'Inappropriate behavior'

Adding to the whole Burt/Kurt controversy: last season, when 16-yr-old Kurt had Brittany in his basement, his Dad didn't seem to mind the lack of consent. He even said to use protection if things got serious. So why is he not ok about it anymore (even with 17-yr-old Finn and a girl)

I think he was just busting his balls b/c he knew nothing was really gonna happen. He's known for a long time Kurt was gay and tried to be supportive as he could. Kurt just continues to set a bad example. The fact is most gay people have straight parents. And it's not fair but people's parents are not perfect when dealing with a gay child. When a child comes out, it is up to the child to be reasonably patient and help their parents get through it. Too many gay people think when people in their lives are not ready to join PFLAG overnight, they are bigots n homophobes.

I've always had been baffled by Kurt's plight as a closeted man and now that he's out. Rachel is either his #1 or #2 fag hag (the other would be Mercedes) and she has been raised by two gay men, why Kurt and these men have never met is beyond me. Kurt has even been to Rachel's house now (her dads were away on Rosie's cruise) yet he didn't even ask Rachel anything about her dads or if he could meet them. And apparently her dads fit some stereotypes, what with the basement turned into their oscar party room and they raised Rachel with showtunes etc. Plus, wasn't enrolling at the boys school and being in the warblers supposed to expose Kurt to tons of gay boys? Who was Blaine friends with before?

*Sigh* I'm taking this show way too seriously lol

I really can't answer the question about Rachels dad(s) but as for the other two questions: No they specifically pointed out that the school wasn't a "gay" school but that it had really strict harassment policy (so no being in the Warblers was never about exposing him to tons of gay boys). There wasn't much back story for who Blaine was friends with although it would be expected that he was friends with the other Warblers at the very least.

My biggest problem with how they present Kurt is his total lack of knowledge- it's not 1981 or 1991- he and everyone has access to the internet- there are 1000s of gay youth sites, etc....very easy to get on a site/message board, etc- hell, even JUB- they don't check your age, you just click 18, right?
Hell yes, major problem that I have with this show, even if Kurt was too shy with actually dating someone on-line I can't fanthom the idea that he wouldn't have at least a half-dozen on-line friends, and honestly, it would be very likely that he would have a dozen of non-romantic friends that he met thanks to the internet.

OF COURSE internet is evil, so they can't show to LGBT teenagers that a medicine to loneless is a click away

I don't know, aagold76, there's a lot of weird and situational stupid shit on the show. Like how Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are characters, Wicked is a huge Broadway musical yet neither of them exist in the Wicked universe even although they originated the principle roles.

I'm just assuming Kurt's lack of knowledge boils down to shitty writing. In that regard, the show would be nothing without the songs.

I'm a bit confused..... didn't Rachel say in the first season that she didn't believe in celibacy? Yet...she's in the club? When did she re-join? My memory's bad.

The problem behind all the issues people have with this show is the fact that the show tries to be too many things at once. It tries to be sarcastic yet sincere; whimsical yet serious; up-to-date yet old fashioned. It's got multiple personality disorder, and while most of its personalities are enjoyable, trying to integrate them into something that makes sense enough to debate it is virtually impossible.

The creators like to have their cake and eat it too, but too often they don't seem to consider how it tastes to everyone else.

Still, I love the damned show.](*,)

Glee - Sex Talk With Dad & Kurt

I think they did a great job. For those that saw it...what do you think?

"The Talk"

Dad: First, most of the mechanics of what you are going to be doing is in the pamphlets. So I want you to read them and then I want you to come talk to me about it. Deal?

Kurt: Ok.

Dad: Alright now. Hey, sit down! We are just getting started. Alright, for most guys, sex is just the sin we all want to do. You know, It's fun, feels great, but we are not really thinking too much about how it makes us feel on the inside or how the other person feels about it.

Kurt: And women are different?

Dad: Only because they get that it is about something more than just the physical. You know, when you are intimate with somebody, in that way, you're exposing yourself. Your never going to be more vulnerable. And that scares the hell out of a lot of people. Believe me, I can't tell you how many buddies I've got who have gotten way too deep with a girl who said that she was cool with just hooking up.

Kurt: But that is not going to happen to me, Dad.

Dad: No, it is going to be worse, because it is two guys. With two guys, you have two people who think sex is just sex. It is going to be easier to come by. And once you start doing this stuff, you are not going to want to stop. You got to know that it does mean something. You know, it is dong something to you: to your heart, to your self-esteem. Even though it feels like your just having fun.

Kurt: So you're saying that I shouldn't have sex.

Dad: I think on your 30th birthday, it is a great gift to yourself. (kidding) Kurt, when you're ready, I want you to be able to do everything. But when you're ready I want you to use it as a way to connect to another person. Don't throw yourself around like you don't matter. Cause you matter Kurt.

Kurt: Is that it?

Dad: That's it, for now. Can I make you some toast.

Kurt: I think that I will take it up to my room to eat while I look over my new pamphlets. Thank you Dad.

Dad: You're welcome.

Re: Glee - Sex Talk With Dad & Kurt

I loved this scene tonight. My parents had "the talk" with me before I was out, but the internet helped me as much as it had helped Blaine.

Re: Glee - Sex Talk With Dad & Kurt

You know for a show that I don't really like, it sometimes has some pretty good writing.

>_> Maybe I'm a closet Glee Fan

So, Kurt 'tried' watching porn but he could only think of what the porn stars mothers were thinking and the horrible tattoos? What a fucking joke. It's pathetic to the point of not being funny, actually.

Does anyone think of porn stars and their actual lives when they're aroused? I sure as hell don't.

Re: Glee - Sex Talk With Dad & Kurt

Hmm, I guess it's good . . . when I saw it, it rang untrue because I had seen way more than I needed to know by the time I was about 10 or so due to the Internet. We had it very early on. So a high school kid not knowing about sex at all? I thought it was a silly plotline, but hearing you all talk, maybe I just had a bad introduction to sex. This was certainly a much nicer one than the web-sites I found as a kid. My parents were never great at knowing what was age appropriate either. I remember our family movie one night being the People Vs Larry Flynt when I was in sixth grade, lol. My parents talked to me about sex when I was very young, like maybe around 5 or 6 and told me some things that really scared me, especially about gay sex. Maybe that's some of the reason of why I am the way I am--still a virgin, not too interested in sex.

who wants to bet there will be no mention of Santana now being somewhat of a lesbian for another half a season....next episode she'll just be back to old Santana. (I know there has always been her stuff with Brittany but...there won't be any mention of this deep of feelings for a long time)

Also...when did Quinn move back to her parent's house? Wasn't she living with Mercedes?

Also...why do they keep bringing Gwyneth Paltrow on...she is hooooorible. I don't know if I hate an actress more than her.

Blaine is becoming the sole reason to watch the show....Brittany, Lauren and Santana are even starting to grow tired.
