Gov. Walker has decided to suspend 1st Amendment

Pretty pitiful really.

Oh yeah, i'm sure the Governor had the site shutdown! It's a conspiracy!

All you had to do was read the article and you would have found your explanation.

DOA's security software automatically blocked the site, as it does all new websites

I did read the article. Your interpretation is one-sided and so predictable. In your estimation, Michael Tate, who disagrees with you has to be lying. Your claims are always so bush (small "b") league.

P.S. Please give Frank L. my best. :luv:

A Democrat accusing Walker? How shocking! But you're accussing the State Department of Administration of being liars.

The state shouldn't be providing free wi-fi to anybody for anything. Shut it off completely.

And the complaint about being undemocratic doesn't ring too true when the democrats are in hiding in effect closing the government. Maybe they should come back to work and register a complaint.

You should have continued reading.

It says the site was working previously, and now isn't.

Hence, it wasn't just a site disallowed by default by security software.

Some kind of update was made either to the software or something which resulted in the site being blocked when it was not before.

That said, it's not really a huge issue imo. Anyone with internet on their phone could still have accessed any website they wanted at the capitol.

I appreciate how your thread title doesn't blow things out of proportion at all.

what aspect of the first amendment entitles you to wifi access again?

They think their entitled to quite a bit, this bunch...|

This unexperienced Freshmen Republican is acting thuggish, stubborn and intolerant. He's doing the job the Koch brothers are paying him for.

This will lead towards his impeachment and possibly imprisonment.

A short while ago, Scott Walker fired all the Milwaukee County Courthouse security guards because they were unionized, and hired non-union security guards who's supervisor had a criminal record. He didn't save the money as he claimed, and a judge ruled what he did was illegal and all the fired union security guards were rehired. This will cost Milwaukee County even more money.

Scott Walker is a failure as a governor already!

You're right. The Founding Fathers did not mention anything about Wi-Fi in the U.S. Constitution.

Please re-read. Michael Tate is not in the State Department of Administration. Or, you are reading a different article other than the one I posted.

What is accussing? An accusation using bad words?

using the wifi in the state house (specifically as a guest account) likely falls under the heading of a privilege, not a right. it's not as if they're trying to shut the website down for being critical of the government.

the other week, I wasn't able to access JUB on my phone at my doctor's office (using the hospital's wifi, not my wireless network). I wouldn't consider that an infringement on my first amendment rights.

Let them tell it to the judge. You know, due process.

Walker is a thug. Worldwide this is an anti-thug era. Too bad he didn't go into teaching instead of politics. Oh, that's right. One needs a degree to teach.

the guy is doing the same thing they are trying in the middle east.

He is trying to block their ability to organize on the internet. The site he blocked is the one that the protesters use to communicate through.

They will get around it, so they are not the ones with an issue.

The person with the issue is the Gov that thinks he can do this and not have repercussions. This is going to be HATED by the young voters of america and believe me, the internet generation is going to harp on this. It is the stuff that urban legends are made of.

This governor is heading for a recall vote. Can they do that there?

If you were talking about the internet in general, you might have a point. But we're talking about the WiFi for the WI statehouse, which was never meant to be used for this purpose. This is no different than an employer blocking facebook or anything else that is a) eating up bandwidth, or b) distracting from the ability of people to work. There is nothing insidious or wrong about it.

The first amendment argument is nonsense, and the controversy is just being ginned up as one more reason to criticize Walker.
