Grand Theft Auto IV

I was wishing I hadnt bought PSP a couple of months back.

But its hard to justify spending 300+ on an Xbox and GTA 4

I bought it on midnight Monday. The game is great! I've never played a GTA before but I gave in to the hype and it was worth it. I'm running it on a 360 and don't have a single complaint other than its stealing my studying time!

Oh my Qixote, that is quite ridiculous. Last thing I ordered from Amazon actually came a day early but I think that was with UPS so yeah...
it turns out I got it today, even though the estimated date was May 5. The shipping tracking shows that it is still in transit. So DHL is really still unreliable. Anyway, I'm about to become sucked into Liberty City.

silversmith1213,
I hope you get the other GTA games.
They are all good. San Andreas is the best of the other GTA games.

I prefer 3 and Vice City actually

Vice City's cool(LOVE me some Tommy Vercetti) but for some reason it depresses the fuck outta me. i love the soundtrack on there though.

I like San Andreas because after the missions are done, it is so big and so many things you can do.

They should have made an option where you can teleport to another area because it does cover such a large area

GTA4
- is there anywhere you can watch videos of the gameplay?

I saw video of the ambulance and it looked top heavy still

Videos are all over youtube, even though they keep getting taken down. Also you can go to justin.tv and go to the gaming section. several people stream live gameplay of the game everyday.

Thank you Monkey
I had a quick look last night

I broke down (because I should really save the money) and bought Xbox 360 premium for $256 on Ebay. It even comes with 2 games (Madden 06 and Condemned: Criminal Origins)

I dont know how to play football but I can at least watch their butts ;-)

The game is getting 10's. How can I pass that up? I cant ;-)

Glad you decided to join us. Hopefully your new 360 wont RROD on you anytime soon. Of course if it does, you pay 99 bucks to get it fix and your warranty increases from 1 year to 3.

I'm with you on the football, although ironically enough I signed up for that to be one of my classes in the fall. Give you one guess why.

Too bad I didn't get my GTA on 360 or we could have it out on Live one day.

I almost made a comment about MADD but thought it would be in poor taste

MADD Outraged By GTAIV's Drunk Driving
By Earnest Cavalli May 01, 2008 |

MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) has petitioned the ESRB to reclassify Grand Theft Auto IV as an 'Adults Only' title in reaction to the game's inclusion of players driving while intoxicated.

Additionally, the non-profit organization has urged GTAIV publisher Take-Two Interactive to end distribution of the game "out of respect for the millions of victims/survivors of drunk driving."

MADD's objection to the game stems from a gameplay mechanism that allows players to virtually imbibe alcohol before getting behind the wheel. This both blurs the screen as well as complicates the driving controls -- an accessible if not entirely accurate depiction of drunk driving in reality.

"Drunk driving is not a game, and it is not a joke," MADD said. "Drunk driving is a choice, a violent crime and it is also 100 percent preventable."

Did they stop to think that the player could instead of driving, walk home or take a cab? Just like in real life!!

It's an amazing game. You can tell the developers spent a lot of time on making it.

It's SO much more realistic than the older GTA games. Everything moves so realistically and the physics of the game are beautiful. For example, hitting someone with a car makes it like a "crash dummy" effect similar to Saints Row for XBOX360. The police are also smarter are harder to get away from.

I haven't played it much but I couldn't even get past the first mission because it was too tempting to just go explore the map and cause chaos. :)
