Technically it's not using the old ragdoll technology that many games have been using for years. It's using the Euphoria physics engine which renders physical movements more realistically.
 
Hm. Have yet yo do a mission but I finally got to play it just a couple hours ago. Seems WAY too dark at night. Can't see shit. Had to turn the game off and hope it was daytime when I turned it back on. Course, this could just be my bad eyes. I'm blind as a bat without my contacts.

Also hate the driving. It's supposed to be more realistic and certainly is but I still hate it.

Last nitpick, and this could be just the PS3 version and/or my tv but I notice too many jagged lines and dull textures. I can't recall seeing that in the demo videos and live gameplay I watched.

Seems like I hate the game but it's GTA. All that could be wrong with and a crap load more and I'd still play it.

Shame on CNN for doing one-sided coverage against this game. Whatever happened to fair coverage to allow viewers decide for themselves by hearing both sides of the story? 3 guys all speaking against this game as if it was the root of all evil. In the meantime, real evil continues to exist Iraq, third-world countries, our own corrupt society, etc. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the private space of these men and witness all the first amendment liberties they enjoy in other forms.

Note to Glenn Beck: Rockstar thanks you for helping boost their sales by airing this.
 
Just bought the GTA4 on Ebay for $56 US.

So I have spent $360 to buy xbox 360 and GTA4

Now I have to send out the money orders and wait.

Target delivery date. Lets say May 21st
 
I must admit, I'm really surprised they put sex into this game after the big Hot Coffee scandal in San Andreus. The sex isn't graphic (no nudity), but they do show your character having sex in the cars with the prostitute with three "levels of service". Unlike previous games where you couldn't see anything except the car shake, this time you actually see your character get a handjob, a blowjob, or fucking. Again, no nudity is shown, you do all this with your clothes on.

It's funny to watch. I'm sure the conservatives are really going to explode about this one.

I've got the game last monday, and I just love it. If you ever played GTA3, you feel at home at once in GTA4.The city's got exactly the same atmosphere, just everything has improved.

In the beginning I had problems with the car-steering using the RT-xbox360-button. Was taken out of the curves EVERY SINGLE TIME, but by now I'm quite good...

Niko is a great character. Although he's the ultimate tough and bad guy(the end of the Vlad-missions...), he still seems to have reasons for having become so bad, and it's no blind anger, but you can sometimes even choose whether to end a mission by killing someone or not. For Example, I didn't kick the guy off the construction crane. Instead, I saved him. That might pay off later in the game (at least I hope so.)

I think they dealt with that perfectly. You go to the map and mark a 'way point'. Get in a cab and he will go right there to the way point


Does it still have planes you can fly, or just the helicopter?

Although I'm not that far yet, I've read it somewhere that you'll only be able to fly helicopters in GTA4. Because the City is not big enough for a plane trip.

But, seriously, the plane trips in San Andreas weren't all too good (except for flight school and the trips with the small planes maybe...).

So I think it's a good decision to concentrate on the stuff that proved to be great and drop the not-so-good.

The whole gilfriend-thing improved. too. In San Andreas, it was a pest!!!

they were right about one thing though it should be AO in America and R18 here
the problem in australia is we dont have R18 in australia for games and it's wrong the highest we have is ma15+ which means that this game can be sold to kids over 15 and most adults would get it for there kids cause its only 15+ it cant be that bad
 
I've been playing for a week now. This stuff is digital crack. I'm going to need therapy soon.
 
I have played video games since I was a wee lad...and I bought GTA4 two days ago and I am returning it tomorrow. It is the first, and so far the only, game that causes me motion sickness to the point I need to turn it off. After playing it for 2 minutes I had a gut feeling this game was gunna end up bad...and about after an hour playing, the uneasiness in my stomach was to the point I needed to turn it off. I threw up soon after.

My brother has GTA4 for his PS3, I went up to see his and he was playing and I was ok. I started to play his and got the same uneasy feeling.

I guess I can watch it but not play it, which sucks.

Oddly enough all the first pointer shooters that have crazy action, prolly 10x more than GTA dont affect me a lick.

Just keep doing the missions, If I remember right should be able to get to the 2nd island around 20% maybe a little bit before it.

I sent out the money order on May 3rd (to Toronto , from Vancouver) and they still havent gotten the money order.
They had 100% feedback so its not that . . .
its just my dumb 'luck' hhmph!!!
