Graphic Video: Full Saddam Execution Captured With Cellphone

this man was an animal and yea it should have been taped how many time ahve we had to see what horrible things he did. he deserved acually more than a hanging i think

You must feel guilty, Johnny.... I did not impose my morality on you. Why did you think that I did!?!

Listen I dont feel the need to defend myself(maybe I feel guilty??) but I will anyway. I am the kindest person you will ever meet, with the biggest heart. I admit...I have an odd fascination with stuff like this...not in a way where I take pleasure in it..but maybe I watch them to remind me of how great life can be with a lot more kindness and good human beings.

I mean I dont know exactly the psychology behind it..maybe Im interested in seeing what happens to the human body in videos like this(I mean it could have been anyone that was hung and I would have wanted to maybe see it, it wasnt he fact that it was Saddam)....or maybe its like when you go see a horror movie with tons of gore and stuff...and you come out of it happy knowing that you didnt go through that and that life isnt that bad....I dont know... I do know that Im not a sicko...I dont like death...I dont like seeing people hurt or killed...no matter who it is. Vegas

but I know that you can't "unsee" things.

This is exactly how I feel. There is enough horror in the world without intentionally watching it.

I don't think the countdown to a new year gets as much minute detail as was given the countdown to Hussein's death.

It is scary to me that people want to subject themselves to such unpleasantness.

I saw the video too, and it was not all that graphic - I have seen worse. I have clearly laid out my opinion on the death penalty in my blog so I won't reiterate it here. Saddam Hussein was a monster and he was responsible for taking many innocent lives. What they should have done is thrown him into a pit for tigers to tear apart. A hanging was too painless. I am just glad this execution was done swiftly after conviction. And that is all I have to say on the matter.

Well, now that Saddam is done. Who's next? I know someone in this country that would fit the role of a tyrannical leader and is responsible for thousands dying innocently.

Yeah but how can you take her out mid-season??...I mean shes adding monster ratings to the View this season.....wait...we ARE talking Rosie right?

You must feel guilty, Johnny.... I did not impose my morality on you. Why did you think that I did!?!

Well - you did not, but you seem to want to:

Are the inmates running the asylum here!?! Let's get a firm grip on spiritually, love and peace. Hating and killing has never and will never solve anything.

Who'se grip? Who'se spirituality? Who'se definition of love? Who'se definition of peace?

Anyhow - I think there are those who will not agree with your perspective on history. The Nuremberg trials come to my mind. Those death sentances where justified a million times over. Hangings and firing squads are humane when comapred to gassings and mass graves.

What gives you the right to impose your morality on me?

I do not insist that you click a link to see a dead man swinging - but I would like to reserve the right to access such information from a message board that I visit daily. :)

I think Johnny hit the nail on the head, here. The Admins (the people who actually own JUB) made the call earlier today that NONE of the footage, nor the pics, would be placed on JUB servers.

You may link to off-site sources, provided that you provide an adequate disclaimer of what the person will find at the end of the link.

In this case, a proper disclaimer was made (see thread title), and there was absolutely no doubt as to what was on the other side of the link.

We have had instances of this previously in CE&P. War is not a pretty site, guys. Last summer at the height of the Israel-Lebanon War we had a poster who lives in Lebanon post a link to graphic images of Lebanese casualties. Said poster provided an adequate disclaimer, so that anyone who who clicked the link would know what was on the other side.

Free speech is a protected right at JUB, provided that it doesn't violate forum rules or the Code of Conduct. Some posts are going to piss you off, folks. As was mentioned earlier, this is the internet. No one is forcing you to click the link.

This thread probably would have been better suited had it been placed in CE&P. However, Hot Topics contains a wide range of threads on any number of subjects.

Just to be clear, it is not the Admins job, nor the Moderators job, to ensure that nobody gets their feelings hurt here. I often read things that I don't like here. We're not here to insulate anyone from all things bad. We will ensure that the pics and video of the execution will not be in any thread here. However, if someone wants to click a link to see it then it is their perogative.

I hope this helps.

It was labeled.

Those who choose to watch may do so,
those who choose not to watch may do that.

The footage is less graphic, far less graphic, than most things we see on tv or movies.

This happens to be real.

Reality is simply that, and I don't believe in avoiding reality.

I've been a witness to death. And plenty of it. More than I care to admit. I've watched good friends of mine die and my mother as well.

I'm just saying that although I don't mind discussing subjects such as these, I don't particularly want to watch it actually happen.

That's my choice. Just as it's your choice to watch it.

Again, I'm not judging anyone here by their opinions or their choice to watch the video. I happen to CARE about everybody's opinion, which is why I'm in this thread in the first place. And I perfectly understand morbid curiosity. But it doesn't make me a judgmental asshole because I choose to avoid the graphics.

(not saying you or anyone else is calling me that, I'm just saying...)

To me, this sounds judgemental.

I refuse to watch the fucking shit and I can't believe all this crap is turning up here...This is the holiday season, for fuck's sake. Aren't we supposed to be celebrating life instead of reveling in death?

Sorry man, but that's my opinion.

Sorry, just my opinion.

Hey, all. Admin and Moderators have discussed this in advance and decided that, while we certainly don't want this type of video/photos posted on JUB servers, any thread with appropriate warning (as was given in this thread) and a link only to an outside source, this is too much "news" to restrict from JUB. We certainly respect the wishes of those of you who do not wish to view the photos or videos, but we also respect the wishes of those who do. Thanks!
Hey everyone, look who wrote this posting - our own springboksfan - three cheers - cheers, cheers, cheers.

p.s. content of the posting is excellent as usual - "He's back." The Exorcist

I have never experienced Christopher as judgmental.

I never said he was. What I did say is that indicating disgust at the video showing up here especially at this time of year could be taken as being judgemental. I specifically quoted those words.

Unfortunately, your misunderstanding of what I wrote is one of the things that leads to so much fighting on here.

Hey, eM! Thanks for the welcome back! I should be here much more often in the coming weeks. Pretty soon you'll all be tired of me again! :D

thanks, Snaps and Spring...

As I have often been the biggest critic of posting these types of images i wanted to thank you for personally taking the time to discuss the aspects of what freedom of expression is REALLy all about not only at JUB, but also in the american information age. As JUB becomes more relevant in the international gay community, it needs to uphold certain standards that may not always be comfortable, but are ethical.

speaking to the events of the video

someone mentioned that he spoke as he died...

this will be discussed in the coming weeks i'm sure. it is very rellevant to the future of iraq and the safety of american soldiers over there.

the guards shouted long live Muktadr al Sadr just before he dropped. Saddam began to answer as the trap door swung open. His last word was Muktadr.

the rellevance of this is chilling. Muktadr al Sadr is the grand Ayatollah of the shiites of Iraq. He is the arch enemy of the Baathists/Sunnis, which Saddam was the leader of. it would seem Saddams last thought and word went to the man that represents the people he hunted, murdered and oppressed for 30 years.

muktadr is in allegiance with the ruling council of iran.

Saddam Hussein built Saddam city in Bagdad, an area now known to house violent terrorists and insurgents. when the US led Coalition invaded Iraq they changed the name of Saddam City to Sadr City.

It is the heart of the unfolding Civil war in iraq.

Saddams last word will most likely push that nation over the edge and fuel an all out confrontation between the Sunnis and the Shiia.

the events of the video are not just a graphic depiction of a mans execution. they are extremely rellevant to the future of the war.

That's not at all what I meant. And again, I apologize if it came off that way.

This was the first video of a guy who was really hung that I didn't get turned on by.
