Glee! [merged]

I think moving the show full time to NYC might be just what the show needs. It needs to be freshened up, since it's been getting stale.

I think it's too little too late. The show has jumped the shark (the school shooting episode was that point) and there really is no saving this series outside of a mediocre ending. One could hope for a "RENT" ending.

I agree about it getting stale - but I think that is why they should let all the kids graduate and start off with a brand new batch of Freshmen rather than hanging on to ones that have already graduated....

RE: glee in NY. This is something I've been the biggest cheerleader for, but the only reason this is now being considered is because Sam & Blaine are graduating. Since the show runners are obsessed with making them lead characters the focus of course needs to shift to NY, where both will end up. If this does happen the focus needs to be spread evenly or in favor of the trio already established, this show doesn't need another season projecting how awesome Blam are. (I rag on Chord/Sam, but I just looked at some pics of him for the next episode and his body is on point.) I think a NY based show would make the show more enjoyable, but definitely agree that this won't help the show overall. "Wasted potential" sums it up perfectly, just how far this show has fallen.

Another rumored storyline for season 6 has Kurt moving... to Russia. Making Kurt an advocate is great, especially since the show did a good job of tackling a school shooting and cat-fishing. Oh wait...

Whilst I've never been that interested in the NY group (Rachel got on my nerves during her time there, only recently has she brought it back round to being tolerable), I do think they should have done this from the start. They didn't juggle the switching back and forth very well and nobody took anything seriously when Ex New Directioners were showing up at McKinley on a somewhat weekly basis. I do agree with Gemini_Valley in that they are probably only doing this because Blaine and Sam are graduating and they're going to shift them out there and follow it like that. Sadly that means we may have to endure a lot more Klaine (this pairing does not work for me, I have never found it at all believable). Oh and even I'm growing tired of Sam and I've been a huge fan ever since he debuted (this has less to do with the acting and the character, more to do with the amazing good looks [IMO]).

As for Kurt moving to Russia...just no. I know the entire show was praised for Kurt's coming out storyline (although to be honest it wasn't anything that hadn't been done before) but Glee really isn't able to put a message across subtly; it's always like being smashed in the face with a self righteous hammer.

^I absolutely agree, it was a joke on my part. I block out almost everything regrading Kurt in seasons 2-3 he was the most grating then and glee fails at handing anything with sensitivity or respect.

glee 5x05 'the end of twerk' extended summary

When a video of Blaine twerking goes viral, an inspired Will seeks to harness the power of the dance of the hour in a bid to “edge up” New Directions’ “America’s Sweetheart” image at Nationals. When several of the kids express concern over their inability to perform the new booty-shaking dance, Mr. Schue enlists Jake and Kitty for a tutorial. When a morally offended Sue uses her position as acting principal of McKinley to try and put an end to the “sexually explicit excuse for a dance craze,” the gleeks stage a protest leading to some potentially serious fallout.

In New York, Rachel feels the need to add a bit of rebellion to her life, so she convinces Kurt that they should get tattoos together. When things at the tattoo parlor don’t go quite as planned, a follow up visit leads Kurt to shake things up even more. Meanwhile, Unique struggles to find transgender equality in the bathrooms of McKinley High, and Marley learns that her boyfriend, Jake, has been cheating on her with Bree of the Cheerios.

I mean, clearly they've run out of ideas and none of this makes me excited at all.

It's sad... Glee has some very appealing stars but I'm very thankful I just fell out of watching after the second season and have barely gone back since. Watch an occasional performance video on You Tube, but that's it. Ryan Murphy is simply a horror show these days, and just about everything he does here at best disappoints and more often at worst appalls me.

^or heavily photoshopped.

I actually watched the recent episode tonight and yeah...still shit.

This lets me know how wrapped up in Glee I am this year....

I got a new DVR and forgot to set it to record Glee so I missed it! Did not even think about it when programing...

Haven't really watched it since season 2. But my God does this show preach and try too hard with things yes Kurt and Blaine should be seen to show Gay teens its OK people will still like you and yes the Glee Club find it hard but this it gets better ie get into college and an expensive NY apartment. Life isn't always like that it does get better but sometimes life sucks and I though it wasn't showing it as it could.

In regards to the Quarterback I think Murphy wimped out I hope the final episode will be a finger up to Fox but then again he needs to look in the mirror. Corey clearly was an addict from a young age you never stop being one 30 days in rehab isn't enough for someone who is worked non stop between short breaks between seasons then concerts. I cannot read the guys mind but I would hazard a guess the pressure of all this did not help so I would have had Finn die of a drugs over dose showing that although he had all this wonderful stuff going on in his life clearly there was a problem that was being ignored. End of rant.

Yeah the latest episode was pure shit from start to finish on both sides.

McK side -- In what universe is Katy Perry wholesome, good clean fun? Her breakout single was celebrating faux lesbianism for crying out loud. So the whole assignment from the get go was dumb and there wasn't enough to distinguish between being "a Katy or Gaga" when both are practically cut from the same cloth. "Applause" maybe one of the worst covers this show has done and we're still at the beginning of season 5. WTH was Sam on? He was talking excessively and I couldn't even make it thur his scene when he was coordinating this performance piece. Jake/Marley/Bree we've seen this triangle play out already in pervious seasons so who cares. (Marley was treated pretty bad in this one for standing her ground but since she is female it doesn't matter in glee-verse.) I love the continuity, Will announces that Nationals is 6 weeks away but by the end of the episode they're 4 weeks away.

NY side -- Kurt whines about not getting mainstream success and feeling inferior to everyone, for valid reasons. But by the end of the episode Kurt is exactly where he begins: swaying in the background in a band he founded. Adam is a good singer, I'm not a total fan, but thought his cover of "Marry The Night" was good. Both he and Demi seem like they're playing themselves tho.

'Klaine' was nominated for People's Choice- best couple chemistry- WHAT A JOKE!!!!

Darren Criss has been acting extra thirsty for those [STRIKE]Teen Choice Awards[/STRIKE] People's Choice Awards via twitter as of late.

So I know we like to constantly rag on the show, but what did you think of Unique singing If I were a boy? It kind of broke my heart a little! Definitely the best song of the episode!

^This is why I gave up on the show. It's one thing to have mediocre singing, it's entirely another to have a mediocre plot. At least serial soaps are more consistent in terms of plot than this piece of shit. It's gotten to the point of Family Guy where someone should just put it out of its misery.

OK- I watched the episode last night, where the NY crew was robbed by hunky Santa...Kurt says he's recently single and he and Santa made out....I fast forward through most of the shows- what happened with him and Blaine- or was this a re run?????

There was a clip at the opening explaining that this episode was shot last year and FOX would not air it -

I guess they made a number of edits and did some talking to FOX on others and got to use it this year but the story fit outside of what passes for continuity on Glee...

I've stopped live watching this show after the Katy/Gaga mess, and not even the NY side can keep me enthused anymore. I pretty much watch now at my convince, but the episodes followed have been even worse. Just some quick thoughts.

The End of Twerk -- I liked how everyone acted like robotically popping one's ass is "twerking." Unique's "If I Were a Boy" was good but made no sense with her storyline. That song is about how one feels in a relationship not about her "wanting to be a boy to understand." Kurt & Rachel wanting to rebel was cute... but should have happened before he started his band (which is lame in itself) so this felt out of sequence. Rachel's "Finn" tattoo was a nice moment.

Movin' Out -- What the NY side of glee will be once Blam moves over... and hell no to Rachel & Sam. I did like the last group number for "Just The Way You Are." This Bree chick on the McK side is really annoying.

Puppet Master -- All about Blaine. All of Blaine's irritating characteristics were put on display and he was seriously creepy with the Kurt and Tina puppets. In fact he seemed a little manic and if glee were to go down a mental health issue with Blaine it would sort of make sense. But by the end of show he got what he wanted so whatever.

Previously Unaired Christmas -- "Shut up, Blaine" following the previous show was well needed. The McK side wasn't too bad in this one, but Sue was all I cared about. Santana was at her snarky best, Kurt was able to get a little something outside of Blaine, and Rachel was her usual self with always having a plan. This one wasn't too bad and there were some LOL-moments.

This episode was filmed three weeks ago but framed as "previously unaired." "Last year" Finn, Brittany, Joe, Sugar were all present and Will was off in DC. Blaine was in NY with Kurt (along with Burt), Rachel was on a cruise with her dads, and Santana was nowhere to be seen. This episode was just an excuse for glee to do a Xmas themed show since the timeline is all kinds of fucked up and has served no real purpose.

I think the episode where Sam was posing for modeling shots taken of him when Blaine and him were in NY were hot. It was funny how Tyra Banks' character was on the episode. I hope if they do move the show to NY, that Sam follows as a model. It would be hot to see him model in Underwear or speedo's.

Yeah, so I know this thread is dead...

The big 100th episode titled... "100" is going to feature the top 10 most "voted" upon songs from seasons past redone. So far the list isn't too bad and it looks like the originals will take center stage for this one.

Puck - Keep Holding On
Santana & Brittany - Valerie
Rachel, Kurt & Mercedes - Defying Gravity
Will & April - Raise Your Glass
Quinn, Santana & Brittany - Toxic

So they're going to be based in NY the rest of the season and the usual crap of people staying and going is happening so.
