Glee! [merged]

Well- they bombarded us with Darren, we got used to him (some even only watch for him...), then they make you go cold turkey....I'd want my boyfriend to help me plan a funeral (OK- not an ideal event, but help with anything I'm planning)...they need to have Blaine at McKinley- one, he's a better performer than all the other guys and two, he's an enormous cash cow for the show in general

This so much, though I fear what will happen if he actually goes to McKinley... I mean, dunno how he would fit, or at all.

Well, the episode had me crying. The tribute, that they did it for Sue despite herself was creative, sensitive and amazing. Sue's one weakness was her sister - and her death was the perfect opportunity to expose an additional dimension to Sue.

I loved that Finn finally grew some balls - when he took charge and told the group they were doing the tribute - the look he shot Jesse was *gold*.

yeah... I'm just not a Blaine fan in general. he's perfect and flawless and everyone loves him and he's just a really goddamned boring character.

love you long time. I can't stand Blaine's character either, his songs are just sung completely awkwardly to me, I don't understand the fascination.

As for Jesse St James, he also has got to go. People say Sue is a cartoon, this guy is Warner Brother's whole damned cast. When he was first introduced it was ok, now he just seems fake, so fake that it pains me to watch any part of the episode where it looks like anyone's taking him seriously or believing anything that falls out of this guy's mouth.

Also Will is an idiot for putting the vest in the throw away box. Last episode he was crying how he doesn't want to lose her, this week he's more than happy to move on. derp?

Watched some in the first season, not so much n the second.....am I on the right track thinking seeing comments here and elsewhere that Glee may already have jumped the shark or is perilously close to doing so...are the creative staff too self-indulgent,out of synch with the fan base or just arrogant incompetents who wanna prove another potentially show can be dumped in the sewer because the characters become caricatures of themselves or the messages are laid too thick and heavy? At first, what a fun new show with lots of great possibilities, now it's one snipe or another how things have gotten so awful.

I should point out that the comments here on JUB are generally harsher and more negative than you'll see anywhere else. On other sites the general opinion of season two is much better. In fact, there are sites where Chris Colfer is actually appreciated for what his character is doing for gay visibility. Imagine that. ..|

the only parts of the show I watch are the ones with Kurt and Blaine- the rest is mind numbingly bad....the only scene I remember forwarding through on Kurt was his Sunset Blvd number- after a minute, the cringing started.....well- OK, if Chord takes his shirt off, I'll watch that,too- after doing it weekly at the start, he hasn't taken it off in a while- since the family is broke, he could work as a go go boy in a gay club and make a fortune....and don't scream at me- 'HE'S UNDER AGE'....since when has a high school student on TV had trouble getting into a bar???????

I heard that the former-porn star Rocky Gaucho (Rocky Oliveira) starterd his "career" as go-go boy at age of 15.

Either way, I am in the same boat, I want to see the other characters, but only Kurt has anything remotely interesting going on, everything else is just so bad, annoying and lacks character or plot development.

Oh yes, because an incredibly bitchy, morally inept and Mary Sue of a gay teenager is so fantastic for the LGBT community? Okay then.

Funeral: Great episode.

The good:

-It's the first episode in a while with a bit of realism to it.

The bad:

-Kurt keeps getting the worst songs. If he's so keen about singing female songs (which is already annoying), can he at least sing something that belong to the last 20 years?
-Dianna Agron's acting. I still can't get over that she doesn't even react when things happen, she didn't even react when *SPOILER* Finn broke up with her she only shed like a tear and seemed like they meade her smell onions or something before the scene so she could shed that one tear *END SPOILER*.
-Dianna Agron in general. I mean, I don't even know if Quinn is a bad character or the fact that she can't act has made Quinn a bad character. In any case I can't stand Quinn, from her coldness to her 60s housewife wardrobe, to her idiotic aspirations in life to be a prom queen and marry and have Finn's kids...can she be any more stupid and shallow?

You can't be a bitch and a Mary Sue. Mary Sues are so sweet and nice, they give you diabetes; bitches are anything but sweet and nice.
And what makes Kurt morally inept? He doesn't drink, smoke, swear, or fornicate, plus he helps other people (Karofsky, Sue and Trouty Mouth). If you're referring to his atheism, you don't need a 2000 year old book to know right and wrong, mein freund!

When "Born This Way" aired, most of you bitched that Sue wasn't serious enough, then after "Funeral" aired, it was all, "OMG! Sue is too serious!". Make up your fucking minds! Too many of you guys harp about how silly and unreal the show is...THAT'S THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT! It's a show about teens breaking into song at the drop of a hat! Sue remade Physical with Olivia Newton John, for fuck's sake. It's supposed to be ridiculous, you sillyheads!

100% Agreed. I like Kurt, but he needs to dial the gay from 11 down to 7.

As for Diana Agron, she's the January Jones of the cast...a pretty blonde with only one facial expression hired to stand still and look pretty.

lol what? Oh, the fact that...umm...gee - one of dozens - his boyfriend says he was the victim of physical gay bashing and two flat seconds later he spouts an absurd thing saying it's the perfect time to go to prom, without comforting him? And that's okay to you? That's some serious ass-backward logic.

Kurt is fucked. He's biphobic, insensitive, narcissistic and written as a victim (then cherished by some of the fan base) when he too is often a bully in his own right. Kurt is a Mary Sue because he's an author's character in which Ryan Murphy vicariously lives through; much like Blaine Anderson. He can do no wrong. I've never seen Kurt chastised for any of his actions on this show by any of the other characters.

He's probably my least favourite character on the show.

It's not about making up our minds. It's about wanting decent writing. You do not swing to polar opposites in back-to-back episodes. That's extremely poor writing. Individually, the three showrunners are great. When they get together it's a clusterfuck.

I hypothesize that Ryan Murphy and Co. sold out to record labels/estates sometime between the first and second seasons and are tossing in inappropriate song choices irrelevant to the plot to generate revenue/budget. A combination with this and Blaine/Kurt's silly power coupling have bogged the show down. The first season was nothing like the second. It's jumped the shark two seasons in.

Well, the writing is just fine for me - this show is the way my life was in high school in so many ways - and the storylines are continually pushing buttons that evoke so many memories. So what if some of them are a little over the top - don't we have plenty of people in our lives that are over the top themselves? I love this show.

When Blaine mentioned his gaybashing to Kurt, he then told Blaine that they didn't have to go to the prom if it made Blaine uncomfortable. However, Blaine wanted to go because he didn't want the bullies to win. Kurt wasn't being "biphobic"...he was just jealous that Blaine might have been attracted to Rachael. Kurt has done bad things, like trying to sabotage Finn's relationship to get his attention (can't remember if he got called out on it).

If you dislike Glee so much, CHANGE THE CHANNEL! Ryan Murphy isn't holding a gun to your head!

I used to love this show. After the finale, my confidence in Glee is really starting to erode. It was one of the worst episodes of the year. A finale should not be described as boring with bland music but that was the case. I found last years finale uplifting and watched it several times. I've already erased this one. And Sam and his new girlfrend....I think that duo is hardly plausible. Then again, latley this show is written with less depth than a comic book.

Boring? Bland? Are you sure you weren't accidentally watching "Dancing With The Stars"?

And what makes Mercedes and Sam's relationship implausible? Because she's black and he's white? Or because she's overweight and he's slim? Big black chicks need love too!

BTW- If you insult comic books again, I WILL BRING IT! 8^)

You must be daft. Saying bisexuality is something gay guys use to hold a facade and adamantly defending your stance on that is biphobic. Extremely so. There's nothing nice about Kurt - is there? Find me something nice. He's bitchy, hurtful, yet well-liked because he's constantly spun to be the victim.

Awful writing.

How is Kurt unrealistic? A lot of gay guys are biased against bisexuals. Thankfully, Blaine is helping him get over that.

As for Kurt not being nice? HELLO! The funeral? Donating clothes to Sam's family and raising money to get his guitar out of hock? Helping Karofsky deal with his sexuality?

First you guys complain about Kurt being a Mary Sue, and now you harp about what a heartless bitch he is! Which one is he, guys? Make up your mind! Last time I checked, human beings are sometimes nice, and sometimes they're assholes!

Why are you spending so much time hating on a fictional character? If you're going to hate him, hate him for reasons you didn't pull out of thin air.

I am not crazy about the finale. Past years have been big numbers, and exciting. This finale had a lot of Artie and Britney singing...not good.

And what was the point of having big stars like Cheyenne Jackson, if you aren't going to use them for their musical abilities. I can't believe he didn't sing one song this whole season.
