I can't think of show killers without thinking of Anson Mount and Eric Balfour (coicidentally the two of them even stared together in a show that was soon after cancel)

But I don't think Taye Diggs would harm the success of the show any, in fact it might help. The only reason Daybreak tanked was because it was so overhyped people turned away before the first episode. That and it just wasn't very good. But not because of Taye. I loves me some Taye :)

You have to wonder if rumors like this aren't generated just to hype the new show. The only possible cast members to spin off into another series would be Walsh's or Eric Dane's, and Walsh's has been popular enough that she was incorporated into the show when she had initially been slated for a couple of episodes as a guest star. As it stands, with Meredith and Derek together, Addison has effectively lost any link to the rest of the cast. Any of the rest, if spun off, would have to elaborately break ties with the core cast. Addison doesn't have that problem.

Taye Diggs is actually bad NEWS for Kate Walsh that guy can't do anything right lately. Kevin Hill got cancelled and that was on a smaller network. Daybreak bombed because he's not that good an actor and he's corny. And now he's going to give Kate Walsh bad luck.

The cast of Grey's Anatomy are just a bunch of crybabies. Katheriine Heigl is NOT the star nor one of the big stars of the show. The top 4 actors are Pompeo, Dempsey, Oh, and Washington. Obviously they deserve MORE MONEY because their characters are integeral to the plot. Katherine is a small minor player like TR Knight. I think Grey's cast is too big. The show would surivive WITHOUT Katherine. She has signed a lengthy contract with ABC Touchstone so she better get her ass in gear and back to work. But this is showbiz and these actors have EGOS. Major EGOS. They all want the big money. And big paycheques.

One of the reason Daybreak got cancelled is because ABC just would not support the show. Another reason is American society and their mentality about African Americans. Americans are just not used to seeing blacks headline TV shows on major networks. The story of the show was also lame as well. And tired. ABC just basically wasted Diggs time. I am surprised Diggs would want to be on another ABC show after the way they treated him with Daybreak in such a negative manner.

But another problem for Diggs was casting. I mean Diggs as everyone knows is married to a white woman. The complaint of black women isn't that Diggs is married to a white woman in real life. Its the fact that Diggs consistently doesn't allow a black woman to be a love interest in his movies or TV shows. Why would black people support that? Why would they bother to watch? Diggs has been rejected by black women because they understand he's really not into them. Now that's his personal choice. But what pisses black women off is that in his job, in his job as an actor he shuns them as well as his love interests lately. And because of that he's been called out by black Women. Diggs is allowing non black women to get acting jobs while black women don't get the role. And yes because African American women don't usually get big roles in Hollywood and please don't use Dreamgirls I am talking in general. Some black women I have spoken to RESENT Diggs for that.

And for Diggs to have a white woman as his wife on Daybreak, I mean that's a deathwish. For one thing White America didn't tune in. White heterosexual men DO NOT want to see a black man romancing a white woman on TV. One episode of Daybreak Diggs had sex with his white wife and that episode had real low ratings.Say what you will but Americans have a problem with black men/White woman romance. Look at Grey's Anatomy the central love story is that between two whites. There is no way White America would watch Greys Anatomy if Ellen Pompeo's love interest was a black man. White America can't handle that.

If Kate Walsh is doing a show with Diggs they better not make him her love interest because I don't think white heterosexual Americans will accept that.

Taye Diggs does not have the support of his biggest market that used to be black women. Diggs has said some controversial negative comments about black women. And the minute black women found out about him he was ignored by them and his career has fallen off. Same thing with Wesley Snipes. Black male actors such as Will Smith and Denzel Washington know that if they want to make money they need to appease their black female audience, And so far Smith and Washington have done that. If black male actors do not treat their black female audience right they will pay a very big price. Diggs is paying his right now.

Your point about people not wanting to tune into a show where a black person is the headliner, directly relates to why they casted a white love interest.

I have spoken to white straight men and plenty of them do NOT want to see white women with black men in love on TV. The white heterosexual man does NOT like that at ALL. I think they probably did cast a white woman as his wife in hope of getting white viewers. But I think that just turned off white and black America. Its still too taboo and controversial to show a black man and a white woman making love on TV. Its too much for Americans it freaked people out.

So its best Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs just be pals on this new show or it will bomb. White straight men DO NOT want to see their women romancing a black guy.

MorrisseyX... I understand your point. But there are some shows that have black men and white women romancing.. One of the most popular shows on network TV "Heroes" have a black and white couple romancing. Also Grey's Anatomy has an interracial relationship on screen. Meredith's mom with the chief.

But you are right on ALLLLL points that white America isn't ready to see white women and a black guy be the focus of one show, and be into each other onscreen. Still taboo, which is sad.

I think that's why when they do interracial relationships most of the time.. its usually a hispanic with a white guy, or a hispanic with a black guy. A common ground.

For Hitch.. they were originally going to cast a white woman, but went with a Hispanic instead. I think even Will Smith even mention that America still isn't ready for a interracial couple to be the lead in a show.

Man it sounded very odd at first when i heard Kate Walsh was getting her own show (I love her to death btw) but it actually sounds plausible. Anatomy fans would agree. Who cares really if there is tension, why would you get angry over another star leaving a VERY HOT, HIGHLY RATED television program just to start over and this time, on your own?!!!??!?!

It makes so much sense though.

With Derek now being with Meredith, there's really no reason for Addison to stay at Seattle Grace. If anything it's just a constant reminder of what her life could've been. And she has to come to work everyday seeing Meredith Grey living it.

Ellen Pompeo needs to shut up and stop whining. The show is named after your character after all! Even though she's technically "the lead" she is by far my least favorite character (except for this week's episode when she went to the other side *****sniffles****). Hooray for Addison to get her own show!

I watched Daybreak's first episode and it was interesting but ABC probably didn't see the potential of the show becoming a hit which is probably why they canceled it.

ABC released a statement saying that Katie is very much still in Grey's and is dedicated to her character Izzie Stevens.

I've only lately come across it, and starting to enjoy watchin it.

Last night's 2 part episodes was about the unexploded bazooka inside a guy's chest. It was really intense.

And that anaethisiologist was a evil fukka. :grrr: Left that poor girl to it with the guy and the explosive.

I felt sorry for the guy holding the munition at the end. And no one spoke about him and his colleague.

Anyone catch it/saw it before? Is it me or the doc (sorry can't recall his name as I'm recent convert) who was in the linen cupboard and pulled his pants donw to have sex - kinda resemble Andy Roddick?
 
Oh grey's is so good. You really must watch all of it, its my favorite show!
 
Greys Anatomy is my favorite show! That episode is from Season 2. I just watched it on DVD the other day. I think the doctor you are talking about is Dr. Alex Carev (Justin Chambers). I can see how he could look like Andy Roddick. Both are two guys I would happily get naked in a closet with!

I agree with cellular...you should totally start watching more! The guys on that show are sooo hot. I personally find Dr. George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) very hot. Most people don't, but there is just something about him. Very hot to me! :)
