns, I think I'll stick with NY-edits of the show. Which basically means 2-5 minutes of viewing, 10 if I'm lucky.

Santana's informercial from the previous episode was pretty funny.

^Again, it was obvious that Murphy wanted a Rachel/Finn endgame. Now we will get stuck with a Kurt/Blaine endgame which will be dreadful. I'm all for a gay storyline and promoting the "homosexual agenda" but Kurt and Blaine are such a bad couple.

Totally agree. I was never a fan of Rachel and Finn but they were much better than Kurt and Blaine. I've never bought the whole Kurt and Blaine thing, it all just seems so forced between them (which has to do with the writing more than the acting). Think that Kurt needs to find someone at NYADA and Blaine needs to end up with Sam (I'm still clinging onto this hope) because they clearly have more chemistry.

I wish Ryan Murphy would end Glee this season (but it's been renewed for next season so that's not gonna happen) just because most of the characters have run their course and they don't seem to be bringing in anyone new, just rehashed ideas that barely worked the first time. This season would have been a good one to wind down each characters story (although Murphy will probably end half of them off screen like he usually does with quick one line sum ups in an episode) but now they have to drag out and potentially create new stories that are only going to last one season. Either way, I'm glad they've finally recognised that it should end because I'm not sure how much more patience I had for Glee, I've spent the last few seasons trying to explain why I still watch it and I'm running out of reasons (my final one being Sam, but they're ruining his character).

^^Kurt & Blaine is problematic because there's an unhealthy dynamic between them. Blaine is the desired, alpha-gay while Kurt is the ugly, effeminate gay who should feel lucky that Blaine has eyes for him. (At least when Kurt is in the room he does.) I thought it was sort of telling when Adam complimented Kurt, he deflected and responded that Blaine "was the dancer in their relationship," which read to me that Blaine doesn't give out compliments often if at all. In fact I don't think Blaine ever refers to Kurt as nothing more then "adorable" or "dirty cute" (da fuck?). During his talk with Burt before the big proposal, Kurt tells him that he doesn't think he'll ever find someone like Blaine to love him the way he does. Which doesn't speak very highly on his own self-worth if he thinks at 19 he won't. For all the screen time that Blaine has received there has been zero character growth, I still feel like I don't know much about him except that he likes to sing. A lot. He cheats but refuses to take any blame, dating him IRL would be exhausting. I have to admit I thought the dynamic between them during "Got To Get You Into My Life" was cute, it was one of the few times I felt like they were a real couple, some spark even but that could be due to them actual talking about what happened instead of just hearing it from one perspective.

No disrespect intended. I'm all for homoeroticism between two males when done right, Blam don't do it for me at all. It's not only the writing that's a major problem but it's the actors involved too. Chord and Darren aren't strong enough actors so the obvious winks at the audience comes off as trying instead of just being. Chord's delivery with Sam being pro-gay marriage in the first episode this season was bad and a prime example of when bad writing meets a not-so-good actor. Darren singing/acting out "Against All Odds" with the same intensity as he did with "Teenage Dream [piano version]" showed that nuance performances just isn't his forte either.

An article from TIME stated best how I feel about this being the final season and what they should do from here on out.

I was disappointed in the 3rd episode of Glee where they killed off Finn's character. I thought it was stupid that someone died and you didn't explain how he died at all or show the funeral. It's probably a good thing that next season is the last season for Glee. The newer members of Glee have been in the background for the first 3 episodes. I thought that was stupid too.

The main reason Kurt and Blaine aren't working is the fact that they're both portrayed totally asexual...

My friends and me used to joke early on that Kurt was gonna be a "spinster". Blaine is a tad more sexual but still, very neutered.

I loved that, actually. The episode was clearly commemorating not just the character but the actor as well.

Personally I've been finding Kurt more attractive lately and Blaine less so (and not just because of the cheating thing). I feel like Chris/Kurt has really grown into his looks especially when comparing Season 1 to now. I found myself thinking more that Blaine is lucky that Kurt took him back. I miss the more confident, mature seeming Blaine from Season 2 whose hair wasn't so plastered down. Now his hair looks too much like a helmet, I can't stand most of the clothes they force him in, and I feel like they lowered his maturity somewhat when they decided to make him younger than Kurt (I thought in Season 2 that they were at least the same age but I could be wrong). I also feel like Darren has changed the speaking voice of Blaine to make him sound a little more whiny or something, I don't know, at least to me something about it changed from Season 2. Not trying to tear down Blaine, he has his good moments too but I used to think that Blaine was the more attractive of the two, but now I find myself thinking of Kurt that way. I was also a little put off by Kurt downplaying himself to Adam and thinking he wouldn't find anyone else who would make him feel loved like Blaine but then again, they're teenagers so I try to remember that sometimes teens think that way no matter what. For me, Kurt and Blaine are hit or miss, they have their cute moments like their Season 2 Christmas duet, the wedding episode last season, even the Come What May fantasy just to name a few but then there's the cheating, plus I don't feel like they're necessarily on the same page, and I definitely think they're too young to get married especially considering they just got back together.

My friends and me used to joke early on that Kurt was gonna be a "spinster". Blaine is a tad more sexual but still, very neutered.

Yeah, the cuddling was cute but didn't do much from a sexual standpoint in the episode where they had sex for the first time. The show started to do a little better IMO during the wedding episode with their making out in the car, Kurt pulling Blaine into the hotel room by his tie, and the "after sex" conversation but it's always so much less than the straight couples get on the show.

^I couldn't agree more with everything you posted. The little we got of Kurt this past season made me appreciate him more, he's really grown into his own on many different levels, like you I wasn't a total fan and preferred Blane to Kurt by far initially. Since the writers aren't all that great the character of Kurt seems to be in limbo, being gay is no longer an issue, so he's now just a prop for Rachel, Santana, and Blaine. Puberty hit Chris Colfer hard over the course of the show, I find him very attractive as well, no longer is he the ugly half of Klaine. Blaine being the preppy, rich, mature teen suited the character far better then the emotional, needy sack they've turned him into. (It's ironic this show pushes Blaine as the masculine partner in this paring when he exhibits most of the feminine characteristics while Kurt keeps his emotions in check. Not to mention how the show went out of its way to make Darren/Blaine taller then Chris/Kurt during seasons 2-3.) Another problem with Blaine is they've made him too perfect, he excels at virtually everything, he even has females wanting a piece of him knowing he's gay such as Tina turning into an internet Blaine stan over him. I'm sure once he's moves over there will be no real struggles for him nor any repercussions for singing everything like it is now at McK. I hope Blaine gets a makeover too, the bow ties & polo tee combos were cute for a hot min but are now creeping me out. It's dumb how quickly they rushed into their engagement but I suspect this will be a season long one (which comes with many problems on it's own) and their wedding happening sometime next season.

RE: "The First Time." Yeah I thought it was really lame too, but think the reason the two can't be seen as a couple with a healthy sex life is because it's "too gay" for FOX. (I'm surprised there were two m/m kisses in this season's premiere.) Puck & Finn really played it up while being Klaine in that one episode where various characters became each other. But they were able to get away with it because they're both straight actors and was played for laughs. I def agree this past season tried to rectify that a little by having Blaine mentioned he missed messing around with Kurt, the V-day wedding hookup, how Blaine talking "fratty" was like dirty talk, etc.

Darren's facebook page says he's in the running for several Perople's Choice Awards- maybe it's the pre vote....he's encouraging people to vote for him in 3 -4 categories- including best couple chemistry.....that's kind of a joke!

So he's fishing for votes and that is the same reason nobody takes the "people's choice" awards seriously.
