ITC,

I hope all this romance and love is something that you have in your life or at least will find. Whom ever it is or will be, will have the catch of a lifetime. Your train of thoughts certainly run in the right direction. I get a lump in my throat every time either Cam or Josh question their love for each other. I'm a romantic at heart. Obviously!

This is the most amazing story I've ever read here. Simply AMAZING!

and the award for the New York Times Best Seller 2009 goes to...

I deeply and sincerely apologize for the delays guys. I fell behind on my work this week and am trying to catch up. Cameron and Josh will not end here, I promise!

Okay so after I posted my little apology I really got into writing again. This one switches between all 4 perspectives, hope I don't confuse anyone here. If you have any specific feedback, or things you would like to see in the story, please don't hesitate to send me a Private Message. Thank you all for being such loyal readers.

“I can’t believe you just said that!” Mark said jumping out of bed.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, looking extremely confused.
“You can’t say that to me!” he yelled, “Not after everything that’s been going on!”
“What? I can’t tell you that I love-”
“No!” he yelled.
“Why not?” I asked.
“Because…because it’s too soon, Brooke! We’ve only been together for a month!” he said.
“Mark calm down. Why is this such a big deal?” I asked.

He was silent. I guess he didn’t know how to answer that question. His forehead crinkled as he fell deep into thought. After a few moments he broke the silence between us, not looking at me.

“I don’t know how to be loved by someone,” he said as he slumped back down onto the bed.
“You don’t have to,” I said. I pulled him into my arms and embraced him, “You just need to love me back when you’re ready to.”

-------------------------

Ever since I lost my job at Best Buy, things have been really rough for Josh and I. There was a huge wave of layoffs and I was expendable in their eyes. I picked up a job at the café across the street for some extra money, but it was just barely enough. We hadn’t talked much about the engagement, but I knew why. There was only one thing on his mind at this point, and that was telling his parents.

We were about three months away from going back home for the summer. I could tell the deadline was looming over Josh’s head. Some nights he would seem so far away in his mind. Some evenings at dinner, I could stare into his eyes and see nothing but anguish. I didn’t know what to say to him, but I knew there was nothing that could rescue him from facing his parents.

One night, he had his arms wrapped around me in bed. I was drifting off to sleep resting my head on his chest when all of a sudden, his heart started racing. It thumped against my ear and completely woke me up. I sat up and look in his direction.

“What’s wrong bud?” I asked.
“Nothing,” he said.
“Babe, I heard your heart. What’s going on?” I asked.
“Well…There is something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” he said.
“What?” I asked.
“I got a phone call from my Writing professor last week,” he said.
“And?” I asked.
“We were assigned a short story assignment for our midterm, and…” he said, trailing off.
“What Josh? Spit it out,” I said.
“She wants to get it published,” he said.
“What?! Oh my God Josh, that’s incredible!” I yelled hugging him.
He pushed me back and put his hands back on my shoulders.
“I would have to go to New York City,” he said.

-------------------------

“New York City?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said, “After the semester is over.”
“How long would he be gone?” I asked.
“I don’t know. That’s what scares me. I have no idea what would be going on,” he said.
“But you guys would still talk to each other, right?” I said, sipping at my coffee.
“Yeah, but it’s not the same,” he said.
“Cam, I don’t get why you can’t just go with him. You guys are so in love it even makes me a little sick,” I said.
“You’re sweet Mark, but it just doesn’t work like that,” he said. He picked up his cup and just looked inside of it.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because he needs to build up an image first, create a persona that people will respect. He needs to make people want to read his story, then he can reveal the truths. The people that like the story will read again despite the fact that he’s about to do something that’s against the law in most of the country,” he said.
“I guess I see your point. I just don’t get how you can’t just be his support system. Who wouldn’t want their best friend standing next to them when their dreams come true?” I asked.
“I can’t go because we can’t lie to people. Pretending to be someone that I’m not, that’s not the person I was raised to be. I look back at all the times Josh and I weren’t honest with each other about our feelings, and all the time we wasted lying to each other, and I feel sick. Pretending to be someone else made me miss out on being with Josh sooner,” he said.
“But if you don’t go with him, you’re going to miss out on being there, at his side, when all his dreams come true,” I said.
“And if I’m there, at his side, his dreams might not come true,” he said, “Either way one of us loses. I’m willing to sacrifice my needs for his dreams.”
“That seems pretty noble, but why should you have to do that?” I asked.
“I don’t have to, I want to,” he said, “Isn’t there anyone you would sacrifice your happiness for?”
“No. She won’t let me,” I said.

-------------------------

“He won’t let me,” I said.
“Why not?” Brooke asked.
“The same reason he moved here, because he didn’t want me to sacrifice my dreams for his happiness,” I said, “He won’t let me not go.”
“That’s so sweet,” Brooke said. I stared at her sarcastically.
“Well it is!” she said.
“Brooke, seriously, I don’t know what to do here,” I said, “He won’t let me stay, but I don’t want to go without him.”
“So talk him into going with you,” she said.
“I wish that were possible,” I said.
She looked at me, confused.
“I spoke with my professor, and she believes that it would be best to keep my ‘unholy’ relationship under my hat until the book is on the shelves,” I said.
“That’s so fucked up,” she said.
“Yeah I know,” I said, “What am I gonna do Brooke?”
“You’re gonna talk to Cameron again,” she said, “And this time you won’t lose the argument.”

Moments of Truth hang over us like The Sword of Damocles. Funny thing is, they aren't usually as life changing as all of that, even when they seem to be at one end.

That's because, we don't change, fundamentally. Our life circumstances can change - dramatically - by forces beyond our control - like losing a job at Best Buy.

But, after the initial implosion and panic, life goes on. We are still who we were. Most of our important relationships are still intact, if not stronger from the testing.

Good luck to the boys. oing to NYC to promote the publishing of his story is a huge step. I hope there's a way they can do both - stay together and actively promote his work.

They don't have to be flamboyant, but that doesn't mean they're not being true to each other and who they are, either.

Good luck, guys. You've loved each other for a very long time. Here's hoping for you.

Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to your continued efforts.

Go Brooke! You tell em'. Nice story man. You'll probably notice I've been bumping a lot of stories in the past 5 minutes. It's because I've just now got to where I can post but have been reading the best ones for a while. This is one of the best.

Okay so after I posted my little apology I really got into writing again. This one switches between all 4 perspectives, hope I don't confuse anyone here.

I am glad you warned us about the switching...lol Actually, it make an interesting twist and it certainly kept me on my toes.

What a turn of events. Like D.Q., I hope the boys find a way to bend the rules just a bit. The desire for Josh's happiness and dreams can be seen in another light. If Josh wants Cam to accompany him to NY, in my opinion, that is a large part of the dream. He will need Cam all the more for support. Hopefully Cam will find the ability to accept this. Only time will tell...

Hey boys, I am SOOOOOOOOOO sorry about the long absence. Life started picking up really heavily here. But that's all boring shop talk. Anyway, here's a short little chapter, gonna get into some of the heat in the next couple of chapters (I know you guys missed it even though you wouldn't admit it *wink*)

Here you go!

---------------------------------------------------

The sun came through the clouds on the first day of spring. There was a light breeze in the air, and the wildflowers were blooming along the side of the road. My favorite time of year was when I could pick my favorite wildflower. The Baby Blue Eye’s flower was as bright blue around the edges as Alexis’ eyes were. Every time I saw one I was reminded of my sister. It didn’t give me a sad feeling, but more of a humble feeling. I felt like it meant she was watching over me.

I had just finished telling my writing professor that I wasn’t going to New York. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It was telling Cameron that was going to be difficult. I walked along the side of the road, picking every Baby Blue Eye that I saw. Brooke was walking with me and was trying to support me as we walked back to the apartment. She had her hair let down as the breeze picked it up and pushed it behind her.

“Josh, remember that no matter what happens, and no matter what he says, he still loves you with all of his heart,” she said, “And so do I, best friend.” She wrapped her arm around my shoulders as we walked after she said that.
“Thanks Brooke. I just really don’t know what I’m going to say to him,” I said.
“Just tell him that you couldn’t follow your dreams when your heart was staying here with him,” she said.
“Yeah, I’m sure he’ll appreciate that. I just hope he’s not mad.”
“Even if he is, he won’t stay mad for long.”

It wasn’t long before we were walking up to the apartment complex. Brooke saw Mark standing at the counter in the café and went to join him as I went by myself up the stairs. I opened the door to see Cameron sitting on the couch watching his favorite childhood movie, The Sandlot.

“Watching that again?” I said with a sarcastic tone.
“Shut up, it was on TV,” he said.
“Mmhmm, is that why the DVD player is running?” I asked while softly backhanding his shoulder as I sat down.
“Whatever asshole,” he said, returning my backhand to the shoulder.

I leaned over and kissed him on the forehead and grabbed the remote from the armrest and hit the Pause button.

“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Cam, I need to talk to you about something,” I said.
“What is it?” he asked, looking worried.
“I’m not going to New York,” I said.
“Not this again. Josh, seriously, you have to go,” he said looking sternly into my eyes.
“No I’m serious, I’m not going,” I said.
“We’ve been over this a thousand times. You can’t not go, okay? You can’t just let this opportunity slip by,” he said.
“Cam…” I said.
“I don’t want to hear it Josh. We’ve had this same argument too many times, and I’m not changing my decision. I don’t want you to go, but you have to go. Not just for you, and not just for your dreams, but for me too. It means so much to me that you have everything that you want,” he said.
“Cameron! Enough okay? It’s too late. I already told my professor to decline the offer,” I said.
“You did what?!” he yelled as he stood up, “How could you do that?!”
I stood up and put both hands on his shoulders. “I did it because I have everything I want right here. I can’t follow my dreams when my heart is staying here with you. You are much more important to me than some stupid book offer.”
‘Josh…”
“No, we’re not arguing anymore.” I turned away from him. I really didn’t want to argue with him. Each time we argued for the past month, it tore me up inside. “What’s done is done. I can’t change it now. You’re stuck with me Cam.”

I heard him shift on his feet. He turned around, walked into the bedroom, and closed the door. He didn’t slam it, so he obviously wasn’t angry. I guess he was just defeated and he knew he couldn’t fight me anymore. I felt tears form in my eyes as I replayed myself yelling at him and him yelling at me in my mind. I plopped down onto the couch and covered my eyes with the palms of my hands as I tilted my head towards the ceiling.

I heard the bedroom door open again, but didn’t move, even after I felt the couch move next to me and the pressure against my shoulder. Cameron grabbed my hand off of my face and pulled it down to my side and just held my hand there. I let the other one fall as I looked down at our hands. I didn’t want to look at his face for fear that it would be stern or sad, until I noticed he was sitting there in only his boxer briefs.

“Did I ever tell you how much I like it when you take control?” he asked.

I looked up at him to see him smiling at me. That gorgeous smile that had the ability to rend me powerless, the one I’ve missed for the past few weeks was spread across his face.

He got up and sat on my lap facing me and wrapping his arms around my neck as he pulled me into a deep, forceful kiss. He broke the kiss only to life my shirt off. Afterwards he looked into my eyes and said, “You’re everything I’ve wanted too Josh,” and pulled me back into the kiss. My heart slammed in my chest. I pulled his body into me as I stood up. He wrapped his legs around my waist as I carried him into the bedroom and closed the door behind us.

It seems that all is going to work out for Josh and Cam and I am so happy for them. Looking forward to the continuation

Hooray for makeup sex!

ITC, I just want to thank you for your wonderful story. It's your story that finally made me register, after about 2 years of lurking. During the last couple years I've read most of the stories posted on here and yours is by far my favorite. It's fantastic. I'm a romantic sap, so reading about Josh and Cameron has been very enjoyable. They're beautiful together. Thanks again for your story and I eagerly await your future updates.

ITC, I have to agree with littletosay. This chapter has your well known touch of romance. In reading it, I could literally see myself walking down the road picking the wild flowers. Then, feeling the apprehension in having to tell Cam about NY. I am so glad to see you updating the wonderful story.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments. You guys sure know how to keep a guy writing :)
I want to take a moment and thank you all for reading my story and for all the great things you guys have said. If there is anything you would like to see happen between Cameron and Josh, then please let me know and I will see what I can do. Thank you once again for being such loyal readers.

Here is my next update as well. Hope you all like it!

----------------------------------------

As the door closed, Cameron climbed off of me and walked backwards towards the bed, pulling me by my belt. He fell back onto the bed and pulled me on top of him. We laughed as I collapsed on top of him and resumed out kissing. He grabbed my ass as I kissed him more forcefully. I sat up and undid my belt. Cameron pulled it off and threw it across the room.

He rolled me over so I was on my back and opened my jeans. He pulled them off by the bottom and tossed them behind him. He gave me a sexy little smirk and leaned into me to kiss me some more. It was very hot in the room and we were both already sweating from the heat of the moment. Little beads of sweat formed on Cameron’s torso so I leaned in to lick his chest. As gross as it sounds, these sweat drops had his very essence locked in them. It tasted like heaven to me.

By now, both of our cocks were rock hard. I pushed Cameron back onto his back and moved myself on top of him. I moved down to his boxer briefs and started kissing at the tip of his cock through the fabric. He gasped at each one and leaned onto his elbows to get a better look of me. I pulled the waistline of his underwear down and grasped his cock in my left hand while moving my mouth down to his balls. I licked at his balls while slowly jerking his cock and listening to his moans.

He gasped my name as I moved my mouth to the base of his cock and started licking upward towards his head. His body trembled as I moved my hand to his stomach and stuffed his cock into my mouth. I moved up and down slowly to savor the taste of him. After a few minutes he couldn’t take anymore and grabbed my hair to push both my face and his cock closer together as he came in my mouth. I swallowed every drop and gave him a smile when I was done.

He flopped onto his back and started gasping for air. I moved up to kiss him some more and to allow him to rest for a moment.

“Damn baby…I forgot how good you were,” he said.
“It’s only been a few weeks,” I said with a chuckle.
“Yeah but… we’ve been fighting so… I missed it even more,” he said between gasps.
“Well I’ll give you a rest before I keep going,” I said sarcastically.
“No, no, I’m ready Josh. Keep going,” he said pleadingly.
“Well I don’t know, you seem kinda tired,” I said.
“Don’t be mean!” he said, “Come on don’t make me beg.”
“Oh alright,” I said, “But only because I feel guilty when you beg.”

I sat back up and he moved up to the pillows. He rested his head on a pillow as I took off my boxers. My cock flopped out, still hard. I leaned into Cameron and pushed his legs up a bit to expose his hole. I moved my cock towards his hole and taunted him a bit more.

“Do me baby,” he whispered.

That did it. My lust took control of me and I shoved my cock into his ass. He gasped, a little in surprise and a lot in pleasure. With my arms holding me up, I thrust into him trying to get deeper and deeper into him. He put his hands on the back of my head and pulled me into another kiss and moaned into my mouth. This caused me to moan back into his mouth and together, at the same time our cocks exploded. His cum splattered all over his stomach and mine filled his ass.

Our breathing was in sync and our sweat was overwhelming both of our bodies. There was a Cameron shaped puddle of sweat where he was laying on the bed. When he sat up and saw we both started laughing. He grabbed my hand as he got up from the bed and led me to the bathroom. He started the shower and sat me down on the toilet (with the seat down). When he was finished setting the temperature of the water he walked over and sat sideways on my lap. He wrapped his arms around me and I wrapped mine around him as we sat there waiting for the water to warm up a bit.

“I love you Josh,” he said.
“I love you more,” I said.

We got into the shower together and slowly washed each other’s bodies. When we were done we just stood there for a moment as I held him in my arms and kissed his forehead. This moment was perfect. This was the first time in months I had felt right where I belonged. I held Cameron tighter as I remembered our engagement.

“Do you still want to get married?” I asked.
“No,” he said.
I looked at him in surprised.
“I don’t want to get married, but I want to marry you,” he said.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“More than anything in this world,” he said.
“I love you,” I told him again.
“Forever and always babe,” he said.

Just as we reluctantly put on fresh clothes, there was a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole and saw Brooke and Mark on the other side. I opened it and they had two big brown paper bags in their hands.

“Dinner’s on us boys!” Brooke exclaimed.
“Hope you guys don’t mind,” Mark said.
“No of course not,” Cameron said.
“Yeah, come on in,” I said.

I smiled at Brooke to appease her questioning eyes to let her know everything was ok and she smiled back at me. Brooke and Mark outdid themselves with this spread. There were all kinds of different dishes. Homemade Clam Chowder with some spaghetti from the Italian restaurant down the street, with rolls from the bakery on campus and some steamed vegetables from the market in town. It was the closest I’ve come to having my mother’s cooking since we left. Suddenly, I was homesick.

It had been so long since I had even thought about home. Everything I wanted was right here, but my home was calling out to me out of nowhere. I glanced over at the stack of flowers I left on the counter earlier this afternoon and noticed that they still looked fresh picked, even though they had been out of the ground for almost 6 hours. I decided to quickly put them in some water. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water and as I let the flowers fall in, I could almost see Alexis’ face in them. I guess I was staring at them for a few minutes because Cameron came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.

“You ok?” he asked.
“Yeah…fine,” I said.
“But?” he asked.
“Nothing, I just kinda miss home is all,” I said.
“Well your finals are in a couple weeks right?” he asked, “We’ll go back for a few weeks in the summer if you want.”
“I’d really like that,” I said as I turned around to give him a kiss on the forehead.

Brooke and Mark left not too long after that. We were watching 50 First Dates when Mark started falling asleep, so they went home. Cameron and I stayed on the couch and fell asleep in each others arms. As far back as I can remember, this was the most peaceful sleep I had ever experienced. No dreams to interrupt my slumber and nothing unpleasant to ruin the moment.

I woke to Cameron brushing the hair out of my face and he looked into my eyes.

“How’d you sleep?” he asked.
“Perfectly,” I said, “You?”
“Like a baby,” he said.

Cameron looked over at the clock and saw the time.

“Shit! I’m gonna be late for my shift!” he yelled. He scrambled to his feet and took off to the bathroom.
“Holy hell,” I said, “I almost forgot the world was out there.”
“Yeah and it’s gonna be pissed if you’re late for that test too,” I heard come from the bathroom.
Shit! I thought. I got to my feet and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I gazed into the bathroom and took in Cameron’s perfection once more before heading off to class.

“Have a good day,” Cam said from the bathroom as I was walking towards the door.
“You too,” I said to him.
I’ll have a great day today. I thought.
