Goodbye GAyForIt, JerkYourTube and ItsAll Gay....

I spelled it with an 'o' on purpose, I'm not stupid. And as for why I came into this thread it was because of the title. But as usual all it was is JasUn crying or bitching or being negative about something that has to do with HIM. Me me me and pissy this pissy that is all I ever see from this guy. Maybe being in the porn biz makes you that way.

The people who start the threads are listed right next to the thread title. If you don't look at it, that's your problem. If you don't like Jasun's threads, don't read them.

And note who's whining and complaining now.

People never fucking listen to themselves, do they?

Well... no, I do... I LOVE the sound of my own voice. :gogirl:

Um... no... you can join any or all of our sites for just a single month. The $34.95 price point is for a single month for all three of our sites with recurring billing, although you can cancel your subscription any time, even before the first month is up.

Thanks for the clarification.

(and in a single month, we release 20-25 scenes across our three sites)

The quantity is impressive.

If you want to join for 3 months at a time, the price point is a lot lower than that

That avenue already seems to be working for you in terms of current users. Now you have to reach the people who’d rather go through the pain of watching extremely poor quality clips of stolen content on sites like GayForIt.

And I do agree about the whole "same scene over and over again" which is something we've tried to NOT do with Cocksure Men which is why we have scenes shot in side and out, all over the Jake Cruise Ranch.

It isn’t just the locations. I’d suggest diversifying the actors and themes, too. If you are going for quantity, especially with download-to-own, I believe it behoves the point not to diversify your catalogue further.

And like I said... we're soon rolling out a "download to own" option which will allow you to download individual scenes without having a membership.

I hope you will be offering something like PayPal as a payment option. I’m more than aware of the issues many online business have with PainPal, but the fact is, once implement purchases and subscriptions usually improve within the first month. A lot of consumers like it and the illusion of anonymity and security it offers.

EDIT: what is the price projection for download-to-own scenes?

But... we do that. We're known as a site that has the most diverse types and ages... men in their 40s and men in their late teens. Hairy guys, twinks, muscle men, tattooed guys, smooth guys, "nice guys" and "bad boys." We've had all sorts of themes and styles and set ups.

Except Pay Pal refuses to deal with adult companies. So we can't.

Only jerkyourtube was working last night. The other two were down. I jerk like twice a day only to those sites. Now what will I jerk to?! My dick is crying in the corner right now. He's very upset.

Then I'd suggest showcasing them in your preview areas. When I click on those sections and the main page, all I see is the same waxed/shaved muscle-clones I see everywhere. Just my impression.

Everything I have said has been in the spirit of offering positive suggestions or constructive criticism. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t comment.

Hum... I thought I remembered them dealing with Long Media a while back, but I must have been mistaken.

That's from our tour. I think we have a pretty wide variety of guys there.

A bunch of adult companies have tried to get around the rules. The moment they're caught, their accounts and all money is forfeited.

I never buy porn, I never put a credit card number on a site. I don't download full videos from illegal sites either.

I only look at the free stuff on xtube, xnxx, sxx, eveknows and rockettube. I think Sean Cody is cruel for not featuring trailers of their videos like other sites do though.

BTW is the op from Fratpad? I stopped watching that site when Daniel left. Haven't liked any of the guys since.

Jasun, I am one of those potential consumers you’ve yet to entice to join your site.

Instead of explaining to me why I’m wrong, just consider what I’m saying. I visited your site with the intention of getting an impression about the company. Most guys who find you are probably boned up Google searchers that don’t care to stay around past the “members enter here” line. That said, one of the immediate impressions I got was, “another bunch of shaved muscle clones.” Clearly that isn’t all you have to offer, but that isn’t the impression I got.

Read back over some of my comments. Instead of pausing to dismiss them as being ‘wrong’, ask yourself why I would form that impression of your business. Then consider that if I, whom actually bothered to visit your sites for the expressed purpose of reviewing them, formed those opinions, than what might the casual web-browser think?

Peace.

That's a conversation we've already had today, in fact. Because of what yo said. We put out most recent scenes on the splash page but it's clear we might need to show more of our diversity in the secondary pages of the tour.

That said... this thread is really about a lawsuit brought by a few companies against someone who isn't just a casual college student sharing a few files but a company that's selling content without paying the producers.

It couldn't hurt.

That's how I came in to this conversation, but I also wanted to comment on what I view as the ultimate difference between surviving despite piracy and thriving in spite of it. IMO it isn’t about who can launch the most lawsuits, but rather who can attract the consumer base that is currently making the theft-sites profitable. If you can do that, then there won’t be any need for lawsuits in the long run. Or at least, a hell of a lot fewer of them. You can increase your consumers and eviscerate theirs at the same time.

Have a good one.

(I'm still wondering what point he was making by intentionally spelling my name wrong. Any guesses?)

It was clearly intended as a diss against you, but just made him look stupid instead.

I came up with a new idea: instead of an institution that mediates media, a system where the producers of media demand to be donated to in order to start new projects or release completed ones. You set up a page. You say what you want to do: make a video featuring so and so hotties who need to be paid such and such, the maintainence of your video making equipment costs this and that, and you expect to profit some too, like everybody. Then, if the contributions roll in, you know you've found a market. Once you reach the magic number, you release an excellent video, and if people are pleased, they will be all too eager to make sure the next one happens.

It's basically patronage by the masses.

Not that new an idea, though it's an innovation of the past ten years. I first heard about it in the videogame field, where a company announced that it wanted to develop a certain game, but wouldn't start until the customers had committed funds to it. Any money sent in was applicable to the purchase of the end product. That case ended well (the game was built and the prepurchasers were satisfied), but the model has significant and obvious drawbacks.
