Glee! [merged]

It's been way too long since Jayma Mayes (Miss Pilsbury) sang, and she killed it!!!

Also unrelated but Vaporape! LOL!!

It was heavily augmented but still decent. I still look back at her and her "breakthrough" role in Ugly Betty.

I do have to say that Glee has bored me considerably over this season, there has just been nothing worth following because it's all resolved an episode or two later. No long term storyline arch and those that do get long term storylines lack any sort of personality (Marley and Ryder.

:=D: To your entire post, really.

Each episode this season has been a self-contantined unit, one doesn't need to watch the previous show to know WTH is going on since the writers don't seem to remember. I'm a fairly new fan of the series, but am now fully caught up, after receiving seasons 1-3 as a Christmas gift. No doubt this current season is the weakest, one of the factors is the split narrative. It's just not working at all. It's going to be interesting to see what is going to happen next season with a lot of the principle characters from Lima graduating. Which has basically become The Blaine Show (featuring Sam, Tina and Brittany) with sprinkles of Jake, Marley, and Ryder. The newbies are so underdeveloped, bland, interchangeable, forgettable (who is the kid with dreads again?), etc, that there's just no way they can carry that side of the storyline. I believe Artie, Tina, Brittany and Sam will either be dropped or regulated to guest star status at the end of this season with Blaine moving to NY (along with Finn). So now Glee will have all their heavy hitters in NY whereas Lima will have... no one.

Santana rocked this last episode. Kitty's bringing out her inner bitch in full form, but she still pales in comparison.

A few random things I learned last nite...

- Darren Criss will never make it in [dramatic] films. He gives horrible face. He will be fine in theatre though.
- Brody a drug dealer? I don't buy it. Gigolo, makes a lot more sense.
- Oh Ryan Murphy, so much crappy 80s music shoved into one episode. Not another teen movie was 10x better at parodies than Glee will ever be.
- Santana can talk a lot of smack but nobody can dish it back to her? Come on.
-Fuck Mr. Shue. He is a Marty Stu at this point and needs to just go away permanently.

HUGE SPOILER WARNING

The upcoming episode titled "Shooting stars" is about a school shooting in which nobody dies. I get the feeling this episode will get panned HARD and may be the straw that broke this shows already frail back.

My first instinct about Brody was gigolo. But as weird as this season has been, wouldn't surprise me if it is drug dealer.

Maybe he's both? Cocaine and whores go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

After seeing them do Footloose and Danger Zone, I'm surprised they didn't sing "I'm Alright" from Caddyshack. Kenny Loggins must have given Ryan Murphy some awesome buttsex.

And they did that scene from Ghost and didn't have Whoopi show up? For shame, Glee! FOR SHAME!

@Maxpower: Seriously? There is no way that won't blow up in their faces. Ryan Murphy doesn't so "respectful" or "subtle".

Since the HS side was one big jukebox, here are some of the musical numbers that stood out:

Shout -- The big 500th performance number had a lot of energy and looked a lot of fun. But having Blaine & Brittany on lead vocals? Just no. Both are definitely the top tier of dancers but this cover was so lifeless and flat that it almost took me away from the dancing. I say this as a newly fan of Blaine/Darren Criss, but there is just too much of him on this show. TPTP need to deal back how many songs/performances he's featured in, but I suspect Blaine overload will continue.

Come What May -- The sap in me thought this was really sweet. This performance worked because it set up Kurt's POV: he clearly has feelings for Blaine despite wanting to move on. From the very little that we know and see of Adam, I'm liking him. I hope they don't royally fuck him up just so that Kurt will have no other choice but Blaine.

Footloose -- This should have been the big 500th number. It's a shame that Artie is sidelined so much because he's the best singer on the HS side, IMO. Very fun number.

"I Do" had Rachel flipping her period calendar to March, indicating a time jump, yet Santana voice over says it's only been a week since she's been in NY. Oh Glee.. gotta love that continuity. I've said it before in this thread and I'll say it again: I would proudly watch a NY version of this show any day. Rachel, Kurt, Adam, and (especially) Santana made this episode for me.

I just see the series getting FUBAR after this season when the rest of the original cast "graduates". Nobody gives a shit about the new people outside of eye candy.

Watched this week's episode finally and it was probably the best of the season so far.

- Seriously, a catfish scenario? Maybe Murphy is more topical than I give him credit for.
- Blaine is still intolerable. I will have to watch Darren Criss on Kathy this coming week to see if makes him come out.
- Santana, oh, sigh... If the writing wasn't so poor, we could actually see some acting ability on this show.
- Somewhere in the back of my mind during the fight scene, all I could think was: "Kurt's dad is a Congressman, right?" So much for story cohesion on Glee.

I thought it was one of the worst by far.

Internet fans are clearly responsible for these latest scripts with all the "flop" & "donkey face" references and Finn's [STRIKE]subtle[/STRIKE] endgame reaffirmation "Stay away from my future wife!" I actually felt sorry for Brody after this one. Just a sloppy, lazy episode that made no sense especially the feuds.

Finn & Will? Terrible and who cares. The boy-band mashup was even worse. Ryder & Unique? Feud came out of left field and was quickly resolved, but thought their mashup was the best. Sue & Blaine? I assume this show has no rights to Mariah's music, because "I Still Believe" isn't even her song. Their mashup was more of a medley and just didn't mesh. The constant fangirling over Blaine this season is really turning me off this character, which is crazy because he was the reason I became hooked. The ass licking -- ok, what is up with the obsession on his ass, when it's not all that impressive to begin with? -- has gotta stop. Blaine's "loss" is him getting to be co-captain, essentially a win. Sam & Blaine's friendship just bores me so didn't care if they have some plan to take down Sue, and since Blaine always prevails, they likely will. Poor Tina is now back to swaying in the background now that her crush on Blaine is over (though Sue's cracks on her were pretty funny).

As much as I enjoy Santana both her antics and "Cold Hearted" left me meh in this one.

I'm with you Gemini. I thought this episode was no good. Totally started undoing what was going for them this season. Will's thing with Finn is more juvenile than Ryder's issue with Unique. I can see where it comes from, but I think it's kind of out of left field for his character. Might have fit someone like the young Puck more.

Finn coming back into Rachel's life. Fuck that. They've got to find a way to get him to New York, but then they just started implying he'd be a teacher? What the heck.

I like Blaine's character, but they made him "the" player at the school, and that seems silly to me. Out of character, considering (like he admitted), he was only there for Kurt to begin with.

How does Finn have the money to just show up in New York :dead:

^his step dad is a congressman, duh!

I am well beyond the BS that is McKinley High.

I was 50/50 on the episode. I'm not really into Blaine, so it's nice to see him get knocked down a peg by losing to Coach Sue, who has finally become fun again now that they seem to have sent her baby on the same bus as Chuck Cunningham on Happy Days and Seven on Married With Children. Becky, of course, is awesome as ever. I actually like Blaine's friendship with Sam - I truly hope they don't fuck and stay just friends, but Ryan Murphey hasn't met a tired cliche he doesn't like.

Ryder and Unique's conflict did come out of nowhere, but it did address issues that trans people deal with, and it gave us an excuse for Wade to werk it as Unique. Plus, it made me hate Kitty a little less, which I didn't think was possible.

The thing with Will and Finn was blown out of proportion. Shue is acting like Finn fucked Emma in front of everyone at the wedding and behaving like Coach Sue over it. Finn fessed up and seems truly sorry, (and even helped Shue find Emma) so Shue needs to suck it up and readjust his tampon.

I loves me some Santana, and she killed it on Cold Hearted Snake. I'm glad Brody The Living Blow-Up Doll is gone, and i'm elated that Our Patron Saint of Bitches sicced Finn on him and delivered an epic beatdown.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ryder's catfishing will pan out. Is she really a girl? Is it Jake trying to troll him in revenge for kissing Marley? Is it Kitty weaving another tangled web of deceit? And who shot JR?

I was disappointed by the lack of Britnay's goofy antics and Kurt's new BF, Dr. Who Jr.

Thank you. The irritating part is their true luv being hammered into every other episode nowadays when they're not even together. I guess that declaration was suppose to be sweet & romantic when it was just creepy & moronic. Just like Finn Schuester. I hope him becoming a teacher is a storyline they'll drop but I don't think they will. Thanx Marley.

Blaine is definetly the golden [STRIKE]gay[/STRIKE] boy, he's class president, sings lead constantly, has a crush on his str8 bro, and now is co-captin of his cheerleading team. All story lines that Kurt had but were met with disappointments, for example I didn't recall Sue pursuing Kurt to stay on as a Cheerios even after leading them to a National's win. It's very easy to forget that he is a "gold star gay" when he's constantly fawned over as being the best at everything.

I am well beyond the BS that is McKinley High.

Preach!

I did like that Unique as a transgender was addressed, but I think the Sadie Hawkins dance episode would have been a much better vehicle for it. Ryder didn't seem to have any problems previously but then all of a sudden it's an issue? It just set the tone for a mind numbing episode. I find Kitty to be too cartoonish, her being Team Unique didn't shift her in my favor whatsoever. But good for her, I guess.

Seriously. Will being pissed is all sorts of ridiculous, and I FF'd through all their scenes. I simply just can't.

Last night's episode was probably my favorite so far this season. I of course knew all those guilty pleasure songs although, brit brit did cover My Prerogative when she was going through her cray phase.

However, I know continuity is nearly nonexistent in this series so people will just fop out and forget what happened last episode.

I will say, I am bit terrified for next week's episode of "'Shooting' Stars".

Well when Brit did "My Perogative" she was doing the Britney Spears version. Last night was the Bobby Brown original. Lyrically almost identical only slightly different musically. Not too mention I don't think Spears version was a big enough hit for most to know it exist. In any event for once continuity is not an issue for Glee

Guilty Pleasures was one of the better Glee shows of the year. As Chord's contributions have picked up, the show has improved. And it also seems like they've gotten away from the after school special feels with lectures from Mr Schue like they used to have.
