Good Riddance: Rahm Emmanuel is leaving WH

God I hate Rahm Emmanuel.

Is there anyone that LIKES the guy? Besides Mr Massa, anyway.

Apparently the President does...

I think Rahm was doomed when he got rid of dean at the DNC. Hill and Bill made sure Rahm's days were numbered from that point on.

Just a guess, god in heaven PLEASE don't ask me for proof that Hillary got rid of Rahm.

You just can't piss that many people off in washington and stay in the town. especially the Clintons.

For the most part, I thought Mr. Emmanuel was a big disappointment. He appeared to be a hard-nosed "wheeler dealer." Looks can be deceiving.

His absence from the White House will be welcomed by Washington folks and his arrival in Chicago might be likewise. Hey, everybody wins!

The fact that he actually wants to be Mayor of Chicago speaks volumes.

The fucking maddening part of that whole ordeal is that Howard Dean's strategy of competing in all 50 states and his modernizing the Democratic party is what got Obama to actually win in the first place! Howard took a LOT of heat in his decision, but it ultimately was proven correct. And how was he repaid by the person that benefitted by this, Obama? He was fired from his job! What a joke. This also was a Rahm decision as Chief of Staff.

Mr. Dean believed in standing up for what you believe and not being afraid of it. What have you actually heard of from the new DNC chair? Do you even know who the chair is?

Yep.. good riddance to him on the national scene... I pity Chicago though if he gets elected as their mayor...
Lord knows that city has enough problems..

I never understood why people thought Dean was foolish to campaign in all states. To skip states is basically to say, "Fuck you, you don't count". I know plenty of Oregonians who won't vote for a presidential candidate who hasn't visited the state, a Senate candidate who hasn't visited their county, a House candidate who hasn't visited their town....

To me, Dean's opponents were saying that the only people who matter were the ones in the heavily-populated states, and at that mostly in big cities. That attitude is a prelude to feudalism. So IMO, Dean was a democrat/Democrat, and they were feudal oligarchs.

Rahm is a plus minus kind of guy. I don't see him as a good mayor just as I didn't see him as a good representative. Where he is good is as an agent, just like his brother Ari, where you have to be balls out front aggressive.

I like Rahm Emanuel. Thanks, Rahm, and good luck in my home town!

sort of a fuck u to obama

rahm looked like a million bucks

and as mayor of chicago he'll prob make that much

rahm is all about rahm

just like his old boss

I tend to think that Obama may have been pressuring him to go. This is not the first rumor, that he was leaving, its just the first real one.

He's been looking for a new job for a while.

Obama was not well served by Rahm, and the president is NOT an idiot. He knows that.

I think it shows the remergence of clinton's power within the Democratic party, and that may be the biggest threat to Obama. If CLinton, the past president starts calling the shots within the party, Hillary is more likely to run a primary against him in 2012.

Having the past president with more authority within the party shows that Pres Obama never quite gotten his own party behind him along the way. The fact that many of dems seeking ofice in midterms are running anti obama commercials for the election is also telling.

Unfortunately the reason that he is not liked as much as Clinton is that he is less of a partisan, and will negotiate with republicans even though they are not going to vote with him, and tend to not negotiate in good faith.

He's lost the kusinich crowd for that reason. The radical left is not happy with Obama.

Its showing cracks in the Democratic party at a point when they are trying seperately to NOT show that and appear strong and united to get the vote out in november.

In spite of all that, I think the dems will still do better than people here tend to expect, but in just a month we shall find out.

I do know this, If Rahm hadn't forced Dean out, the Dem party and the nation would be much stronger. SO Rahms first move was his biggest mistake that led to his own ouster.

IMO...lol
